Legend has it that anyone that looks upon a medusa will never live to tell the tale. However, fate has different ideas…
Drucilla, a medusa-human shifter, is unable to control her transformations, which puts every living creature near her in danger of becoming stone. Her sisters have given her ten years to teach herself how to control it, but she is down to her last few days, and still cannot do it.
Az, a gargoyle, is cursed to turn to stone every sun rise and to only be released from his rock tomb every sunset. He is the only living being that Drucilla has seen survive her medusa stare. Can he help her control her shifts or will she be forever alone, too afraid to face anyone ever again?
Cara’s Review
Drucilla is a medusa shifter, without the ability to control her shift. As a danger to others, her sisters have granted her ten years to learn to control her powers, or be locked up indefinitely till she learns control. As the ten year period draws to a close, Drucilla is still unable to control her shift, luckily she runs into the perfect test subject- a gargoyle.
Az and Drucilla’s story is a short one, but a very enjoyable read. Their romance is fast and furious, but fitting and not overdone. AZ is a sweet hero, thoughtful and dedicated to helping Drucilla learn control- definitely different from the uber-alpha males I’m used to reading about, but protective just the same. He treats Drucilla as an equal, and not as a small breakable object. The ending is a sweet HAE, and I can only imagine years of fun and adventure for these two lovers.
I would recommend this book to any paranormal romance fan, looking for a quick enjoyable read.
