Wray by M.K. Eidem

Emperor Wray Vasteri was the ruler of the Tornian Empire. His House has ruled the Empire ever since the great infection, which struck over five hundred years ago and he feared he would be the last. The number of compatible females was dwindling faster than anyone knew. If they could not find compatible females soon, their entire civilization would cease to exist. It was the reason he agreed to meet with Liron, the Emperor of the Kaliszian Empire in Kaliszian space. It was the only reason they had crossed paths with a Ganglian ship leaving Tornian space, and it was the only reason that the small female was discovered. Could she be what they had been searching for?

Wray found himself drawn to the small female he’d found beaten and abused on the Ganglian ship. She resembled a Tornian female, but was much smaller. Could she be what he had been searching for?

Kim Teel has had a hard life, at least she thought she had, until her parents were suddenly killed and then her sister and brother in law disappeared. At nineteen, she realized she’d been protected from all of life’s hardships. She had been cared for and loved her entire life had come to expect it. She was terribly spoiled. Determined to change her ways, Kim went looking for her sister, only to be captured by the Ganglians and it was then she learned what happened to the ‘unprotected’ females of the universe.

Wray and Kim are both doing the same thing, trying to survive. But what they find is that there are more important things than just survival. And once they learn that, the universe changes forever.

Cara’s Review

Wray is book two in the Tornians series- a much anticipated one. However, it is an interesting follow-up to Grim (Book 1) because it is actually written as a prequel! That being said, read Grim first- or if you don’t, skip the prologue and epilogue of Wray till after you do so!

Kim is all alone on Earth after a series of accidents- and one moment she is searching for her sister in the woods, and the next she is abducted by disgusting aliens. Luckily for her, the ship is intercepted by a Tornian shuttle! Even better, the man that rescues her, Wray, is her Warrior.

While a traditional theme of “no females left, but humans may be compatible,” shows a unique manner of societal evolution when there is a deficiency of women. Women have become cold, heartless, b*****s; only looking out for themselves. They have no regard for their mates or their children. Of course, a kind, compassionate earth woman blows the men out of the water!

If you are a fan of alien romance, HAE, new beginnings, and hunky men battling for honor, this is definitely a book you should check out. I promise it will deliver! Remember to read Grim first, though…

Cara’s Review:

Wow! It’s been a while since I’ve written a review, been super busy…but I just finished this novel, and thought it was fantastic. I thought I’d share it with you guys, so you can enjoy it as well!

Forty-six year old Amber has saved for the vacation of a life time- the picturesque Highlands of Scotland. Little did she know that her vacation would be cut short by a portal to another another planet! This tale in an interesting twist to the male society with no females- the males don’t need females, they reproduce by cloning. But, when they realize how much fun females can be, there is no stopping them!

This is the going to be the first book in a great new series by Ms. McKnight- her debut novel. I thought the book was well written, and it was an interesting enough twist from the traditional male society needs females genre that it grabs your attention and holds it. Amber is a great heroine, and Kniam is a wonderful male. The most powerful man in the community, he is gently, passionate, and kind towards Amber.

I absolutely can’t wait to get my hands on the next novel in this series, and will be on the lookout for the net book. Oh, and wait till you find out where these guys came from! Another great twist. This book is great for those romance lovers out there, for those who love alien cultures, and for those seeking a great HAE book.

