Lucky in Love Blog Hop!

How far would you go to catch his eye, to get him to come over and say hello? If you’ve yearned to get to know him better and he seems hot and cold? If he looks at you with fire in his eyes but does nothing about it? If you know, just know if he gave you a chance your world would change?

How lucky are you?

What would you do? What wouldn’t you do?

Well, let me ask you, how primitive do you want him?

*smiles slowly*

I wanted him. I wanted him bad. The sight of him in his uniform drove me wild. I thought we had something. It wasn’t a spark when he touched me, it was a bonfire. The seas boiled and the sun burned down. That’s what I felt. But I guess I was wrong. I guess he didn’t feel that. I guess he wasn’t willing to try. Was it because it was almost forbidden? Was it because it was skirting the edges of the rules we lived by? I didn’t care. I looked at him and flames flared inside me.

He sat there across the room, surrounded by his buddies, laughing and drinking. They were having a good time. Each one of them, including him, had a woman in their laps. A woman in every port. Was that what he wanted? He looked up, straight into my eyes. I could see them widen, but he didn’t move. He didn’t move her. I turned my back.

I turned back to my friends. Slammed down a glass of Mojo. The bar featured amateur wrestling. It looked like fun. There was a lightly roped off area. Inside of it was a kiddie pool, one of those rubber blow up kind. The pool was filled with chocolate pudding. It was decadent. I loved chocolate pudding. They were calling for volunteers. Forget him my friends said. Have some fun. Could I?

Oh yeah.

If he didn’t want me, let him see what he let get away. I headed to the dressing room to change. The wrestlers wore itty bitty macramé string bikinis. Mine was green. It matched my eyes. It looked great if I said so myself.

I could see his eyes widen as I came out. I tossed my bag of clothes to my friends and went to the ring. I was going to have some fun. The match ahead of me had just finished, the women covered in pudding. You couldn’t tell if they still had their suits on or not. But you could see their smiles.

The bell rang and I dove in against my opponent. The pudding felt cool and sensuous against my skin. We grappled and twisted and turned. The bar was cheering us on. I grinned, covered in pudding and slid back after my opponent. We separated and I felt arms scoop me up. Before I could object, I was flung over a strong back and wide shoulders.

I could hear the people in the bar roar with laughter. I tried to wiggle away and received a stinging slap across my ass for my trouble. He continued to move, grabbing my bag with one hand while pinning me across his shoulder with the other. I could hear him growling.

Oh yeah. I got lucky.

  4. I have been lucky in love and let me tell you, it’ll sneak up on you when you least expect it! It’s a fun ride and I always encourage people to go for it. If you don’t, you don’t know what could be. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. And so what if it is? You haven’t lost anything by trying. 🙂 kjkamryn@gmail.com Have fun with the hop!

  8. I have been so luck in love because I have my husband who supports me and loves me just as I am. Without him, I may have given up on my dream of being an author ❤

  11. Great blog hop fun and excerpts! Really enjoying getting new titles for my TBR list. Dragon’s Mate will be next! I already super enjoyed reading Heart of a Soldier.

Have to add that, it must be my Irish roots, but I’ve been lucky in love for 15 years now. Hubby’s a keeper and a very fine resource for some scenes I write…but don’t tell him. ; )

  12. Was that what happened to you? With the chocolate pudding/wrestling?! Dude! I want to read more LOL! 😉 That was great!

  14. I don’t know that luck has any bearing on having a successful relationship. It’s a whole lot of work. I married my high school sweetheart right out of high school. We have been married for 17 years.

  15. I got lucky in love 🙂 I met my husband when i was in high school and we’ve been together for 15 wonderful years! Thanks for the chance to win!

  16. Nope, not lucky in love at all.
Thanks for the chance to win. Happy Saint Patty’s Day!

  17. What a great giveaway hop! I have yet to be lucky in love but I’m working on it. My favorite love book is “Outlander” by Diana Gabaldon. Jamie Fraser is amazing and beautiful. I enjoy St. Patty’s Day and this year I’m spending it with my best friend. We’re going to two Irish Pubs and also some dance clubs. I am also wearing green and am not a fan of getting pinched. I’m not Irish either, but many people think I am because my hair is red, my eyes green and my name is Meghan, but I’m not at all. I won’t be telling anybody that, however… let them believe I’m Irish.
    Thanks for the giveaway!
