Lady Guardians: Forgiven
by Reana Malori
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Geneva Powers had experienced one of the worst days of her career.
She played the corporate game every day for the past ten years and
enjoyed the life she’d built. Straddling two worlds was never easy,
but she’d done just that for many years. During the day, she was a
mild-mannered financial guru in a world of suits. But in her free
time, away from the clean-cut world of numbers, she was a Lady
Guardian. Riding her bike in the open air with the hum of the engine
underneath her, was the only time she felt free to be herself. Due to
some underhanded dealings at her office, her two worlds were about to
collide in a most glorious way.
Jamison Reed just wanted a good burger and a cold beer.
He was a war veteran, a businessman, and a biker all rolled into one.
The night he caught sight of the beautiful woman walking into his
favorite bar, all those labels fell to the side. At that moment, he
was simply a man. A man who wanted to claim the woman who had a body
made for loving. It was only supposed to be one night. Just enough to
get her out of his system. That small taste of her wasn’t enough
and now he wants more. When danger comes to her doorstep, he knows
there’s no one else better to protect Geneva. His need to protect
her was too great and he would let nothing come between him and his

Twists of Fate ~ Christina OW Author Spotlight

Author Spotlight

Christina OW writes suspense, thrillers, erotica, interracial and multicultural romance books. She is the author of Contemporary, Fantasy, Paranormal Romance books and a poet of currently 3 titles. She loves reading novels that take her on a ride of wild emotions. Books have always been an escape for her, for a few hours she gets to live the lives of characters she grows to cherish and admire. She’s always had an active imagination and because of it has lived in her head more than she has been in the outside world. She always imagined scenarios and wondered how they would turn out in the end, and what kind of emotions they would invoke. Thus began her writing career.

  1. What genre(s) do you write? Romance in contemporary, paranormal and fantasy. My characters are IR/MC couples.

  1. What was the hardest part of writing your book? The writing. There is this meme about having voices in your head. For authors we need those voices, those characters, in writing the book because when they go silent, I end up staring at a blank page for hours even days. It’s not fun at all especially when there deadline is looming in the horizon.

  1. Are you a plotter or a pantser? Before I begin a book, I plot it out. How I would like it to begin, the climax, the conflict and finally the ending. But sometimes the book takes a life of it’s on and the only thing that stuck to the plan was the beginning.

  1. How long have you been a writer? Five years.

  1. How much time did it take from writing your first book to having it published? The first book I ever wrote just got published in January- Fate Reborn. So I would say from the first word written to publication, four and a half years.

  1. What other careers have you had? I have a BA in International Studies and Communications & Media, and a Diploma in Law. I worked at a law firm, and a fashion house while studying. But at the moment, I’m a writer and a fashion designer. This is where the ‘We make plans and God laughs’ joke comes in.

  1. What else would you like readers to know about you or your work? My books are just different social circumstances and how I think I would react to them. For example, a cheating boyfriend? Would I just burst up his stuff or other things on his body his emotionally attached to?

  1. What is your favorite vacation spot? Mombasa, Kenya. It’s beautiful, it’s hot and has the best night life during the holidays. It’s also home, nothing beats that.

  1. Which food could you not live without? I would wither away without chocolate.

  1. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you travel? There is just something about Italy that has me drooling over it.

  1. Do you have siblings? What was it like growing up with them? Yes, a twin, and an older sister. Growing up, let’s just say, it was complicated. No one likes to share but people seem to think just because you’re a twin, it’s a given.

  1. Do you have a favorite snacks that you drink when you write? Orange juice, chutney chips and chocolate chip cookies

TwistsofFate_MEDBook Blurb:

Worse than that, Steve in the worst form possible is back to haunt me. And Ash with his hug archaic pride just won’t let it go. Oh, but I haven’t gotten to the worst part yet…hell!

