When a fellow RN jokingly predicts that Beth Roberts will meet a tall, ripped and totally lick-o-licious stranger who will fulfill her deepest desires, it’s supposed to be from across a crowded room, not giving CPR to a wedding guest. Given her tragic love life, Beth has no desire to become involved again, but who could have predicted the ponytailed doctor with the mischievous smile would break through her defenses?
Dr. Gabriel North blamed himself for his wife’s death. Now, after two years of battling guilt and meaningless hookups, he’s ready to move on. When he sees the sexy brunette at his friend’s wedding, his attraction is swift and strong, and he wastes no time in pressing his advantage. One night with the woman who makes him feel alive again isn’t enough, but gaining her trust as a man was going to take more than medical school had prepared him for.
This was a sweet little story of two hearts trapped in the grief and torment of the past. A chance meeting at a friends wedding, and a night wrapped in each others arms with the promise of nothing complicated. Seeking the comfort and pleasures of each other for a single night. Not all things go as planned and sometime fate steps in and plays its own hand in events which changes everything that you thought you had wanted and makes you question what you are willing to give as it gives a not so gentle shove back into the world of the living.
A beautiful love story that is well written that pulled me in as if I was there experiencing the events with them as one learned to turn loose of past guilt and the other learned it was ok to trust again. Following along holding my breath as word after word they fall in love. I was surprised when I realized it took me no time to finish reading this delightful story and saddened that it was over so soon.
The romance and connection of the characters was without question. I greatly enjoyed this book and their HEA.
