Crystal’s Review:

I loved the other two books in this series. I thought that there would be another one but not one like this one. I am in shock and can’t believe what happened in this book. I never thought Sloane would do what he did.

Abby completely lost it when Sloane served her with divorce papers. He never told her why he was leaving he just left her while she was in the hospital. This is a couple that I never seen being apart and to think that he leaves both Abby and his daughter for three years. He thought he was keeping them safe but when he thinks one of his friends is trying to get with Abby he decides that it is time that he steps in and shows everyone who belongs to who.

With each and every book we get to see this couple go through everything to be together. I was so hoping that nothing else would go wrong. I knew that there would probably be another book and it would be about someone else. K believe the reason that I love this series is that it is something that could really happen and Abby and Sloane have been through things that normal people would go through. I wanted so bad to grab a hold of Sloane and beat some sense into his brain. What could it be that would make him give up the two main women in his life and the guy that he thought of as a father. I knew that it had to be something bad and I couldn’t put the book down until I had read every single page and solved the mystery.

The way that this book ended makes me think there will be another book. I don’t know if I can stand the suspense or not. This author sure knows how to bring out the best in her books and her characters. Makes me wonder if they are real. I feel like they are real people to me. Just a family that I could sit down with and have a conversation and just get caught into the stories of their lives. This book really kept me guessing and wondering what would happen next. I wanted to know if their love had survived enough that they could make it work or if the bridges had been burned with no way of mending them back together.

If you love stories that gives a chance to really know the characters and will take you on a grand adventure and will leave you on the edge of your seat. This is the series for you. I would recommend reading them in order or you will be missing out on some great stories. You have to read them all to see what this couple has been through.

Crystal’s Review
Cyril has lived many lives and he always forgets more than he remembers. He is traveling the Scottish moors when he see’s a small boy laying in the ditch. He has been beaten and left for dead. When they return the boy to his family he gets one night with the inn keepers daughter. Celestine can’t forget her love and she believes her dad shouldn’t use her the way he does. She only has the love of her man to keep her sane.

I can’t imagine knowing that I would keep dying and coming back and not able to remember everything that I need to. This was a great look into the book so that we can see a little of Cyril. He isn’t a bad guy and he never forces a woman to do anything. If I had to pick a man, Cyril would be the one that I would want. I love Scottish highlanders and there is just something about them that turns me on. I don’t know what Cyril is and I hope we find out in the next book.

Review ~ Love Plus One by Andrea Smith

Love Plus OneLove Plus One
by Andrea Smith

Blurb:
It had been a year ago that 19-year-old Lindsey Dennison’s life had taken an abrupt turn.
While away at Cornell for her freshman year at college, her parents’ marriage had imploded. Lindsey learned the harsh truth about her father, and his involvement in criminal activity that was the focus of a major federal bust. Her father had slipped out of the country with his lover and cohort in crime, Susanne, shortly before the FBI arrest warrants could be served. He was now a fugitive from justice, deserting his only child. Lindsey was left trying to pick up the pieces of the life she now realized had been a house of secrets and lies for all of those years.

After her mother’s marriage to Eric Slater (Slate), one of the special agents of the FBI involved in the federal investigation that occurred in their hometown of Indianapolis, Lindsey decides to start fresh at a new college close to where her mother, step-father and baby brother Bryce are now living outside of Washington, D.C.

Life is different now for Lindsey, but it is about to change even more. Her step-father’s partner and best friend in the bureau, Trace “Taz” Matthews, is about to rock her world in more ways than one. Taz is nearly ten years older than Lindsey, but her initial interest in him is physical only. Lindsey has a problem that she is certain Taz can fix – but will he?

Despite their best efforts, Lindsey and Taz are tossed together by fate on more than one occasion, and this G-Man does not appreciate the distraction.

There are complications for Sammie and Slate along the way as well. A risky pregnancy for Sammie requires the family to pull together and Lindsey’s life suddenly becomes increasingly complicated.

There is a budding romance on the horizon for Lindsey with a wealthy, Ivy-League type guy she meets at school by the name of Kyzer Stanfield. Kyzer’s interest in Lindsey does not sit well for Taz. When Lindsey must leave school to return home to help her mother, Taz is relieved that she will be distanced from the pursuit of Kyzer. . . but not for long.

