Beverly’s Review ~ Going All In

Going All InGoing All In

Professional hockey players Marcus, Alex, and Chris attend their team’s Vegas Night fundraiser unaware their lives will change forever. Can they face their difficulties and win the most important game of their lives – the game of love? These guys are going all in…

HEDGING HIS BET: Cassandra Carr
Marcus Mitchell never thought he’d find the love of his life with champagne dripping from her shirt rather than walking the runway at Fashion Week like the models he usually preferred, but you can’t always plan these things. Annalise Alonso isn’t going to make it easy for him, though—he’s going to have to work for her love. Now, Marcus is taking a shot and hedging his bet on love.

CASTING THE DIE: Isabo Kelly
After she sees his murder in a vision, Nathalie Mendez has to warn star hockey goalie Alexander Semenov of the danger. To keep him alive, she risks exposing her many secrets. But once the die is cast, her biggest gamble involves her heart.

PLAYING HER GAME: Stacey Agdern
Melanie Gould has been dubbed ‘The Girl in the Lace Corset’. But she doesn’t always like to be the loud mouth defender of the romances she writes, and is definitely not good at playing the games relationships require. Of course, she’s never gone head to head with a guy like Chris Emerson. Chris is trying to behave, and someone like Melanie would destroy his plans to stay under the radar. So what happens when the ‘Girl in the Lace Corset’ and the NHL’s most infamous bad boy go one on one? Will they play her game? Will they play his? Or will they both end up in the penalty box?

Beverly’s Review:

I loved all three of the stories in Going All In. It came at a perfect time for me to review! Coming down off the high of my Chicago Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup, I was missing me some hockey!

Let me tell you, there is no way I can pick a favorite amongst them. Written by three wonderfully talented authors, each story grabs you. (I’ve already been a pest asking about stories for the rest of the team!) Hot sweaty men that know how to treat a woman right? A no brainer! I want more!

Well, once upon a time there was Vegas Night and the New York Empire hockey team was there…

Hedging His Bet has Annalise Alonso meeting Marcus Mitchell when he literally runs into her at the Vegas Night fundraiser. Unfortunately she is working and carrying a full tray of champagne. Disaster! But Annalise peaks Marcus’ interest. He’s not interested in the skanks (my word lol!) that are looking for some sugar daddy. Annalise is a hot curvy woman that he wants to know better.
Annalise feels she is out of his league. It’s up to Marcus to show her different!
And whoo daddy! Doesn’t he just! At times my throat got tight and I just wanted to cry for the life Annalise was leading. Thank goodness Marcus was persistent.

Casting the Die introduces Nathalie Mendez. She is one of the physical therapists that work on the team. What they don’t know is that she gets visions. No matter how crazy he thinks she is Nathalie has to warn Alexander Semenov that he is going to be shot and killed. Touching Alexander drives her crazy, but she doesn’t want to lose her job by dating a player.
Alexander has always admired Nathalie and now because she believes her crazy story he has a way of getting close.
And Alexander, once he knows she isn’t involved in the attempted bribery, wants to get REAL close.
When Alexander touches her, she just can’t say no.
I wouldn’t either! Hot and sexy Russian goalie, refuse? Yeah, right!

Playing Her Game has Chris Emerson in trouble. But he’s a magnet for trouble. Larger than life, even when he tries to be low key, trouble finds him. For Vegas Night, he has the blue in his hair taken out. Coach has warned him to stay out of trouble. Being hand picked by the owner just pisses off the coach. Being good, and a crowd favorite just makes it worse.
Melanie is a famous outspoken romance author. Sister to the team’s official blogger, Emily. She is also accident prone. Take Vegas Night for example, she just wanted to go to the ladies room. Only she could fall down the stairs and have ‘the girls’ join the party. After she’d strapped them in-which didn’t work. Saved by, you guessed it, Chris. Because trouble finds him.
A laugh a minute, these two can’t help but draw the lime light. Their first meeting, on the stairs, sets the tone. Totally attracted to each other, they agree to meet for a drink, not realizing who the other is. Despite the opposition and paparazzo these two were meant to meet. Those that love them tell them to just be themselves. So how much trouble do you think they’ll attract together?

I enjoyed the interaction of all the characters. The ladies did a fantastic job of rolling the stories together and keeping their timelines in sync. Each of the main characters were believable and easy to fall in love with. The story lines fun and enjoyable and so VARIED! What a wonderful gift to all us readers!

Well, what happened at Vegas Night didn’t stay at Vegas Night! These players are ready to faceoff for love and breakaway when their goal is in sight. Going All In is a definite winner much like the New York Empires!