Review- Texas Heat – Denyse Bridger

texas heat

Chase Jordan is a man with half his life missing since his return from the war in Iraq. He arrives back in Texas, a drifter looking for home. When he arrives at the Double D ranch, the owners know him, even if he can’t remember them. Cheyenne’s been infatuated with Chase since her high school days, but Deke MacKenzie’s already made it clear to Chase that his kid sister is off limits
“It’s Cheyenne, Chase,” she reminded him.
He nodded. They’d done this dance before. There was something too familiar about her, but he couldn’t pin it down. The now customary flare of annoyance woke inside him. Half his damn past was missing since he’d come home from Iraq. Maybe he’d known her once, though he couldn’t imagine forgetting someone like her. “Something I can do for you, ma’am?”
She laughed and dropped the tailgate on the pickup, bending over with what he knew was deliberate intent. There was no denying the appeal of her well-shaped ass in the tight jeans, and his cock twitched in response. She turned, tossed him a beer, and sat on the tailgate looking at him while she took a swig of her own drink.
Chase opened the can of beer and drank half of it. He strolled to the truck, braced his arm casually on the side as he stared at her. “You haven’t answered my question, Cheyenne.”
She twisted around until she faced him, and cradled the cooler between her breasts. Her nipples were clearly outlined and pushing against the thin cotton of her tank-top.
He met her candid stare and grinned at the challenge in her expression.
“Why don’t you like people, Chase?”
“I like people just fine, ma’am,” he said. “I prefer my own company to that of idiots.”
She considered his reply then shrugged. “Do you consider me an idiot, Chase?”
He laughed. “No, ma’am.”
“Good answer,” she said.
“I have work to do, Cheyenne.” He finished his beer and tossed the can into the ice-filled hamper containing the rest of the six-pack she’d brought with her.
“You work for me, too, Chase,” she reminded him softly.
He took a long look at her, his appraisal meant to be offensive and blatant.
At only a little over five feet tall, Chey was stacked and curvy in all the right places. Her long auburn hair was tied back in a simple ponytail, and she wore no makeup.
He dropped his gaze to her breasts, fingertips tingling as he contemplated what her skin would feel like, and taste like if he leaned in and took one of her ripe nipples into his mouth. She slid a little bit closer to him and he shook off the heat that was building inside him. “Thanks for the beer, ma’am. I’ll be getting back to my work now.”
He would have left but she grabbed his arm and he was too aware of the pebbled point of her nipple brushing against his bicep.
“I want―”
He put a finger over her lips, silencing her as he shook his head. “Baby, I know what you want, but I’m not playing that game.”
She slid her hand along the front of his jeans, stopping to squeeze hard and his manhood reacted instantly and pushed against the heavy denim.
“I want you to screw me, Chase,” she whispered, her gaze locked with his, the glint in her dark eyes a clear dare. “I think you want it, too.”
He smiled and let the predator in his nature emerge in his expression. More than one woman had backed off when his smile went dark and warning.
Cheyenne’s eyes widened, but she didn’t back down. Her chest rose and fell as her breaths quickened with obvious excitement.
You don’t know what you’re asking for, Cheyenne,” he told her. “I don’t play nice.”
“Maybe I don’t want nice?”
He needed to push her away while he still had some control over the situation. He took
the bottle she’d been clutching and tossed it aside, grabbed her ponytail and eased her head back, exposing the graceful curve of her neck. Leaning in, he licked the smooth hollow at the base of her throat, smiling against her skin when the tang of sweetness and sweat touched his tongue. “You have no idea how tempting

Cara’ s Review

I knew that this book was going to be short and fast. It doesn’t have that many pages to it. I will tell you that both Cheyenne and Chase are fighting their feelings that they have for each other.. I can’t tell you much because I don’t want to give much away. I will tell you that this isn’t the first book I’ve read by this author. I thought that I had never read one by her but I found out that I have. I guess I must be having some memory problems myself.

This was a pretty exciting read and you could tell that these two really wanted each other. There isn’t anything keeping them apart except they are fighting every inch of the way.

I don’t know what I would do if I was ever in Chase’s shoes. Coming back from Iraq and having to get used to the idea of missing part of your self.. You know that everyone around you knows things but no one is saying a word.

I had to see if anything would work out for these two. I knew that Cheyenne had wanted him since she was in high school. Now she is getting tired of not being able to say anything.
There are some pretty hot scenes in this book and you will feel like you are on fire.

Review- Hyde and Seek – Viola Grace

hyde and seek

Working in the Resistance, Amly Hyde has specialised in hiding other talents from notice. Now, she has been spotted, and she is hiding in plain sight until she just can’t hide anymore.

Rescued from a capture event, Amly is swept off her feet and through the floor, leaving Resicor in a way she had never really considered. Alive with her feet on the deck plates had never seemed like an option. She is destined for the Citadel and her companion is going to make sure she arrives safe and sound.

