MOUNT OLYMPUS MEETS THE PARANORMAL

Juliet needs to feast, to appease the thirst cursed upon her by a former lover. She picks her victim, a strong, sexy MMA fighter she’s never heard of. After a night of mind blowing passion, she prepares her attack.

Except he isn’t an everyday, ordinary average guy.

He’s a god.

More specifically, he’s the Greek god of war.

And he’ll move heaven and hell, defy his parents and destroy all in his way to make her his.

Excerpt:

Juliet felt the ache resonate through her body before her senses came to her. It had been a long time since sex left her hurting. It wasn’t that Ares was rough with her. On the contrary, he was the most gentle and tender lover she ever had in the few centuries she walked this cursed planet. But they went all night with very few moments to rest. It had to be just before dawn when she fell asleep on his shoulder.

She clenched her eyes closed tight. Ares. The Greek god of war. She thought she had lined up another victim to feast on. The fighter she chose was quite a specimen for a mortal man. Except he wasn’t a man. He was a god. A fucking Greek god. Fabulous.

She let out a tiny moan at the feel of silk against her naked skin. She didn’t remember this from the hotel bed the night before. Had the sex made her that delirious? She didn’t think so. She yawned as she slowly fluttered her eyes open.

Above her was the bluest skin she’d  ever seen. It was peppered with white, fluffy, cotton ball like clouds. The stream of sunshine warmed her. Memories of her past life, of days in the French court filled her mind. It felt peaceful.

Her heart slammed into her throat then pounded uncontrollably. She whimpered. Sunlight meant death. That son of a bitch knew she was a vampire. He left her out in the sunlight to die. She trembled violently as she frowned. As high up as it was, she should have already been dead. Where the hell was she? She searched around her frantically.

“Good morning, sleepyhead.”

Juliet searched around her as she tugged the blood red silk sheet to her naked body. There might have been a clear, blue sky above her but the walls were rock. It took a few moments to take everything in. Finally, her gaze stopped on Ares staring down from the ledge above her. She groaned as she slowly calmed down. The image of him dressed in tight fitting jeans and a nineties band t-shirt set loose the lust in her again.

Juliet bit her lip. “Where am I?” She pointed to the ceiling. “And what is that?”

Ares studied her then descended the stone staircase from above. “The sun was just about to come up. I didn’t figure you’d want to stick around until it did. Here, you’re safe. It’s a little past noon right now and look, you’re still here and kicking.” He looked up at the ceiling. “And that is an illusion. I’m a god. I thought I would do something nice for you. It’s probably been awhile since you’ve seen a summer sky.”

“Just before the French Revolution.”

“So you’re French. Nice.”

“Why did you bring me here?”

Ares stopped at the foot of the large, round bed she was lying in and crossed his arms over his broad chest. “I told you. The sun was coming up.”

She cocked her head to the side, letting her ebony curls fall down her bare shoulder. “You could have sent me back to my place. Or just let me burn to ashes at sun up. Try again.”

He smirked at her. “I told you. You belong to me. You are mine. No mortal can fuck me like you did. Besides, we share the same staple to our existence. Blood. You drink it. I shed it.”

Review Tour: Coast to Coast

Length: 57,412 words

When opposites attract, it’s not just the team that’s in for a shake-up.

When a stipulation in his father’s will throws Mark back into a family that disowned him, he has only two things on his mind; buying his way out of contractual obligations and running in the opposite direction as fast as he can. When neither option pans out, he finds he is now a one third owner of the struggling Arizona Raptors hockey team, and that is just about the worst thing he could have happened to him. Not only does he hate hockey, but the Raptors are a bottom-of-the-league team, rife with jealousies and anger in a locker room that only knows self-pity. How is he supposed to help turn things around when the only way to start fixing things is to form an alliance with the estranged siblings he’d run from fifteen years earlier?

Then there’s Rowen Carmichael, a stubborn, opinionated, irritating man with superiority issues and questionable taste in music. Butting heads with Rowen, who he’d never even wanted to hire in the first place, is one thing, but there is no way in hell that he will allow the growing attraction to the new coach become anything more. Until with everything on the line, he has to make decisions that will change his life forever.