Shoot3 Finalnew

Sex Is Better Than Love
Three months after he escaped from Big Sandy Federal Prison, Devin “Dro” Dunbar was ready to make shit happen. Externally, he presented the Dunbar strength, the demeanor that revealed he was in control and not to be fucked with. On the other hand, internally, he felt a sense of loss and pain so severe that he couldn’t verbalize it. Imagine being locked up for thirty years, your family turning their backs on you, and practically leaving you for dead. That alone would defeat most men. Most wouldn’t be able to handle it. However, Dro refused to be defeated by their betrayal. He was determined to live off the hate he had developed in his heart for both his brothers, Pops and Donavan.
Over five years ago, when Tank appeared in the visitation room of the federal prison and introduced himself as Dro’s son, a new life opened up for Dro–a life with family that would ride with you no matter what. The bond that was developed between father and son overshadowed the years that neither of them knew about the other. It was a connection that surpassed the bars and walls which separated them. Their relationship even transcended death–which extinguished his son, Tank’s life.
These thoughts were swimming through Dro’s head as he sucked on her nipples like a baby attempting to get its fill. He made the decision to put those thoughts aside and enjoy a man’s most desired pleasure, being inside of a woman.
Skin slapped together making the sound of a fast beating bongo drum; the sweet smell of sexual pleasure saturated the air just as a waterfall of sweat began pouring down their faces. They weren’t making love; they were fucking. There was no other way to describe it. Dro was giving her the business. It was hard to believe he was fifty years old and had been locked up in a federal prison for the best years of his life. Even so, prison has a way of preserving you, keeping your mind, body, and soul young and hungry. Dro wasn’t starved for sex. Back at Big Sandy Penitentiary, he put dick to a rotation of female guards, but it had been decades since he was able to make a woman moan freely and slap her ass while she rode him like a stallion. Slapping her ass is exactly what he was doing as he flipped her onto her back then drove his thickness into her core. Screams of pleasure emanating from her mouth were a welcomed sound for Dro, which urged him to continue to hit the spot that would cause her body to convulse beneath him.
Watching Tempest’s eyes roll into the back of her head assured Dro she was not only getting her feel of dick, but enjoying every minute of it. For two months, they had been fucking. It started almost by accident. Dro believed they were both grieving and missing Tank and looking to comfort each other. Born and Lavern didn’t know about the extracurricular activities; Tempest wanted to leave it that way. Dro didn’t care one way or the other. He wasn’t in love with Tempest and knew she wasn’t in love with him. They were both using each other, and getting their rocks off in the process.
After another satisfying experience, Dro grabbed the beer that he had sitting on the nightstand while Tempest made her way to the shower. Born and Lavern would be arriving shortly to map out the final plan to return to Virginia and shut shit down.

Enjoy the following excerpt for Midwife to Destiny:

Ora focused on putting one foot in front of the other as if she were a one-year-old learning how to walk. After turning the corner and seeing the back of his head, she froze. She would know that head anywhere. He’d grown his hair out a little, but his adorable, Will Smith ears gave him away. Initiating the process of pivoting and sprinting out of the ED unnoticed sprang to mind when he turned around and his gaze caught hers.

The air became charged with tension and neither of them moved. Her heart threatened to pop out of her chest with the force of each beat. The nurses stood between them, looking back and forth as if they watched a tennis match. They didn’t bother to hide their expressions of curiosity.

They’d never seen Ora behave in such a manner. Not cool as a cucumber super nurse. Like herself, they kept looking at the new doctor just because of his tall, broad-shouldered, gorgeous stature. The past three years had matured him, adding a few lines around his eyes and the new feature of a goatee with a moustache changed his countenance a little. But otherwise, the same man she’d met three years ago, at least in the physical sense, stood before her.

After an eternity, Ora snapped back to attention. “Akwaaba, Dr. Lartey. Welcome to the ward.” Madam Professional stuck out her hand for a handshake.

Her words seemed to drag him out of his own stupor. “Uh….”

She had rendered the man speechless. Ora’s gracious nature—that’s what she blamed it on, anyway—took pity on him and she touched his shoulder. The contact sent sensual awareness through her and she recoiled her hand.

“Hello, Aurora. Please forgive me. It’s just that I’m a little surprised to see you.”

“Not as much as I am,” she muttered, attempting to squash both the joy bubbling up inside of her at seeing him again and the overwhelming sadness of what she’d been missing for so long.

“Pardon me?” he asked.

“I didn’t expect to see you here. It’s a surprise to me, too.” She tried to smile, but it came out contorted, as if she’d been able to have a painful, rocky bowel movement after being constipated for seven days.

Book Spotlight – The Right Kind of Love – Roxy Wilson

Roxy1The Right Kind of Love
by Roxy Wilson

New Yorker Sloane Saunders has just about given up on love. She’s thirty-something and very single. A magazine article jolts her from her malaise and motivates her to do something she’s never tried before: online dating, and firstmeet.com is the website of choice.
Attending his brother’s bachelor party was the wake-up call Blake Morrison needed. Memories of a passionate relationship from his past drive him to return to claim his woman. Sloane. Despite the sizzling chemistry between them, it’s not as easy as he thought. With a family crisis and Sloane’s preconceived notions about love and relationships getting in the way, can Blake convince Sloane they have the right kind of love and that a love like theirs can last?

