Beverly and Tamara: Welcome to SSLY. Thanks so much for joining us today. So first why don’t you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Inger Iversen. I am from Virginia Beach. My favorite color is blue and I have a fat cat named, Max! 🙂
Tamara: What do you HAVE to have when you are writing?
I have to have MUSIC. It drowns out all the other distracting noises and then puts me in the mood to create.
Beverly: When did you start to write, who influenced you?
I started about three and a half years ago. My first short story, Knight’s Fire was never released and is sitting on my computer right now, lol. I think I was influenced most by Elizabeth Chandler’s book, Kissed by an Angel. I even have a cover for it:
Tamara: What do you think are the qualities that make up a “hero”?
Hmm.. Well, I love a bad boy with a good heart.
Beverly: Mmmm. Don’t we all! Can you describe your favorite character? And which of your books is he/she in? How do you come up with your characters?
I love Patch from Hush Hush. Normally my characters are people I know or just completely made up. Ella is a part of me and any other person who has lost a parent, Kale is just a man that has lost all faith in the world around him, Alex is actually my friend Alex, who has the world at his fingertips and is smart, handsome and funny and Mia is that broken and angry girl that needs a shoulder to cry on.
Tamara: What are the hardest scenes for you to write? Suspense? Sex? Dialogue? And why?
In Immortal Heart there is a love scene at the end of the book and I struggled with how far I should take it, but in the end I realized that my characters were all of age and sex in this book was destined to happen. lol Here is a sneak peek:
He refused to believe that he’d never have a chance to do it after this. His last memory was of falling asleep in the snow only a few feet from her home, but he wouldn’t believe that this was a dream. It felt too real.
Hélène’s warm body responded to his touches, and her lips melded with his as he kissed her. Kale wouldn’t allow reality to steal the sweet taste of her lips against his, the feel of her delicate fingers as they combed through his hair, the allure of her pulse as it beat faster.
He deepened the kiss. She was his. He’d died for her, and his rebirth had been for her—only her. How could he let her go? How did he continue to live without her now?
She pulled away, breathless, but Kale couldn’t let her escape. He’d breathe for her if he could, but his lips belonged nowhere but on hers. His hands had no home but on her skin. She’d stolen his heart and now that she was there, he could feel the rhythmic thump in his chest that signaled that he was alive.
Tamara: Who would you choose as your “book boyfriend/girlfriend”? From what book? Author?
I’ve said Patch like a million times and I’ll say it again, Patch. That boy is so hot!!
Beverly: What is the kinkiest thing you’ve ever done? Or would like to? What? We are all about the love!
Haha! Well, I’d like to think that I’m more sweet than kinky, BUT I’ve always wondered about handcuffs and with that, on to the next question!!
Tamara: *handing over furry cuffs to Inger* Enjoy! I have absolutely no idea of how these got here! What are your favorite types of heroines? Do you like the damsel in distress who needs saving or the kick-ass variety? Why?
Here’s the thing, I can’t stand an overly kick-ass female character. I mean, yes, I am woman hear me roar, BUT sometimes it’s nice to let the guy save the day. As long as you aren’t falling and tripping out of your heels. 🙂 Like Dru in Strange Angels. She is kick-ass with the help of her male counterparts.
Beverly: What was your worst date ever?
OMG, this “dude” continuously called me DUDE throughout the whole date. I was like, “Hey, I have lady parts!! Stop calling me dude, I don’t like it!” Now, we are currently friends and he still calls me, DUDE. lol
Tamara: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you? (You have food, water, shelter, all the necessities, so nothing mundane)
1. Tampons
2. Alcide from True Blood
3. My cell phone. Yeah, I know there’d be no signal, but just holding it my hands would remind me of the good ole days 🙂
Beverly: What is your “guilty pleasure”?
Justin Bieber’s song “As Long As You Love Me”. Don’t judge me.
Beverly: *runs screaming from the room*
Tamara: What dream or goals have you yet to realize?
Honestly, to be a mother. It’s the 22nd and today is my birthday and I turned 31 today. I always wanted to be a mother by 30.
Beverly: *creeps back in* Sorry! Happy Birthday! What was your most embarrassing moment or the craziest thing you’ve done? C’mon dish!
Okay, okay. When I went on the date with a semi cute, but super smart guy he opened the door to the car and let me in. Unfortunately, for him I’d passed gas. Fortunately for me, he never mentioned it, but he also never called me again.
Tamara: *snorts* If you were a color what would you be and why?
Yellow. Because I am always super cautious! Even about silly things like a knock as the door.
Beverly: Hmm I thought yellow meant go faster! How do you know you’re in love?
Hell if I know, I just woke up one morning and realized that I couldn’t live without the snoring butthole at my side. Josh, I love you 🙂
Beverly: LOL! Such a joy!
Now for some quick fun questions:
Boxers or briefs? Briefs- Love me some grape smugglers 🙂
Coffee or Tea? Tea- Iced and sweet.
Tall, dark and handsome or Blond and buff? Tall, dark, handsome and dangerous.
