EXCERPT

“Ms. Roberts, your testing is complete.”

That voice. Damn it, I knew that voice, but I didn’t want to come back. I wanted to stay with my mates. “My mates.” I hated the choking pain I heard in my own voice, but I couldn’t stop the protest. No one had ever touched me like that, made me feel like I was his, no their, world.

“All in good time, Ms. Roberts.” That matter-of-fact tone brought me fully back to reality, and I recognized the firm press of the testing chair beneath me. This place, it was like going to the dentist, a necessary evil. But this was no ordinary dentist’s chair. I was locked down, wrists, waist and ankles secured with padded buckles like I was some kind of dangerous criminal.

But then, sometimes the women in this chair were criminals. Just not me. I was a volunteer. I had nothing left on this rock called Earth. After I’d caught my ex-fiancé sleeping with my roommate, I’d dumped his ass and taken the new job at the observatory on the big island of Hawaii, thinking the stars I loved so much would distract me from what a low-life loser I’d almost married.

Instead, those small twinkling lights had called to me. I had been staring up at the stars for almost as long as I could remember, the obsession never leaving me, not even when I graduated after finishing my Masters and started my career in astronomy. Fifteen years ago, when I’d gotten my first telescope for my birthday, actually going out there hadn’t been an option. There was no space travel. No aliens. Nothing. We’d been alone in the universe.

But now? Now we humans knew the truth. Earth was one of almost three hundred planets being protected by the Interstellar Coalition Fleet. Without theCoalition, Earth would fall prey to the Hive, a scary-as-fuck race of freakish biosynthetic cyborgs that consumed new races and new planets to feed their never-ending need to expand. Grow. Conquer.

They reminded me of the Borg from Star Trek, but I kept that opinion to myself at the office. Hell, everywhere. Half of the people thought the whole thing was a hoax and conspiracy to convince humanity to send sacrificial lambs up into space for freakish alien breeding programs, or as expendable soldiers for nothing but suicide missions.

I didn’t believe the conspiracy theory websites. Not just because my mother was a NASA engineer and knew more about what was going on than most, but because there were a handful of warriors who’d come home after serving their two years. I’d made a point of tracking them down, reading their interviews, visiting as many as I could, as many as would talk to me. I wanted to know about the other worlds. What sort of animals roamed these unknown planets? What type of plants and terrain would I see? What did the aliens who populated those worlds look like? What did they eat? What were their customs? I wanted to know everything.

But all they ever talked about was war. PTSD on a massive scale. Whatever was out there, it was bad. Those who would talk to me—once I used my own university credentials to convince them I was not a fanatic or an all-around crazy person—talked of little but the battlefields, and the enemy.

As terrifying as the Hive sounded, I wanted to know everything. But I wanted to know how the other Coalition races lived, not just how they died. War was war. It sucked. But what were all those alien warriors fighting to protect?

Guess I’d find out, assuming the testing had worked. I sure as hell hoped it had. I was not small, which my ex had taken great pleasure in pointing out as often as possible. I was tall to start with, as tall as a lot of men, and yes—I was carrying a bit of extra weight. But I loved my body. The softness of my stomach, my extra-large breasts. Skinny girls didn’t get the goods, and I had them in spades. Boobs. Ass. Boom-baby. I didn’t want to go home, back to work, back to my normal life. I would never be the same again, not after this. Not after them. The two mates in the dream. They weren’t mine, but still. Wow.

Now I was addicted, needed two men, two cocks. Dirty talk and four hands and hard, hot fucking. Lots and lots of cum that would make me—

Shit.

“Ms. Roberts? Can you hear me?” She sounded impatient now, the woman I could sense looming over me. She wasn’t mean, just… efficient. I wanted to linger in that magical place, stuffed full of two hard cocks and more love than I’d ever felt in my entire…

“Erica, do you need a doctor?”

Damn. “No. I’m fine.” I opened my eyes and blinked, taking in the testing room. Sweat coated my skin, the orgasm that had been just a dream lingered, my skin warm, my nipples hard, my heart racing.

But was it all about the sex?

No, my mind would not let go of exactly what those warriors had promised to their mate. Cum. Seed. Baby.

On Earth, I couldn’t even find a man who wanted to have sex with me. Those who weren’t afraid of my height were freaked the fuck out by my…

“Erica, are you sure you’re all right?” Warden Egara asked, coming to stand before me. “You’re taking a bit longer than usual to come out of the testing phase.”

Testing phase? Was that what they called intense orgasms around here?

“Sorry, I just didn’t want to come back yet. It was just getting good.”

Release Day Blitz ~ Animal Attraction

ANIMAL ATTRACTION (Book 2)

Detective Ethan Grainger is horrified when a public official is found dead in the park, killed by an animal. He immediately fears it’s a shifter kill and heads for The Ark, where he seeks out Nuala Lazare, a Kindred pregnant by Ethan’s late partner Shade. He’d come to terms with Chicago’s supernatural underground, but because Nuala holds him responsible for Shade’s death—and because he is attracted to her—he’s avoided her until now.

