Holidate, an all-new standalone contemporary holiday romance by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Monica Murphy.

Candice Gaines loves Christmas. Not only does she bask in the twinkling lights, sing Christmas carols and go crazy with the decorations, she’s also in the giving spirit, donating much of her time and wealth to various charities in the local area.

Charlie Sullivan despises Christmas. Though it keeps his family afloat, considering they own Sullivan Family Christmas Tree Farm, the main provider for Christmas trees on the Monterey peninsula. He’d much rather work among the trees versus have to deal with people.

But Charlie’s parents are taking on more philanthropic projects—and as their oldest child, they want him to be their official public representative. He just has to play nice and convince everyone he’s not a total holiday hater.

When Charlie’s mom asks Candice to accompany him to a variety of holiday parties and events, she reluctantly agrees. She thinks Charlie is a big ol’ Grinch, but is determined to change his mindset and help him spread Christmas cheer. Charlie finds Candice too chatty, too sweet, too much. Do people like her really exist?

Why yes, yes they do. The more time they spend together—along with a few kisses under the mistletoe—the more they start to like each other. Hopefully Charlie can convince Candice he doesn’t have a heart that’s two sizes too small before the ball drops on New Year’s Eve.

A stand-alone, contemporary romance.

Excerpt:

I go chasing after Charlie, thankful he hasn’t hopped back on that ATV and torn out of here. He’s headed straight for the giant red building, and I follow behind, having to pick up my step since one of his long strides equals about three of mine. He’s just so stinkin’ tall.

And handsome.

And gruff.

And he smells good. Have I mentioned that? He smells like a pine tree, of course, and his scent is mouth-wateringly delicious.

Ugh. I hate myself sometimes.

He pushes open the door of the building almost violently, sending it swinging wide, and I sneak in behind him, causing him to turn and practically snarl at me when he realizes I’m standing in front of him.

But I forget all about his snarl when I see how enchanting this room is. It’s not an office, but an actual store, filled to the brim with holiday decorations and knickknacks for sale. Candles are burning—I can smell cinnamon and spice wafting in the air. The scent of the real pine trees laden with ornaments standing in the room also lingers, and I breathe deep, closing my eyes for a moment so I can take it all in.

When I open my eyes, it’s to find Charlie standing there, his hands on his hips, his brow lowered. “Are you okay? That head injury still flaring up and giving you trouble?”

I roll my eyes. “No, you idiot. I’m enjoying the festive atmosphere.”

Oh, that was mean. I shouldn’t have said that.

But I don’t think he even noticed.

I slowly turn in a circle, pure delight flowing through my veins. I don’t know what to look at first, it’s all so beautiful. And there are layers upon layers of decorations. On the walls, cluttering shelves and tabletops, overflowing giant baskets. And of course there are the trees. They almost sag with their bounty of sparkling ornaments and twinkling lights. It would probably take me hours to explore it all, and I’m dying to start my exploration right at this very moment. “This store is so adorable!”

“My sister Victoria runs it.” He glances over at the counter where the register sits, but no one’s there. “I don’t know where she’s at, though. Maybe you could talk to her about—whatever it is you want to talk about.”

No way is he pushing this agenda onto his sister. Isabel wants Charlie to do this, and no one else.

“We’ve wasted the past five minutes with you huffing and puffing and refusing to speak to me.” I reach into my large bag and pull the folder out I wanted to show him. “Give me ten minutes. That’s all I need to talk about what we’re going to do over the next few weeks.”

He grimaces. Sighs. Tugs the cap off his head, all that gorgeous hair spilling across his forehead, and my fingers literally itch at the chance to push it out of his eyes.

But I restrain myself.

Barely.

Having fun in Kentucky!

We arrived in Louisville Wednesday night. Got to the hotel and found out my reservation had been cancelled! By the company that had already taken my money. They had a phone number to call. Found out it was to Turkey. I called anyhow but calls could not be made to that number.

So… I called my credit card company and put it up for dispute. Explained the whole situation. They credited my card back while the process began. I’m canceling my card but I needed it to pay for my hotel.

Finally we got a room. A nice king suite! After a good nights rest we grabbed the complimentary breakfast and headed out to the Louisville Slugger museum.