Hairy chest or smooth? A light smattering of hair.
Chocolate or Vanilla? Vanilla
Kinky or Sweet? Hmmm…Sweet
Fast or slow? Slow and steady wins the race 😉
Public or private? Private
Top or bottom? Top 🙂
Beverly: And Inger just for you! Happy Birthday! *plugs ears*

Enter the shrouded world of an age old battle between an ancient race known as the Immortals and their bitter enemy Laurent, the so-called Dark Prince, who commands an army of half-breed vampires known as Chorý. Both sides have been desperately searching for the prophesied emergence of the Arc, a clairvoyant with unparalleled power to recall the past and a soothsayer with clear vision into the future.
The Council of Immortals has sworn to protect the Arc, whom they have identified as young Ella Monroe, a college freshman from Virginia living quietly and unaware of her powers or her past. But a renegade Chorý has other plans for the protection of a girl he has loved through the ages. Can Kale convince Ella of who she is, what she is destined to become, and what he once meant to her? Is he truly the best protector to shield the world from the devastating misuse of her powers that Laurent is bent on controlling? Or will the forbidden love they share and Kale’s cursed condition as a wretched and hated Chorý be used against them both?
This paranormal romance told from the heroine’s perspective builds in intensity and intrigue to a finale you won’t see coming. Heart pounding action mixed with heartwarming friendships and heartbreaking romance will leave you breathless and begging for more.
Excerpt:
Quicker than Kale thought possible, Sola got Giovanni inside his home and limped back down the driveway. Gingerly pulling herself into the passenger seat, she sighed and leaned her head back into the headrest. Kale started the car, and he and Sola drove in silence, other than her quiet directions back to her apartment.
“You’re hurt,” Kale stated as they pulled up in front of her apartment building.
She opened her palm and looked at the dried blood. “It’s not that bad.”
“Not there.” He leaned over and gently placed a hand on Sola’s hip. She flinched. He tilted his head up to capture her gaze. “You’re hurt there, and it’s probably going to bruise.”
Kale leaned in closer and grabbed the hem of her shirt, lightly pulling it up to reveal a small strip of smooth brown skin. He froze, staring at it. Her scent was amazing, and her heart sped up. He had never been so entranced by the smell of vanilla in his life; but tonight, with her, it smelled stronger, more potent, and Kale wondered why his hormones wanted to start acting up now, of all times.
“Wait.” Sola grabbed his arm.
Kale realized he’d gone too far. He’d just wanted to see how bad the bruise was, but he was crossing the line by touching her. “Shit,” he said softly, pulling away from her. “Sorry, I just wanted to see—”
Sola pulled up her shirt and lowered her waist of her jeans a little, moving her body forward for him to see.
“Is it bad?” she asked, referring to the bruise that was probably now in full view, but Kale couldn’t take his eyes off of hers. Sola raised a brow and smirked. “Hello?”
Kale cleared his throat and looked down at the purple and black bruise. He assumed that the frown on his face must have scared her because she pulled her shirt up further.
“How can you see anything in here? It’s too freaking dark! Turn on the overhead light so I can see!” Sola twisted and turned her head, trying to see her injury in the dark.
Kale reached above them and clicked on the light. He leaned near her again to inspect her side. When he lifted his face, he was nose-to-nose with her. Her eyes widened, her warm breath caressed his cheeks, and the heat from her skin singed his face.
He pulled back immediately and swallowed the lump that formed in his throat. “Pull your shirt down,” he demanded, instantly regretting the harshness in his tone. He turned to Sola and smiled. Relieved that her shirt was down and her eyes no longer on him, he finally answered her question. “It’s not too bad, but you should put some ice on it. Do you feel like you pulled anything?”
Sola faced him. Kale hadn’t meant to confuse her, but the frown on her face told him that he’d done that and more. One second, he had his hands on her as if he was attracted to her; and the next, he was giving her the cold shoulder. Kale had dealt with plenty of females who acted so fickle, but he was proving that men could be the same way.
“Sola, it’s late and—”
“Yeah, I know it’s late, and you’re ready to go,” Sola reached for the handle of the door and started to open it. “Sorry for all of the drama tonight.”
Kale grabbed Sola’s arm before she had a chance to get out. “No.” He waited for her to look at him before he spoke again. “I was saying that I’m tired, so please forgive my grumpiness.”
He smiled, hoping that he’d convinced her that she’d done nothing wrong. As fed up as he was with Gio, he still enjoyed the time me and Sola had spent together before the drama started.
“Okay, and no, I don’t think I pulled anything. It is sore, though.”
Sola gently pulled away. He let go of her arm, and she rubbed her bruised side.
“Do you need help getting upstairs to your place?” The moment the words came out of his mouth, Kale heard Sola take a shuddering breath, and her heart sped up at his innocent request.
“Um.” That time it was Sola who cleared her throat and swallowed the lump that had settled there. “I think I can manage. Thanks.”
Sola ducked out of the vehicle and shut the door before Kale had a chance to respond, leaving him sitting there.
