Review- Loving the Omega- Carrie Ann Ryan

loving the omegaMaddox Jamenson almost lost his mate before he knew she existed, but his life is now exactly how he’d dreamed it. The war with the Centrals is over, and his family is healing one day at a time. Ellie is reveling in the simple perfection that is her life and family now, but that doesn’t mean she can shed the self-doubts and concerns that come with being a new mother, mate, and Redwood.
When a disturbance in their quiet life threatens to ruin everything they’ve fought for, Maddox and Ellie will have to learn not only to rely on each other more than ever, but find within themselves the power to forgive.
Author’s Note: This is a novella set after book 7 to give you a taste of Maddox and Ellie. It is best that you have already immersed yourselves in the Redwood Pack world, however even new readers will enjoy a glimpse of one of the Redwood’s favorite couples

Tamara’s Review

I enjoyed this look into the life of Maddox and Ellie. I have to admit, I have Fighting Fate on Kindle, but because I received Loving the Omega for review, I read it, even though I haven’t yet read Fighting Fate.
While these books are meant to be able to be read as stand alone, there were spoilers in Loving the Omega that made me wish I’d read Fighting Fate first. So, if you are following the series, I recommend you read it in order.
My only complaint about Loving the Omega was that it ended it bit abruptly, in my opinion. That’s why I am giving it a 4 instead of a 5 heart review. I reached the end and went “That’s it?” I wanted to turn the page and keep going!
As Always, Carrie Ann gave us a great story, with high emotions and suspense. The time line jumps several years into the future, and it was good to see how things are turning out for the Redwoods.
I can’t wait for the continuation of the series with the Talon pack.

Review- Exquisite Trouble- Ann Mayburn

exquisite TroubleBefore I met Smoke I’d never been kissed, really kissed, by a man, let alone a biker sex god bent on taking my virginity and my heart.

I got dragged into the deadly world of the Iron Horse MC by my crazy twin sister who is engaged to the club’s President and the schemes of my even crazier mom who only cares about herself. Smoke has been assigned by the club to keep me safe even though he’s everything that I should be afraid of. He’s the kind of man who lives by his own rules and does whatever he wants whenever he wants, but he treats me like I’m something rare and precious, not a socially dysfunctional basket case who has no idea how to love, but needs him more than her next breath.

Not that my feelings matter, because if we don’t find my mother soon, the only thing I’ll have to be worried about is who is going to kill me first

Tamara’s Review

Wow, wow, wow! What a hot start to a new series for Ann Mayburn. I love Ann and Exquisite Trouble rocked my world. A look deeply into the MC lifestyle, rife with danger, excitement and mystery. Hot motorcycle riding heroes and their odd group of “old ladies.”
I loved every minute of this book… until I reached the end. Then I wanted to grab Ann by the neck and strangle her! Cliffhanger! Gah!
The characters in Exquisite Trouble twisted your brain. Hard, dangerous men. I won’t tell you how they came by their “street names”, but the origin of Smoke’s moniker is enough to make you afraid to close your eyes at night. However, though he is deadly and quick to anger, when it comes to Swan, he has the patience of a saint.
I loved the relationship between Swan and Smoke. The easy way he accepts her idiosyncrasies and laughs off her “bitchiness.”
Swan was a crazy mix of innocence and strength. Raised in a cloistered environment, Swan has been shielded from the “real” world, but exposed to things most “normal” people will never encounter. Consequently, she shows absolutely no fear. The more uncomfortable she becomes, the more sarcastic her mouth runs.
I could not put this book down. If you are a fan of MC romance, Exquisite Trouble is right up your alley. If, like me, you are new to this genre, Exquisite Trouble will hook you and reel you in.
I highly recommend this steamy, edge of your seat romance. I can’t wait for book 2! Write fast Ann I NEED to know what happens next!

Review- Tangled Innocence- Carrie Ann Ryan

Humans aren’t as alone as they choose to believe. Every human possesses a trait of supernatural that lays dormant within their genetic make-up. Centuries of diluting and breeding have allowed humans to think they are alone and untouched by magic. But what happens when something changes?

As one of the seven lightning struck women, Nadie Morgan has known for a while now that her fate would be forever changed…and revolve around a certain dragon. From the first time Dante Bell saw Nadie, he knew she was the one for him. There’s just one problem–there’s another in his life he’s waiting on as well.

When Jace Goodwin, a bear shifter and Mediator, finally comes back to the human realm after years away under circumstances out of his control, his first stop is to Dante’s Circle where he not only finds his dragon, but the woman they both have been waiting for.

Once secrets are told and the sparks fly, Nadie’s new life becomes something she never thought possible. However there’s another realm at play and Jace and Nadie’s dragon will have to fight harder than he’s ever fought before to keep the life he’s waited eons for.

Warning: Contains one not-so-innocent human, a bear known for his bear-hugs, a tattooed and pierced dragon with a fiery temper, and a connection so explosive, you’ll be fanning yourself from page one

Tamara’s Review
I’ve been waiting a long time for Tangled Innocence. I was dying to learn Dante’s secrets. I have to say though, I was a little disappointed in this story. Usually Carrie Ann is all about the emotional connection between her characters, it’s one of the reasons I love her books so much. In Tangled Innocence I just didn’t feel that connection.
I wanted to see more interaction between Jace, Nadie and Dante. The highest emotions I felt in Tangled Innocence were for secondary characters.
There is a lot of action in Tangled Innocence. We finally get a look at the behind the scenes machinations of the counsel and the cause of the seven lightening struck. So, some of the unanswered questions are resolved. I don’t want to give spoilers, but suffice it to say, Dante’s “secret” was highly relevant to his current situation and I would have liked to have had a more complete telling of the tale. (I know ambiguous much)
What I did like about Tangled Innocence was Jace. Man I loved that bear. I really liked how Jace connected to both Dante and Nadie. He was the strength they both needed, but wasn’t overbearing (haha) I loved his family and his loyalty.
In summary, Tangled Innocence is a fast paced, action packed, thrill ride of a read, with some uber hot love scenes, but it left me feeling like I still didn’t really know the hearts of the trio. Not a swing and a miss, but definitely not a homerun either, in my opinion.