Both of us are baseball fanatics, lol. So we enjoyed ourselves. The tour was wonderful. We did the regular tour and for only $9.00 more added on the bat vault! We held so many famous players bats! The vault holds the original model for players requests since the first made bat for Jackie Robinson until sometime in the 80’s when it all became digitalized. Here’s some photos!

During WW1 they stopped making bats and made rifle stocks! But everyone did their part in the great war.

Then I went and set up my table at the Imaginarium. It looks to be a wonderful time. If you’re in Lower Indiana or Kentucky, hope you can make it either Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Excerpt

“Out,” Jesse growled.

The women stilled. Addy chuckled as she entered and leaned against the wall beside Levi.

“This isn’t a show. Get the fuck out,” he repeated.

“Not happening,” Addy said. The redheaded operative terrified the hell out of Ellie. She was like Wonder Woman, if Wonder Woman had also been James Bond. Maybe? Either way, she was so kickass she gave every operative at The Arsenal pause.

Even Vi’s husband Jud—and he’d been an assassin. Yikes.

Ellie swallowed as she processed the protective solidarity of her new friends—her tribe. The fact that she had one was a shock. She’d only ever had Jesse as a friend. Then he’d gone, and she’d had…

“There a reason you’re coming in here like you’re about to start World War III?” Vi asked. “Your growl doesn’t scare me, Jesse.”

Nothing scared Vi. All the women gathered around Ellie were amazing—each in her own unique way. The fact that any one of them had friended her was wild. All of them?

Jesse dropped something on her desk. Her pulse quickened as she watched the small object bounce a couple times then roll to a stop by her stapler. Silence descended as everyone looked at the piece of metal.

Addy and Vi cursed. Bree reached out and grabbed it.

“Why are you bringing this in and getting mad at Ellie?” The blonde looked at Ellie. “Why is he bringing this to you?”

Ellie took a moment to snap the pieces together. Someone had shot her tire out. It hadn’t been a blowout. Fear crawled through her, but the anger doused it quickly enough.

Phil.

That son of a bitch.

“Medina has a loud mouth,” she muttered, unsure what else to say.

“No. Don’t put this on Medina. He did what you should’ve done,” Jesse said.

“Actually, she should have called us when this shit went down instead of changing her tire on the side of the road after someone shot it out,” Levi commented from the wall.

Riley gasped. “When?”

“I’ve got Cord and Zoey finding the footage now,” Jesse said. “You want to tell me who shot your tire out and why?”

Ellie shook her head. “I didn’t know it was shot out. I thought it was a blowout. I swear.”

“What happened?” Jesse’s voice was low, but gritty like he’d swallowed sandpaper. His green gaze flickered with rage. His entire body vibrated with unspent anger. She’d never fully understood how, but she could read him easily.

Ellie looked around.

“We do this here or in the whiteboard room with the rest of the crew that isn’t here,” Vi said.

Jesse moved to her side of the desk and grasped her arm. Though his touch was gentle, he’d grabbed the same area Phil had used to yank her from the truck. Pain sliced through her body. A sound rose from her throat.

His gaze darkened as he removed his hand and rolled her sleeve up.

Though not much time had passed, bruises were forming in a distinct pattern. Fingers.

Tension struck the room. Everyone started talking at once.

Jesse leaned down until he was in her personal space. “You and I need to have a conversation about this, Peanut. You want to do this with just you and me, or do you want them involved? Either way they’ll know whatever you tell me.”

She’d sat in plenty of Arsenal briefings. The Masons, the women gathered around her, and the team leaders all converged and went over every speck of detail about a case. No stone went unturned. They hacked their way into impossible-to-get intel without thought.

Mary and Vi led the discussions and used the system they’d created. HERA. Ellie didn’t fully understand it, but Marshall and Nolan had both told her every government organization and country in the world wanted it.

Her stupid problems with Phil didn’t need their level of intensity. He was a pissant compared to the real terrorists, drug lords, regimes, militias, spies, assassins, and dictatorships they battled on a regular basis. Nolan said Mary and Vi had never failed on a mission. While Ellie really, really wanted kickass commandoes like Jesse and The Arsenal kicking Phil’s ass, more important and deserving people needed them more.

“It’s nothing.”