Things are never quite as they seem. Lindsey will learn a brutal lesson about trust, compassion and strength. Taz will learn lessons about love, intimacy and honor, and that sometimes doing the right thing has consequences.

Warning: Explicit Sex, contains rape scene

Crystal’s Review:
I read the first book of this series and loved it. I couldn’t wait to see what else this author had in store. When I seen that Lindsay and Taz were getting their book I had to read this one.

Lindsay Dennison’s life is turned upside down when she realizes the kind of marriage her parents had and when she finds out what her father had been hiding. She likes it that her mom has finally found a man to love her like Eric Slate. Now she has a little brother and she has a better family. She is still hurt about what her father did.

Trace “Taz” Matthews has feelings for Lindsay but knows he has to stay away from her. She isn’t the woman that he needs. He loves the women that knows the score and loves it hard. There is just something about Lindsay that gets under his skin and he can’t seem to stop thinking about her.

Lindsay and Taz have a lot that is against them with their relationship. She’s in college and he is a FBI agent who is taking college classes at night. He also knows that when Slate finds out what he is doing with his step-daughter things will really hit the fan. Add on knowing that Lindsay has someone after her and her mom’s health has went down since she found out she was pregnant again.

This book was exciting and things that happened in this book made me cry and I wanted to murder some people myself. The author did a great job writing this story. I just got so lost in the book and I can’t wait to read the next book. I know that it will be even more exciting.

Review- Diamond Girl – Andrea Smith

diamondgirl

In the fall of 2010, thirty-five year old Samantha Dennison sending her only child off to college and is generally feeling F-R-U-M-P-Y. Her loveless marriage to ‘the mannequin’ has become intolerable; her daughter and best friend have both advised ‘Sammie’ to get a life of her own. Her husband has his own agenda which does not include her.

Sammie finally heeds their advice and starts with a Kickboxing/Pilates class; ultimately, learning to pole dance. From there, she is well on her way to finally carving out a secret life and identity all of her own. The thrill of the dance and sexuality she discovers within herself is a potent mixture. She gets a part-time job as a dancer in an Indianapolis Gentleman’s Club called Jewels. She becomes the dancer known as ‘Diamond’ and very quickly catches the attention of a ‘bad-boy’ biker named ‘Slate.’

Slate is the ultimate ‘alpha’ male; however there is a problem: he simply wants it to be about exclusive sex; Sammie wants and needs more from Slate. Sammie is certain that she has embarked on a dangerous, cougar-type relationship with the twenty-something biker and ‘prospect’ member of the notorious Outlaw Motorcycle Club. She soon finds out that she is totally out of her league with Slate and the dangerous people he associates with in Indianapolis during the summer of 2012. Something big is brewing in Indy; it ain’t about race cars either.

‘Diamond Girl’ will keep the reader on the edge of their seat from beginning to end; this book has it all: passion, erotica, romance, danger and possibly more . . . much more.

Crystal’s Review

Samantha Dennison’s life has revolved around her daughter and now that she is off to college. Samantha just has her husband. She starts to realize that she has nothing in common with her husband. He just married her because she ended up pregnant and becasue her dad had money and was well known in the town. She listens to her daughter and her friend and finally does something for herself.

Samantha finds a part-time job woking as a pole dancer at the gentlemen’s club named Jewel. All the women have jewel names. Samantha is given the name of Diamond. Everything is great until the bikers come in and she meets this man named Slate. You know that Slate is hiding something but you just don’t know what. I really feel in love with this man. At times he did come across as having a little too much ego.

I just saw the cover of this book and read the blurb. I knew it was the kind of book that I would enjoy. I never knew what kind of adventure that I would be taken on. Sammie is a woman that is easy to understand and love. I understand why she did what she did. I just don’t understand why she stayed with her husband as long as she did. I knew that Slate was the man for her even though he acted so big and bad.

This is a book that makes me want to read more and see what happens next. Sammie has a great daughter that acts nothing like her dad and I really want to read the next book in this series.

Crystal’s Review:

Toni is taking a break at her best friends cabin in the Carolina Mountains. She has been on jury duty and just sentenced this guy. He said he would get pay back. Her friend calls to tell her that two of the people in the jury have been killed and she needs to call the police. Toni thinks she will be ok because she is out in the middle of nowhere. She was wrong. On her way to get away from the people who are trying to kill her she gets saved by this thing that has a big shadow.

