Cara’s Review
Alpha Mine was an absolutely fascinating book. The most intriguing part, if you really sit and think while you read, is the potential fluidity of who the “bad guy” is. What makes a person bad? Circumstance, the situation, a history, a misspoken word, or taking away a piece of someone? The real bad guy is Gage and Andrea, but I hope you take the time to consider rationale and drive as you read this story- and really ponder what makes someone the villain.
Katrina “Kat” Spencer is a dancer in Vegas, introduced into the world of vampires several years ago by a brutal attack. Saved by Marcus, they make a life together as good friends, roommates, and protector/ward. All this changes when Marcus’s Sire, Stephen Von Haas comes on the scene. Instantly intrigued by Kat, they begin a dance of courtship.
There is a cool cast of other Alpha vampires, and I can’t wait to read their stories…I’m hoping they all find their Heartmates pretty soon. I can’t wait to read Michael’s especially. Will his actions ever catch up to him? The only part of the story that gave me pause was how easily Kat forgave Stephan- I’d be pretty pissed off when I realized what happened!
Regardless, I’d strongly recommend this book to lovers of vampires, paranormal romance, and a good story. I really urge you to sit and think about the characters of the novel as you read, because there is a depth here that you don’t find in many romance novels. In my head, the debate about the villain is ongoing. Read the book, and maybe we can have a chat about it!
