From me to you #apeekatmylife

Well, camping last weekend was a bust. The weather cancelled our plans. With high winds and gusting rain, not to mention tornado warnings, we ended up cancelling. Glad we did, I wouldn’t have wanted to end up sitting in the cabin the whole night.

Instead, we built Legos and made s’mores in the microwave. It worked, lol.

I’ve been hit or miss on NaNoWriMo. I’ve got my first chapter done and ready to start on the next. No where near the count I need to have, but at least I’m writing. Even if it feels like pulling teeth!

What I lack is discipline, lol. However, our house is almost done on the outside. It is impossible to concentrate with all the hammering. Once the gutters are finished, drywall patched and window frames in the basement put on, it should be quiet. The company is changing crew on us due to what still needs to be done, but I don’t know when they will be here. They are doing an awesome job, but their communication kind of sucks.

But, they know the money won’t come until the job is done. Though I put 1/3 down and they were supposed to get another 1/3 halfway thru. Pretty sure they are more than 1/2 way done. To make sure it is all completed, I have a list made. Just so I don’t forget. Of course, I do have the contract, but a bunch of stuff is already done.

Something I haven’t mentioned is that my husband is having medical issues. And not minor ones. I’d be screaming in frustration in his place, but he’s been pretty even tempered about it all. He has been going through it for the last few months. Those of you that were at Romance Rendezvous know about it. It came on suddenly. One day he is fully able bodied and practically the next he has lost all ability to use his shoulders, hips and knees. It has been a bit stressful. Getting in to see specialists takes forever. Finally we have a diagnosis. Myositis.

The neuromuscular doctor has a plan of treatment, just wants to confirm it with a muscle biopsy. We are waiting on that, and still learning what the heck it is. The good thing is he hasn’t been getting worse and his condition seems to have stabilized. Not a great place to be, but I pray that with treatment he will get better. If not, we’ll have a new normal.

Since the appointments are all next year at this point, we’re heading to California via Arizona by car. The cost of gas will suck, but I’m not sure when else we’ll be able to go. Three days at Disneyland to look forward to, a new great niece due in November in Arizona (the reason for the stop there), and a week with our kids and their SO’s and granddaughter, and all the fam in California to visit. We’re going to make the most of our vacation. We’ll have gone to Disneyworld and Disneyland this year.

We’ll head back home to arrive back by the 20th of December so I can go to my girl scout meeting. Be there for our daughter’s birthday and doctor’s appointments in the next few days after we return. Not to mention Christmas. Otherwise I would be content to traipse around the United States all winter #adventuring.

Stay healthy and thank you any Veterans for your service.
