Beverly and Tamara: Anna Kristell Welcome to SSLY. Thanks so much for joining us today. So first why don’t you tell us a little about yourself.
Anna Kristell: I’m a small town girl from Indiana. I’ve lived in Ohio, Oklahoma, and Texas, but came back to Indiana in 2005. My husband and I have two grown children and three grandchildren and I spend Monday through Friday in the billing department of a local mental health clinic. I love to read, write, and travel.
Tamara: What do you HAVE to have when you are writing?
Anna Kristell: COFFEE!!
Tamara: oh, look Bev a kindred spirit! I am coffeholic!
Beverly: I think that’s a requirement! When did you start to write?
Anna Kristell: I started in grade school, but only seriously about five years ago.
Tamara: What do you think are the qualities that make up a “hero”?
Anna Kristell: He has to be sweet, loving, strong, and willing to do anything for the woman he loves. I love a guy who likes to tease his girl, a real sense of humor.
Beverly: Can you describe your favorite character? And which of your books is he/she in? How do you come up with your characters?
Anna Kristell: I think I’d have to say it’s going to be David in Remember Our Promise, which will be released by Rebel Ink Press this summer. David is just the ideal guy. He’s full of surprises, and pretty hot, too. My characters just come to me. Many people have tried to figure out who I had in mind when I created certain characters but really the answer is no one in particular.
Tamara: What are the hardest scenes for you to write? Suspense? Sex? Dialogue? And why?
Anna Kristell: Sex…
Beverly: What writer, if any, influenced how you write?
Anna Kristell: Possibly Debbie Macomber. I also used to read a lot of Harlequins back in the day, so I think that influenced me more than anything.
Tamara: Who would you choose as your “book boyfriend”? From what book?
Anna Kristell: Don’t laugh, but I’ve always been partial to Rhett Butler. I’ve read Gone with the Wind and seen the movie more times than I can count. Author? Margaret Mitchell
Beverly: What is the kinkiest thing you’ve ever done? Or would like to? What? We are all about the love!
Anna Kristell: OMG…my mother might be reading this…LOL…or my daughter, which would be worse, so I’m going to plead the 5th on that one.
Tamara: What are your favorite types of heroines? Do you like the damsel in distress who needs saving or the kick-ass variety? Why?
Anna Kristell: I like kick-ass heroines, of course, but every once in a while, I do have a damsel in distress in a storyline.
Beverly: What was your worst date ever?
Anna Kristell: When my husband and I first started dating, many years ago, we had a flat tire on our way home. Yes…it really happened…and of course, no one believed us. We took a lot of ribbing about it for years to come.
Tamara: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you? (you have food, water, shelter, all the necessities, so nothing mundane)
Anna Kristell: books, a man, and nothing to distract me/us and not necessarily in that order
Beverly: What is your “guilty pleasure”?
Anna Kristell: an evening at the casino… love the slots
Tamara: What dream or goal have you yet to realize?
Anna Kristell: Having a bestseller, of course!
Beverly: What was you most embarrassing moment? It can’t be worse than mine… getting caught buck naked in the back of an orange Gremlin by the police! (I am such a naughty girl)
Anna Kristell: Pretty much the same as yours, but I wasn’t naked and it wasn’t an orange Gremlin…LOL
Tamara: If you were a color what would you be and why? A color?
Anna Kristell: Really? Hmmm. Magenta…beautiful and bold
Beverly: Who has influenced how you perceive love? Why?
Anna Kristell: Couples that I know…each have their own little secret looks or sayings…
Tamara and Beverly: Okay. We are SSLY so I have to ask. Who loves you?
Anna Kristell: Everyone, of course!!

Rebel Ink Press will be releasing Unlikely Lovers in February and Sunny’s Love in April. Remember Our Promise will be released a few months later. These books are not part of a series. New characters and storylines continue to find their way into her thoughts and as long as they do, Anna plans to keep sharing them with you.
When she is not writing, she can be found at her day job in the billing department of a local community mental health center, reading, traveling, or spending time with family and friends. Anna has a grown daughter and son and three grandchildren.

Getting more than she bargained for, she falls in love with him, but has kept a secret about who she really is.
On the night she plans to tell him the truth, Cody plans to propose. But before either of those things can take place, they run into Jessica’s ex, who cruelly spills the beans. Angry and heartbroken, Cody ends the relationship, turning to a bottle for comfort. Jessica’s hurt, she accepts his decision. While they find they can’t stay away from each other, they can’t seem to work out their differences, either.