Walking Shadow has known his match was on Resicor, and the moment he saw her, he was sure that she was the one. The blue hair was a giveaway, but her strong-minded fixation on survival was a bit of a turn-on. He has time to convince her they are meant to be together but patience has never been one of his virtues.

Cara’s Review

I greatly enjoy all of Viola Grace’s books, but every once in a while, she throws me a curve ball and creates one I absolutely love.  Hyde and Seek, Tales of the Citadel book 33, is one of these.    Amly Hyde has shown up in several books, as part of the rescue effort on Resicor. When it is time for her to make haste off planet, Keezik, comes to her rescue.

Now, all of Grace’s characters are very distinct, each with their own personalities and drives.  Amly stands out, however, even from this crowd of unique individuals.  She is an absolute powerhouse in terms of ability, and I know she will play a large role in the final smack-down of Resicor government.  Which I absolutely can’t wait for.

I would strongly recommend this book both to Ms. Grace’s fans, and to those looking for something new in the Sci-fi romance genre!

Review- Big Flight by Zenina Masters

big Flight

When she is at the Crossroads, she notices the man sent to reclaim her, and while she knows he is in charge of her clan, she isn’t quite sure what he is.

After they acknowledge mutual attraction, they spend a night together and have to work on the consequences when they shift for their first big flight together.

Cara’s Review

King Vultures aren’t pretty…but they shift into some beautiful people.  When those beautiful people turn out to be just as lovely on the inside, you have a story where you’ll be cheering the characters on.  The characters themselves recognize the Cinderella-ness of their story, and it is a wonderful fairy tale.  Molly Wexler and Damon Suel are a truly beautiful couple.  Now, don’t let all that romance fool you, because this is also one HOT read!

Review- Cubed- Brenda Lyons

On the Earth colony Kielan in the far future, social standing is based on two things, family affiliation and power. All power is psi. Every individual has between five and forty units of psi power, but on Kielan, soulmates and bond-siblings are a way of life. By the science of matches, power increases geometrically by finding pairs destined to you.

When Balin Night sub Summer, a member of a bond-mated Trio, finds her bond-sister, a classless waif named Riann, she believes she has completed a bond-mated Quartet. To everyone’s surprise, Riann is soulmate to the unmated single of their Trio, Lio. They have formed one of the rare Quatrels, and the untrained Riann is their cornerstone.

But there is a secret surrounding Riann. She is a member of one of the four great houses on Kielan and not lowborn as her name would suggest, but how could such a thing occur? It is up to Lio and Talek to solve the mystery of Riann’s past and help her find her way as one of the true elite of their world.

Cara’s Review

This book was a fun and awesome romp through a new world.  Each Chapter begins with a little snippet of information regarding this new society, both past and future.  While introducing a new world can be a bit overwhelming, to both the author and reader, Brenda Lyons did a great job in paring down information to essentials.  I greatly anticipate further works focused on this world, because she set up such a wonderfully rich backdrop.

That being said, there is a LOT of information about the new world, the different families, and what bonding means.  Though slightly confusing in the beginning, by the end, everything becomes clear.  Though a typical story of a hidden powerful princess, Lyons brings something new to the telling.  There are so many different layers and an amazing future to explore!  I’m pretty sure these couples will be creating enough energy to light up the world for a while!

I’d recommend this book to those who love Cinderella romances, HAE, and love that comes in all shapes and sizes.

A Siren Erotic Romance

Cara’s Review

Holy Macaroni.  Please read this book when you are by a pool, so you can take a quick dip when it gets to hot!  And, boy, is this story flaming!

Taken by her Alien Warriors tells the tale of Gemini, and her rescuer, Zorran.  Zorran saved young Gemini when her home on Earth was invaded, and her mother slaughtered.  Zorrans people, the Cirrion have little use for woman like Gemini, and would pass her around in a heart beat.  Despite his feelings for Gemini, he places her with his close friend, and lover, Ornak, a Drakon.  Of course, the two species are battling, but that just adds to the story.

This story tells the tale of how three very different people can come together and that love is strong enough to break any cultural or racial taboo.  There are M:F, and menage scenes, as well as M:M scenes, so if you don’t like that stuff, don’t read the book!

Perfect summer beach or pool side read!
