November is here! Nanowrimo, Noshavember, I’m participating in it all. This weekend is the Wisconsin Festival of Books at UW Waukesha. I’ll be heading there shortly. Hopefully, lol. You never know what will happen in the next few minutes.
I’m plugging away at Waking Tamara and, fingers crossed, it will be available in April. This will give me time for rewrites and edits. And set up a plan for advertisement. One of the hardest parts!
I’ve been stumped, but I’ve finally got the flow going again. Too bad I’m scrapping most of what I had. It’s okay, though. I had a bunch of stuff in the first part of the draft that had no bearing on the storyline. Sometimes you have to step back and then dig in again to have the story run true.
The good part is, I’m getting engrossed in the story like I did with Stealing Hope. Though I originally planned on six books, at this point it looks like it will be seven. Waking Tamara is a tangent into one of the characters you met in Saving Grace. Indra just demanded to have his story told. So tell it I am.
I ended up starting the beginning of Juevetorj’s story in another script. I was sitting at the computer and out it came. So, I have a starting place, lol. Lord knows where it will go from there. Poor Hark is destined to be one of the later books since his sister is muscling him out. That’s okay. His inspiration may take place during either Indra’s or Juevetorj’s story.
At the end of November the first draft should be done. I’ll send it out to a couple of beta readers and they can take a month or so to go over it while I do the same. Mid January will see me doing rewrites from their suggestions and then I’ll read over it again. Mind you, I always find some stupid error no one catches the first time! Or second time. Sometimes not even the third time.
Then in February or March I’ll contact my editor to see if she has room in her schedule. Since 2020, things have been up in the air.
While my book is with my beta readers, I’ll be finishing up a couple of other projects.
My cookbook is still in the works. It takes a while because I remake the recipes a couple of times at least until I like them. So I write them, cook them and then take pictures. A bit involved, but since I love to cook I’m enjoying it. Plus my husband eats them so it’s a win-win. Neither of us has been poisoned yet, lol. That bodes well!
I’m gathering intel for my ‘purchasing an RV’ book. I’ve got the basics written and just need to follow through with a few other ideas I want to flesh it out. I’m in a few RV sites and I want to find out what other people look for in an RV. Just to make sure I cover everything I can. Right now, it’s bare bones. That will help flesh it out.
So, just enjoy the cutie on this cover until the book comes out. I hope to have it in hand for my first book signing in June. I’ll be in Deadwood in June at Wild Deadwood Reads, Peoria Il at Writer’s on the River in July, and Terra Haute IN at the convention center in August. Due to me NOT checking dates I won’t be in Cedar Falls IA in August as it is the same dates as the Terra Haute signing and I’m strong arming my relatives in the area to come, lol.