“Why am I doing this, again?”
Sloane stared at the matchmaking website. Firstmeet.com. It promised to make falling in love easy. Then why was her chest so tight? Why did she feel like Atlas, with the weight of the heavens on her shoulders? Were these signs that her foray into online dating could turn out to be one of the horror stories she’d heard on the news? With her luck she’d end up meeting a catfish who created a false identity and made a complete fool of her. Not in a million years would she have believed she would resort to this.
Do I really need to do this? Is it worth the risk? No. Maybe I shouldn’t bother. I should just be content living alone, and using my Hitachi Magic Wand when I feel the need for some adventure in the bedroom.
“You know what?” Sloane moved the cursor to the Log Out icon. “Maybe this isn’t such a good idea after all.” Just when she was about to click on the icon, Harper’s words came swimming up to the surface of her consciousness—Open yourself up to new possibilities, and maybe, just maybe, you might get your happily-ever-after.
Sloane lifted her eyes toward the ceiling. “Harper, you’re not even here, and you’re messing with my head.” She looked at the monitor and saw she had a million questions to answer before she completed her profile.
She inhaled a deep breath. “Okay, here goes.”
The questionnaire was exasperating. She couldn’t believe it went so far as to ask her to select what she’d do if she won the state lottery. How about all of the above? Sheesh. Sloane used the Eeny meeny miny moe rhyme to choose an answer, since all of the above wasn’t one of the options.
Twenty minutes later, Sloane completed the online form and paid the subscription fee. She took her shower and was just about to wrap the bath towel around her body, when she heard the doorbell. She wasn’t in the mood for visitors. Not when she needed to get ready to head out in a few minutes. The NHL games attracted large crowds, so everyone knew how important it was to arrive there early to get the coveted seats. Whoever was outside continued to press the doorbell, making Sloane more and more irritated by the second.
“Enough already, I’m coming,” Sloane muttered. She dried her skin briskly. Who could possibly be disturbing her peace this early on a Sunday morning? Don’t people understand the concept of weekends? It’s Sunday, for crying out loud. She rushed to her drawer and grabbed some clothing, along with her under-things. It didn’t seem as if Sloane could put her clothes on fast enough for her impatient, unwelcome guest.
By the time Sloane reached the hallway, the shrill sounds of the doorbell seemed to touch the most sensitive part of her nerves. She barely restrained herself from shoving her fist into her mouth to prevent herself from screaming. Sloane opened the door, not too gently. Belatedly, she thought how foolish it was to not check the peephole before opening the door. When she saw the man standing before her, her last-minute fear vanished.
The first thing that caught her attention was the width of his shoulders. It was one of the things about a man’s physique that got her going. Sloane believed only other full-figured women would understand the rare delight she felt in the moment, to be standing next to a man with such broad shoulders. Sloane was sure she would feel protected, and oh-so-delicate, if he wrapped his arms around her. It was a sensation she didn’t often enjoy with the opposite sex. It would feel so good to be an elf, a dainty little thing, needing protection, in his presence. Sloane mentally shook herself out of the fixation on the man’s shoulders, and allowed her eyes to track upwards.
“What the—” Her voice trailed off as she peered into cyan-blue eyes. She felt like her eyes were going to pop out of her head, as she looked into the all-too-familiar crooked, dimpled smile of the man who’d haunted her naughtiest dreams for ages.

Review By Tamara

A healing Love is a very different kind of romance. While there is certainly a romantic element to the story, in my opinion A Healing Love is more a story of… well just like to title says, the healing power of love. Not just romantic love, but all kinds of love. The support of family and friends is so important when trying to overcome an obstacle, be it physical or emotional.

Kimberly has faced more than any one woman should have to in her very short life. Her strength and determination are phenomenal. She doesn’t always go about it the right way, it takes her time to learn to accept help. But, she is such a wonderful character.

Carlos has his own demons to deal with, and Kimberly’s past, along with his inappropriate attraction to her, bring them all to the surface.

I couldn’t put A Healing Love down. I had to know how it was going to end! While A Healing Love deals with some difficult subject matter, it does it in a manner that leaves you feeling uplifted and empowered. It also highlights the difficulties that differently abled people face in our world, from pitying looks, to being spoken to as if you are a child. Kimberly’s take charge attitude made me smile. She never lets anyone get away with talking around her, she jumps right in amd puts them in their place. You go girl!

The love scenes between Carlos and Kimberly were sweet, sensual and handled perfectly. I loved these two damaged, but not broken heroes. An SSLY recommended read!