After years of collegiate coaching, Rowen is given an offer that he simply can’t refuse, although perhaps he should. When he’s presented with the chance to take one of the worst teams in the league and mold them into a future cup contender, the challenge is just too alluring to pass up. He leaves his beloved Ontario behind and moves west to the arid city of Tucson where he is faced with a broken team, shoddy management, and players overflowing with resentment and bigotry.

Never in his twenty years of hockey has he ever seen such a raging dumpster fire of an organization. Yet there’s something about this team and this city that compels him to roll up his sleeves and start dismantling. He has his eye on a new associate coach that’s bound to makes waves, and several key players who should be sent packing. Now all he has to do is convince the new owners of the team that his choices are for the best. If only Mark Westman-Reid, one of three siblings who now own the Raptors, wasn’t so damned rock-headed, so damned snooty, and so damned appealing his job might be a bit easier.

Review

Coast to Coast is an engaging story. The Rapters won’t know what hit them when coach Rowen comes to straighten them up.
Mark has the same idea. As a new and reluctant part owner of the team he wants to clean house, too bad he knows nothing about hockey.
Heads butt and attraction sparks between the two. The former model turned business man and the hockey player turned coach explode together. The give and take between the characters, both men who have their own ideas and both used to getting their own way is amusing to read. Neither wants to give an inch, but they learn to work together for the betterment of the team and their uncontrollable attraction.
I love a good hockey romance and Coast to Coast didn’t disappoint. Wonderful characters and an enjoyable story line kept me reading.

Excerpt:

A chill skittered down my arms and to my toes until my body erupted in goose bumps. Hairs at the back of my neck stood on end. Someone was watching me.

I stopped moving so quickly I bumped into Gina and reached out to keep her from falling onto the dance floor.

“Sorry!” I called out, but I didn’t look at her as she resettled to her feet.

My gaze was focused, skipping from the men on the dance floor to the outer circle of guys who stayed close, probably couldn’t shimmy their hips to a beat if their life depended on it but enjoyed watching the show, to the stairs…the upper level.

Straight to him.

He was there. Hands curled around a silver railing. Buttoned up white shirt un-tucked from jeans and sleeves rolled to his elbows. Casual.

Commanding.

Long dark hair on top, swept to the side but long enough it could also fall into his eyes.

I simply felt his pull. Felt him.

I stood still and raised my drink in his direction.

His response was a nod. So minuscule it was difficult to see from the distance but even then, I knew he was the one watching me.

And if he wanted to watch? I’d give him the show of his life.

Two men flanked him, one shoved his shoulder, the other crossed his arms over his massive chest. The men were huge.

Yes. That was going to be him.

If he could gain my attention with a look from a hundred feet away, he was definitely the kind of guy who could do other things to me even more intensely.