Cormac is the leader of the Oh-Mah which we call Bigfoot. After years of mating with humans they are no longer hairy but they sure are tall. Cormac has decided to take Toni as his mater and will mate with her at the ritual that is old as time.

This was a pretty good book. I love reading books like this that tells stories of things we heard about growing up. I wonder if I would do what Toni did if I was taken by a being like Cormac. Knowing my luck I would’ve meet with one that was abusive and treated me badly. I want to read more about these Oh-Mah people and see what the future holds. I will say that if you love books that have really hot sex in them, this is the book for you.

Kellie is a reporter who wants to make the front page of the Adelaide newspaper by finding the Parklands Killer. Instead she stumbles straight into a vampire fight and she is the trophy being fought for.

Kellie has never let anyone into her life since her mother’s death, and isn’t going to let the mysterious Trent get under her skin. As for Trent, he may have found the one woman he could love but he will have to stop Rogue vampires who want to kidnap her, and vampire hunters who want to kill him.

Crystal’s review
Trent Feldor is a Seeker Vampire that kills the vampires that have went rogue. He is in the middle of killing one when he scents a human female and knows he needs to kill the rogue before he gets to her. Trent gets Kellie to spend one whole night with him and he tells her what he is. She knows that he will erase her memories the next morning but she wants to remember him.

Kellie was a little girl when she witnessed the killing of her mother. It has haunted her all her life. She doesn’t let herself trust or get close to anyone. She makes sure she is in control and for some reason she has a job as a reporter. She has been in a relationship with Trent for two months and knows she is falling for him. Only thing is she has had her memories taken away.

I have to say that I loved this book. It was short but don’t let that fool you. I liked the storyline and enjoyed the characters. This book even has some surprises in store for the readers. I have not read a book by this author and I think she is new to writing. If she decides to write more I will make sure that I read them. I hated reaching the last page. This would make a wonderful series if she decides to do that.

Review – A Mating Dance – Lia Davis

AMatingDance72
Senior enforcer, Cameron Nickels has found her perfect mate. Blaine Andrews, leopard Pack Marshal, is strong, dominate, loyal, and passionate. He knows all her strengths and weaknesses–not to mention her pleasure points. Cam’s known Blaine most her life, but she’s always felt like something was missing and her jaguar refuses to fully accept him. Yet, she can’t walk away from him. When architect and sexy mountain lion shifter, Graham Griffin, comes to town to design the new den nursery and school, Cameron finds herself in a mating dance that throws her and her jaguar into flight mode while Blaine must decide if he cannot only share his mate, but welcome another.

After his lover walked out on him a year ago, Graham has no intentions of entering another relationship any time soon. But he realizes that the fates have other plans for him when he meets Blaine and Cameron. When his ex-lover’s children are chased into Ashwood territory by a group of rogues, he discovers the male he shared a life with had died freeing the kids from the Onyx Pack. Graham must work side-by-side with the two enforcers to uncover lies from the past while his heart opens to his true mates.

Warning: Contains one-hot headed leopard, a man who thought he’d lost it all, and a woman who is about to rub up against both in the best possible ways.

Crystal’s Review
I have been wanting to read this book for awhile and I was happy when I finally had the chance to get it and read it. I have read several books by this author and I have really gotten into reading stories that have menages in them.

Cameron Nickels is the senior enforcer in the pack. She knows how to get the job done. She has been in the mating dance with Blaine Andrews who is the leopard pack marshall. Her jaguar still feels like there is still something missing and she can’t seem to commit to him. She is also trying to get over the lose of her baby. She feels like she will never be able to carry a cub to full term. Everything changes when Graham Griffin comes to the pack.

Graham has never been in a relationship with a female and can’t understand what it is about Cam that calls to him. He also wants Blaine and that doesn’t surprise him. He is just here to help out his brother until his ex lovers children are found and he has to find out what happened. Graham seems to have a lot of things going on.

This was a really hot and sexy book. It had a great storyline and to help it out it was about shifters and a threesome. There is nothing better than getting to read a book like this one. I couldn’t put it down and wanted it to keep going. I can’t wait to read the next book to see what happens next. I will warn you that this book contains scenes with M/F/M, M/M, and M/F. It is a great story and the author did a wonderful job working with all three characters.