Ethan is the last man Nuala wants to see, and she has enough to deal with being near term and realizing her fatherless child will be a half-breed like her brother Luc, who experienced tremendous prejudice and guilt while growing up. She plans to move from The Ark to live like a human for her daughter.

Ethan must keep Shade’s child from being corrupted by the criminal element of the Kindred Lazare clan. Which means he must get close to Nuala—not an easy task. As they get to know each other, their attraction becomes unbearable. Will Ethan keep his loyalty to his murdered partner or succumb to the irresistible temptation of his chemistry with Nuala?

ANIMAL INSTINCTS

Half-human, half-Kindred, Luc Lazare doesn’t want more complications in his life. He’s focused on protecting his shapeshifting family and love is the last distraction he needs.

Skye Cross has the ability to talk to animals. Her most recent animal rescue mission–stopping an alleged dog fight–actually involved shifters in a primal battle. Her investigation leads her to Luc, a man whose powers both unsettle and intrigue her. Skye quickly finds herself caught in a dangerous world she never knew existed, while relying on a man she couldn’t possibly trust.

Coming from two different worlds, can Luc and Skye overcome the obstacles fated to keep them apart?

Excerpt

The Black Sheep’s lights were soft; people’s shadows moving inside seemed like dark souls waiting for a body to enter. In fact, people came to this specific pub for that reason. He wasn’t the first to use the privacy given by the place to find a hot body to lose himself in. Thomas entered and looked around, a worried expression of his face. His fists clenched, arms stiff at his sides. He headed to the bar and leaned an elbow on it, observing the surrounding people, the darkest corners, the private rooms, and the dance floor, a small area that only fit a few people. The music was rhythmic but not too fast. It was kind of sensual, so different from the folk music you usually heard in most Irish pubs.

Adrian, the barman, slid a glass in his direction.

“Here you go, the usual,” he said, winking.

Thomas nodded and answered with half a smile, putting the money on the counter. He turned away for a few moments before looking back at Adrian.

“Do you know Elias?” he asked.

Adrian seemed to think for a moment. “Thin, black hair, even darker eyes, sexy as hell?”

Thomas blinked. From the description, it sounded like Elias, even if Thomas didn’t personally find him sexy as hell. That is, he couldn’t deny what he’d seen under those long locks was something magnetic, that his body seemed thin but not skinny, but …

Thomas shook his head. He was a boy. And a thief. And a stalker. And who knew what else? And he wasn’t interested in him in that way.

“I think so,” he finally replied.

Adrian smiled and gestured to a hidden corner of the tiny dance floor. There, wearing a pair of tight jeans and a white T-shirt, was Elias, dancing with a guy behind him who had one hand on his chest and the other on his belly. His eyes were closed, and he was moving his pelvis. Sexy as hell, actually. His head was reclined, leaning on the shoulder of the man behind him, and he had his hand by his side as he swayed.

Thomas picked up his drink and took a long sip. That boy owed him an explanation. Suddenly, he realized he couldn’t accuse him of anything without some kind of evidence. For a very short moment, doubt ran through his mind: had it really been Elias, or had Thomas finally lost it? Maybe when he’d been twirling under the rain like an idiot fighting his panic attack?

When he looked at the dance floor again, Elias had disappeared.

“What the fuck!” he burst out, frustrated, a second before feeling somebody touch him, a solid body pushing against his back and a voice speaking in his ear, softly enough so as not to be heard by anyone else.

“If they told me to choose who to fuck, I would choose you.”

Thomas turned suddenly and almost spilled his Guinness on himself.

There he was — Elias.

Thomas observed him for a few moments, and his brain registered different things. This time, he could see Elias’s face, even if it was barely lit. It was a very unusual face: thin, big black eyes, a sharp nose, and a large, full mouth. Elias wasn’t as thin as he first seemed. Or, yes, he was thin, but the right definition would have been slim. The stretch T-shirt highlighted his long muscles, as well as his tight jeans, which underlined the contour of his hips, molding his legs. His hair was long at the front and really, really black. His gaze in that moment was particularly intense. The corners of his mouth were turned up in half a smirk.

Thomas suddenly looked away from his lips, the taste of which he could still feel on his mouth, and took a sip of beer.

“I saw you while I was dancing. You came looking for me,” Elias continued.

It wasn’t a question. It was an assertion.

“No. I came looking for my wallet.”

Sure, he could have beaten around the bush, but this guy somehow got on his nerves, and he wasn’t in the mood for acting kindly. He waited for a question from him, even outrage. What he wasn’t expecting was Elias taking his hand, turning it over, and putting the wallet in it.

“And what does this mean?” Thomas growled. “If this is a joke, it’s not funny.”

“Isn’t that your wallet? Didn’t you come here for it? Here it is. No joke.” Elias’s expression was unperturbed.

“You stole it.”

“Had it on loan.”

“I could report you.” Better yet, I could arrest you. But he didn’t say that out loud because he didn’t want Elias to know anything else about him.

“Does it look like I’m stopping you from doing anything you want to do?”

About the Author

T.M. (Tracey Marie) Frazier never dreamed that a single person would ever read a word she wrote when she published her first book. Now, she is a five-time USA Today bestselling author and her books have been translated into numerous languages and published all around the world.