Excerpt

Checking his phone, he noticed a text from Dallas letting him know the coast was clear. Good, one less thing to worry about. Sending a text asking his friend to bring his duffel bag to the hallway outside the women’s locker room, he hoped he wouldn’t need to go into an explanation. When he got an okay emoji in response, he relaxed and put the phone next to Anna’s purse. He’d just withdrawn his hand when a terrible scream sent him running toward the shower room that wasn’t much different than the men’s. “Anna,” he called out over the sound of water, steam flooding the whole room, her yips and yelps making his heart race like a jackrabbit. Sliding to a halt when he reached the last stall, he slid open the curtain only to panic when he realized he couldn’t even see her. “No, don’t come in here. It’s too hot and I can’t reach the faucet to shut off the water.” “Fuck that,” he growled, charging forward, the water pelting his shoulders making him hiss. “Shit!” At last, he found the knob, requiring three turns before the water shut off. Waving at the steam, he found Anna sitting in the corner of the stall, hugging herself, her head bowed, the skin on her shoulders bright pink. Hating to see her that way, he sat down next to her, his back against the wall, his knees bent. “Go home, Kyran, I’m sure you’ve a thousand things to do after a game.” “The only thing I need to take care of right now is you,” he assured, meaning it. “Can I get you anything, first aid cream, aloe? I’m an excellent masseuse.” “That’s kind of you, but unnecessary. It was weird, you know? The warm water suddenly went cold and when I tried to turn the knob, it became way too hot and I panicked. I’m sorry to have frightened you.” “That is weird and I’m going to take it up with stadium management ASAP. That should not happen, Anna.” “You can’t do that.” “Why not?” “Because they’ll ask how you knew about the hot water mix up.”“Trust me, I can inform them of the fault in the plumbing without bringing your name into it. I sure as hell can’t let anyone else use this shower until it’s been checked. Come on, let me see if you’ve been burned.” “Um, I’m naked.” “That’s okay, most people take showers without clothes on.” “And, there’s still shampoo in my hair. This was the last straw in a day from hell and all I want is to curl up in bed, watch a movie that’ll make me cry, and eat a gallon of rocky road ice cream,” she grumbled, her panicked breaths muffled when she dropped her head onto her forearm and cried. “Don’t cry. Please don’t, that’ll kill me,” he urged, getting nowhere. Didn’t matter that his ass was sitting in water that was still too hot for comfort. All he could do was turn to her, take her elbow and tug, next thing he knew, she’d crawled onto his lap, snuggling up against him. God have mercy, she was the sweetest thing he’d ever known, felt. His need for her more than physical, it was down deep, refusing to let him so much as look at another woman since they’d met.

AUTHOR BIO

My love for storytelling began when I created my first fictional characters in kindergarten, convincing my family and friends that Red Henry and Green Henry were identical twin brothers in my school. They were mischievous, rarely did their homework, and even had girlfriends! Years later, I started to write, completing my first manuscript in middle school. I confess the heroine was a cross between a contemporary Laura Ingalls Wilder and Nancy Drew, who’d been dating one of the Hardy Boys, but when I wrote “the end” I’d known I had more stories to tell. This New Adult book is the first in the Owatonna U Series, a spin off from the best selling Harrisburg Railers Hockey Series.

Ryker is hockey royalty, Jacob is a poor country boy. Can two vastly different people find common ground and become the men they want to be?

Ryker comes from a long line of championship-winning hockey players. Playing college hockey to develop his game is his only focus, and nothing will stand in the way of him working to become the best player. He has no room for relationships, people who point out his flaws, or anyone who calls him on his dreams. He certainly has no place for love, and meeting Jacob is nothing but a useful distraction on the side. After all trying to get his Owatonna Eagles teammate into bed is less work and more play. When tragedy rocks his family, his charmed life crumbles, and the only person he can turn to is the same one who claims to hate him.

Jacob Benson has only known hard work and stifling conservative values his whole life. Born and raised in the small rural community of Eden Crossing, Minnesota, he’s the only son of a hard-working but struggling dairy farming family. Jacob is using his skills in hockey to finance his way to an agricultural science degree. These four years at Owatonna U. will probably be the only time he has to enjoy life, gain acceptance about his sexuality, and live openly before his inevitable return to the farm. Running into a pretty rich boy like Ryker Madsen is putting a damper on his enjoyment of life away from home. Ryker’s flip, conceited, carefree attitude grates on Jacob’s every nerve. So why, if Ryker is everything he dislikes, does he want nothing more than to explore the sinful dreams that his annoying teammate stars in every night?

I have three superstitions I live by:

1. No dating all season.
2. Don’t jinx a no-hitter while one’s in progress.
3. Be cold-hearted. If you find something you think about more than baseball, destroy it.

Calliope Thomas is one of those things. Ever since she left a bad review on the Max Energy Drink I endorse, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her. Obviously, when she said she hoped I had a losing season, I had to meet her and get her to take the words back.

Now, she’s making me do insane things. Like, obsess over the color of her panties or if I can make her blush. Read superstition one—I don’t do this sort of thing.
I play ball, not chase after a woman I barely know.

But, I am, and she wants nothing to do with me.
She thinks I’m the devil.
And I have to say she makes me want to sin.

I’m becoming a borderline stalker.
And to make matters worse she’s affecting my game.
I can’t pitch.
I can’t hit.
I can’t focus.
Something needs to give, and it won’t be me.
