Beverly and Tamara: Welcome to SSLY. Thanks so much for joining us today. So first why don’t you tell us a little about yourself?
Thanks for having me! I’m an author of “the sexy”, love shoes and need to match my panties and bra to my outfit at all times.
Tamara: What do you HAVE to have when you are writing?
Time! I’m not one who can lay down a few thousand words in a couple of hours. I envy authors who grind out 10K in a day.
Beverly: When did you start to write?
I started writing seriously only a few years ago. Before that, I’d write scenes and snippets as ideas came to me.
Tamara: What do you think are the qualities that make up a “hero”?
Great question! I love a sexy hero. Must haves are: confidence, swagger and a sense of humor.
Beverly: Can you describe your favorite character? And which of your books is he/she in? How do you come up with your characters?
My favorite? Oh, that’s a hard one. I mean, it’s like choosing your favorite kid! If I really had to pick, I’d go with Jason Royce from Marooned with the Millionaire. Jason is my ultimate man. He’s tall, dark and oh-so-sexy, of course. But, he’s much more than that. Under his arrogant and gruff exterior, he’s passionate and kind.
Tamara: What are the hardest scenes for you to write? Suspense? Sex? Dialogue? And why?
Sex and dialogue – easy peasy. I also like to write sexy suspense-filled scenes. You know what’s hard for me? Action scenes. I find myself performing the action and trying to put it into words. It’s hard!
Beverly: What writer, if any, influenced how you write?
I adore Roni Loren’s writing.
Tamara: Who would you choose as your “book boyfriend/girlfriend”? From what book? Author?
That’s an easy one – Jamie “hottie in a kilt” Fraser from Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series.
Beverly: What is the kinkiest thing you’ve ever done? Or would like to? What? We are all about the love!
Okay, I am DYING to go to an S&M Club. Just to watch, of course.
Tamara: What are your favorite types of heroines? Do you like the damsel in distress who needs saving or the kick-ass variety? Why?
Most people answer this question kick ass, don’t they? I’m going to go with the non-PC answer. I really like the damsel in distress, but not in the traditional sense. I like my heroines slightly broken. My heroes too. I love to take two characters and use their relationship as a catalyst for strength and healing. It reminds me of a quote from Aristotle: “The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.”
Beverly: What was your worst date ever?
My one and only blind date. He used his car key to scratch the inside of his ear. Totally grossed me out!
Tamara: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you? (you have food, water, shelter, all the necessities, so nothing mundane)
My laptop with some type of power source, at least one Starbucks skim latte each day, and a hammock.
Beverly: What is your “guilty pleasure”?
Expensive underwear.
Tamara: What dream or goals have you yet to realize?
Making the New York Times Best Seller list.
Beverly: What was your most embarrassing moment? It can’t be worse than mine….
That would probably be when I stepped on the hem of my strapless dress while walking up the stairs at a HS graduation party. Yup, my dress came down and I flashed some guy.
Beverly: That would be terrible. At least mine was my own fault!
Tamara: If you were a color what would you be and why?
Red. It’s warm and passionate.
Beverly: Who has influenced how you perceive love? Why?
My children. They taught me what unconditional love is.
Tamara and Beverly: Okay. We are SSLY so I have to ask. Who loves you?
My husband and kids. I’m lucky to have a tight but small circle of family and good friends. Oh, also my dogs. They love me to pieces. LOL

Blurb:
A fierce Miami storm bring sexy strangers together at The Hotel Del Santos for a night of desire.
Stephanie, still reeling from a failed marriage, needs a break from the past. Shying away from the convention center crowds while on a business trip, she finds solace tucked away in a secluded hotel on South Beach.
Jason, a wealthy Seattle builder, has the worst luck with love. He swears he will never allow another woman to get under his skin, until the clicking of a pair of sexy stilettos across the hotel lobby floor attracts his attention.
Cut off from the outside world, the lives of these two strangers collide and burn with desire when a storm strands them together. Neither wants anything more than a glorious one-night stand.
Their chemistry is undeniable and propels them to a second meeting in Sin City. However, Stephanie soon learns she has more reason to be wary of her mysterious lover than a broken heart.
Excerpt:
“This is an interesting predicament we’re in,” she said softly as she strode to the sofa.
Jason couldn’t take his eyes off her. “How so?”
“Well, there’s no power or cell service, no way to contact the outside world, and there’s you and me. The way I see it, the night belongs to us and we can do with it whatever we want.” She stood directly in front of him now.
Jason rose and took her face into his hands; his mouth was so close to hers that she felt his sweet breath on her lips. “What do you want, Stef? You need to tell me.”
Stef. He spoke the shortened version of her name as though he’d known her forever. She tried clearing the fog in her head. This wasn’t harmless flirting anymore; it was the real thing. Here she was with a random hottie in her arms, not to mention the fact that she was cut off from the rest of the world. It was the perfect storm. It was an ideal opportunity to shed her insecurities and move on with her life. She lifted her eyes to meet his, licked her lips seductively and whispered, “Well, Jay. I want you.”
His eyes crinkled at the edges. “Jay? No one’s ever called me that. I like it coming from your lips.” Grasping her chin between his thumb and index finger, he tilted her face to his and kissed her slow and soft. Pulling away, Jason looked into her eyes. “I don’t want to hurt you. I can’t promise you anything, you know, after tonight. But I can tell that you’ve been neglected, and I get the feeling you’ve not been satisfied in a very long time. I can remedy that situation for you.” He pulled her close and whispered in her ear, “You will not be disappointed.”