T.M. enjoys writing what she calls sexy‘wrongside of the tracks romance’ with morally corrupt anti-heroes and ballsy heroines.

Her books have been described as raw, dark and gritty. Basically, what that means, is while some authors are great at describing a flower as it blooms, T.M. is better at describing it in the final stages of decay.

She loves meeting her readers, but if you see her at an event please don’t pinch her because she’s not ready to wake up from this amazing dream.

The most wonderful time of the year is about to get even better.

On a cold, rainy December morning, Finn’s beloved Grampa, his best friend and rock, makes a friend outside their home who he invites in for coffee. The last thing Finn expects is Nelson, a man with a painful past, who is beautiful and generous and turns Finn’s knees into jelly.

What starts out as a chance to get out of the rain, soon becomes more as Nelson helps Finn get ready for the Christmas market. They bond over coffee and fabric and Mariah Carey. Can handmade Christmas ornaments and an understanding heart give Nelson the love he’s been denied?

Excerpt

Sunday arrives with clear skies and no rain, but instead, the temperature has dropped overnight and hovers in the low thirties. I arm myself with a thermos of coffee and dress accordingly: long johns under my orange bellbottom corduroy pants, a long-sleeved t-shirt and a turtleneck layered under my windbreaker, a fluffy scarf wound around my neck and a beanie that makes my hair look ridiculous. It flattens everything under the hat, but at the ribbed cuff, my curls explode in every direction with a vengeance.

A lot of people attend the first market of the season and despite the cold pluming my breath in front of me, everyone is in high spirits and full of holiday cheer. My neighbor to the right, Mrs. Winterbottom — yes, that’s her real name — is dressed as Mrs. Santa and sells magnificent hand-crafted fir wreaths. On my left, Mr. and Mrs. Carruthers sell gold-brushed chocolate pralines that are too pretty to eat and taste even better.

Every vendor plays holiday music, greets the shoppers with a jolly ho-ho-ho, and a comment on the weather. The shoppers, in turn, have deep pockets and are eager to acquire the merchandise. People love my ornaments, and my stuff flies off the table. I will be cleaned out completely before the market closes if this continues. I need to spend more time sewing so I can bring lots more next week.

After a couple hours, huge powdery snowflakes start sailing leisurely from the sky, adding to the holiday feeling. The only downer on this fabulous day is that I ran out of coffee early. Mrs. Winterbottom forgot hers at home, and I shared mine with her. I wouldn’t let my worst enemy go without coffee if I could do something about it.

But in a lull between customers, a savior arrives.

Nelson. Carrying two paper cups in mittened hands.

Warmth flashes in my chest at the sight of him; his shy smile and brown eyes that are warm enough to thaw the thin layer of ice from the pond in the middle of the park where the market is held.

“Hi,” he says, sounding out of breath. “I know you like coffee, but I thought maybe hot chocolate would be nice in this cold?” He holds out of the cups and if we weren’t separated by the table I would show my gratitude by hugging the stuffing out of the man. New acquaintance or not.

“My hero!” I accept the offering, tear off the lid, and inhale. The sweet, slightly bitter aroma makes my mouth water. I take a small sip, but it isn’t too hot to drink so I have some more. I hum in happiness and smile at him. “This is awesome. Thank you so much.”

Nelson’s gaze is glued to my mouth with eyelids heavy and lips parted. “You’ve got …” He sets down his cup and pulls off his red and white mittens, then he leans forward and swipes the pad of his thumb along my upper lip.

I draw a stuttering breath.

“You had chocolate on your lip,” he rasps, his voice so deliciously rumbly I feel it all the way in my bones. “There. All gone.” He does a final sweep before withdrawing.

I can’t help it; my hand flies to my mouth and I finger my lip as though I’m trying to stop the lingering warmth from evaporating.

“Thank you.” My voice is hoarse. Our eyes lock as he picks up the mittens and put them back on. My breathing grows shallow and the Christmas music cacophony and loud buzz of the market-goers fade into the background. All I see is him. All I hear is his breathing.

“Finn. I …”

Nell Iris is a romantic at heart who believes everyone deserves a happy ending. She’s a bona fide bookworm (learned to read long before she started school), wouldn’t dream of going anywhere without something to read (not even the ladies’ room), loves music (and singing along but, let’s face it, she’s no Celine Dion), and is a real Star Trek nerd (“Make it so”). She loves words, poetry, wine, and Sudoku, and absolutely adores elephants!

Nell believes passionately in equality for all regardless of race, gender, or sexuality, and wants to make the world a better, less hateful, place.

Nell is a forty-something bisexual Swedish woman, married to the love of her life, and a proud mama of a grown daughter. She left the Scandinavian cold and darkness for warmer and sunnier Malaysia a few years ago, and now spends her days writing, surfing the Internet, enjoying the heat, and eating good food. One day she decided to chase her lifelong dream of being a writer, sat down in front of her laptop, and wrote a story about two men falling in love.

Nell Iris writes gay romance, prefers sweet over angst, and wants to write diverse and different characters.