“Nothing doesn’t shoot out tires,” Jesse said. “Nothing doesn’t leave marks on you.”

MOUNT OLYMPUS MEETS THE PARANORMAL

Juliet needs to feast, to appease the thirst cursed upon her by a former lover. She picks her victim, a strong, sexy MMA fighter she’s never heard of. After a night of mind blowing passion, she prepares her attack.

Except he isn’t an everyday, ordinary average guy.

He’s a god.

More specifically, he’s the Greek god of war.

And he’ll move heaven and hell, defy his parents and destroy all in his way to make her his.

Excerpt:

Juliet felt the ache resonate through her body before her senses came to her. It had been a long time since sex left her hurting. It wasn’t that Ares was rough with her. On the contrary, he was the most gentle and tender lover she ever had in the few centuries she walked this cursed planet. But they went all night with very few moments to rest. It had to be just before dawn when she fell asleep on his shoulder.

She clenched her eyes closed tight. Ares. The Greek god of war. She thought she had lined up another victim to feast on. The fighter she chose was quite a specimen for a mortal man. Except he wasn’t a man. He was a god. A fucking Greek god. Fabulous.

She let out a tiny moan at the feel of silk against her naked skin. She didn’t remember this from the hotel bed the night before. Had the sex made her that delirious? She didn’t think so. She yawned as she slowly fluttered her eyes open.

Above her was the bluest skin she’d  ever seen. It was peppered with white, fluffy, cotton ball like clouds. The stream of sunshine warmed her. Memories of her past life, of days in the French court filled her mind. It felt peaceful.

Her heart slammed into her throat then pounded uncontrollably. She whimpered. Sunlight meant death. That son of a bitch knew she was a vampire. He left her out in the sunlight to die. She trembled violently as she frowned. As high up as it was, she should have already been dead. Where the hell was she? She searched around her frantically.

“Good morning, sleepyhead.”

Juliet searched around her as she tugged the blood red silk sheet to her naked body. There might have been a clear, blue sky above her but the walls were rock. It took a few moments to take everything in. Finally, her gaze stopped on Ares staring down from the ledge above her. She groaned as she slowly calmed down. The image of him dressed in tight fitting jeans and a nineties band t-shirt set loose the lust in her again.

Juliet bit her lip. “Where am I?” She pointed to the ceiling. “And what is that?”

Ares studied her then descended the stone staircase from above. “The sun was just about to come up. I didn’t figure you’d want to stick around until it did. Here, you’re safe. It’s a little past noon right now and look, you’re still here and kicking.” He looked up at the ceiling. “And that is an illusion. I’m a god. I thought I would do something nice for you. It’s probably been awhile since you’ve seen a summer sky.”

“Just before the French Revolution.”

“So you’re French. Nice.”

“Why did you bring me here?”

Ares stopped at the foot of the large, round bed she was lying in and crossed his arms over his broad chest. “I told you. The sun was coming up.”

She cocked her head to the side, letting her ebony curls fall down her bare shoulder. “You could have sent me back to my place. Or just let me burn to ashes at sun up. Try again.”

He smirked at her. “I told you. You belong to me. You are mine. No mortal can fuck me like you did. Besides, we share the same staple to our existence. Blood. You drink it. I shed it.”

Dreams of 18

Dreams of 18
by Saffron A. Kent

“You don’t go around kissing your best friend’s dad, do you?
Even though that’s all you ever dream about.”

Violet Moore is in love with a man who hates her.

Well, to be fair, she kinda deserves it.

On her eighteenth birthday, she got drunk and threw herself at him, causing a huge scandal in their sleepy suburban town.

Now everyone thinks she’s a slut and he has disappeared. Rumor has it that he’s been living up in the mountains of Colorado, all alone and in isolation.

But Violet is going to make it right.

She’s going to find him and bring him back.

No matter how cruel and mean he is, how much he hurts her with his cold-hearted and abrasive ways, she won’t give up.

And neither will she think about his tempting lips or his sculpted muscles or his strong hands. The hands that she wants on her body, touching her, feeling her skin…

The hands that make her want to forget everything and kiss Graham Edwards – Mr. Edwards, actually – again.

Because you don’t go around kissing your best friend’s dad, do you?

Even though that’s all you ever dream about.
