From me to you #apeekatmylife

We just completed a lightning trip to Arizona! I drove our RV out to my brother’s house in Arizona for the winter. Four days travel to get there. Well, four and a half, really. My son in law got home earlier than expected so I didn’t have to babysit, so we took off as I had the RV packed and ready to go. We only had to grab our medication (we’re old, lol), and our phones and off we went!

Our first stop was the World’s Largest Truck Stop on I-80 in Iowa. It is huge. They have an awesome restaurant there. We wandered around, then slept in the parking lot, then headed back in for breakfast and some World’s Largest Truck Stop gear. I don’t plan on sleeping in such a busy spot again. I didn’t sleep well.

Our second stop was Loves RV park in Cameron MO. Nice enough and quiet despite being near the freeway and at a truck stop again, lol. I slept great here. Probably because I was able to put the slide out for my bed instead of sleeping over the cab. I’ll leave that spot for the kids when they travel with us. When it’s just me and the hubby, it’s storage.

Our third night was at the Mid-America Air Museum in Liberal KS. Definitely go there if you are near. It is fascinating. Personally, I wish I had my own personal helicopter just like the scorpion home helicopter they have there. I’d fly everywhere! As long as I don’t have to look down, lol. I have a small issue with heights.

Our last night on the road was in Alamogordo NM. I love it there. We stayed at the Trinity Turtle Labyrinth. Another spot to check out if you are in the area. Then go on a tour of a pistachio farm and check out all the flavors of pistachios. But, there’s more! Just down the road from the World’s Largest Pistachio, there is another pistachio farm that is a pistachio winery! It’s awesome. We didn’t go on the tour due to the time table I was keeping, but I will go back again to take it.

Despite the high winds in Kansas and the sand storm in New Mexico and Arizona, it was a pretty good trip. We stayed three more days and flew home to deal with the aftermath of the leaky faucet we had an emergency repair done the day before we left. The contents of my kitchen are still all over as I have to finish getting rid of the mildew and replace part of the wall under the sink. Ugh.

My life is never peaceful, lol. Today my fellow leader and I will be heading out with our Girl Scout Troop to Milwaukee for the girls to build robots! I’m sure a fun time will be had by all.
