Here I thought I could be lazy and do a release blitz for another authors book. NOPE! I was off by a month. It is January 29! So I have to post any how. Late, but that’s okay. Hopefully everyone is having a lazy Saturday, or is so busy that you didn’t even notice, lol.

I’m super busy right now. I’m getting ready for retirement. Filling out the paperwork, setting up retirement seminars, and setting up book signings for the coming year. Adding to that, I haven’t had time to write in over a month. I’m trying to find a location in my house to write. I’m going to try to be a full time writer, but that is even going to be hard as I’ll be babysitting close to full time.

We’ll have to hash that out, lol.

I want to be able to write, but I need space for that. Right now every space is occupied. Over occupied even. I’m trying to find a space that I can write without being bothered. I need peace and quiet to write. It gets a bit expensive going to the coffee shop each day. For some reason the background music and talking don’t bother me. Of course, they are not trying to get my attention.

I want to get three books out by the book signing, Authors Invade the Beach (Myrtle Beach SC) in May. May 4th to be exact. So from my retirement on February 28th to April, I’ve got to buckle down and get working. Luckily, I’m close the end so shouldn’t be too bad of a stretch! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

In addition, I’m taking a couple of classes at the local community college. Welding for art is one of them. Figuring out the cloud is another. I just don’t get it, so I’m willing to go to a class on it. Hopefully that will make my brain click.

To end today, here’s a sneak peak at a bit of Finding Faith, unedited of course.

Skinning the rabbit, careful to keep the skin intact, she laid it on the largest leaves she could find. Sprinkling some rosemary on it, Faith wrapped the leaves around the meat. She tucked it in the outside of her satchel. She needed to keep moving. If anyone was out hunting and saw a fire, they would join her. Then expect her to return with them. So, a little further along and she’d feel safer from being found.

Circling the outside of the meadow, staying hidden in the trees, Faith headed further from home.

Hopefully no one would realize she was gone until tomorrow.

Her eyes widened at the snarl of a big cat. Faith froze. The sounds of the forest stopped. The cry changed to a snarl of pain. Faith crept beneath a tree, hiding from sight beneath its branches. Curious, she moved silently, trying to peek in the meadow. She gasped.

A shadow flew overhead, darkening the grass of the meadow. A large cat dangling from its claws.

Faith gasped, stunned. It couldn’t be. Fairy tales depicted them, showing the devastation they caused. She stared, heart thundering. Hidden beneath the drooping branches of a pine, she was invisible from the sky. A second one swooped down, snatching its prey and flying away. Faith shrank back then froze. The scream echoing through the woods, was all too familiar. It faded, more and more distant as the dragon stole away his prey.

Her breath caught, her heart stuttering. Oh no, it was Hope! Faith couldn’t help but recognize her own sister’s voice. Frozen, she stared, watching the monsters fly away.

Shaking her head, tightening her lips, she scrambled forward. She had to rescue Hope. There wasn’t time to go home for help. Sliding her knife in her belt, she ran, taking care to stay out of sight in the trees. Crossing the meadow might be shorter, but if there was one cougar there would be more. No use becoming a meal through carelessness. She had a sister to save.

No matter how long it took, she would follow. Hope would do the same for her. Thoughts of finding a new life fell away. She had to save her sister.

Ack! It’s From Me to You Friday!

OMG! I wonder if I can put this word count down for #NaNo? No probably not!

It’s been a busy month. I decided to try NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month – I’d never heard of it until last year so I can’t be the only one!) for this year. It runs the month of November and the goal is to write a novel of at least 50,000 words.

I went past 24,000 on Sunday so I’m hoping that I can meet the goal! Life of course gets in the way.

I took a whole day to create an author website. I like it and I hope you do too! Go take a peek! http://ovalleba.wix.com/beverly-ovalle#

I had a new release on Saturday November 2, 2013 which was exciting!

For generations Levi’s family had guarded a sacred glen in the mountains. Still far from man this isolated area was a favorite spot of his grandfather. Levi grew up listening to his tales and fell in love without ever having stepped foot there.

Now Levi’s family, led by his grandmother, wanted to sell the land. With only his grandfather and Levi against it, Levi has to prove to the rest of the family why they needed to continue their guardianship. Believing in his grandfather’s tales despite himself, Levi went armed with his camera and his well-known expertise behind the lens and headed out for proof.

Providing that proof and protecting the secrets of the glen from the world, Gaia needs to convince Levi to continue that protection. Daphnaie, the embodiment of his every dream, is sent to show him why, stealing his heart in the process to save her world.

Available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Secret Cravings, All Romance and other places I haven’t ferreted out yet!

Along with the excitement of having a new release 🙂 I have also had two rejects 😦 . I had a non fiction piece submitted that was rejected. If you would like to read it, it is on the tab under Books by Beverly. My other, Saint Nicholas was rejected also. The nice thing with that one was that it was rejected within a couple of weeks of submission. I’m reworking it and getting ready to resubmit.

Try try again! Persistence is bound to pay off sooner or later!

So when I saw that it was my day to post-I’ve given the spot away to many other authors for tours & spotlights-it was too late to do that!

So, here’s a peak at my #NaNo work. It involves dragons (anyone surprised?) and I put it up as Heaven at the End of the World. It takes place about 100 years after mankind has managed to self destruct and slowly begin to rebuilt.

But beware! If you’re not 18+ don’t read any further!

Ari was going to kill his brothers if the pleasure of riding Hope through her change didn’t kill him first. He hadn’t planned it, but a change required so much sexual energy that it was usually done with the Weyr. With his brothers there and Hope flying high much like a dragoness daring the strongest to take her, his instinct kicked in. Ari could no more have prevented the change than he had of turning back the sun.

Hopefully his brothers had caught plenty of game. Ari would rather Hope was out for that blood rather than his. Ari dropped his head to her chest, his tongue sneaking out to lick a perky cherry colored nipple. It was plump and just as tasty to him. He could feel another wave of pleasure cresting. Ari had never realized that the male shared the change. He might already be a dragon but he was sharing each wave of heat as it crested. Probably nature’s way of making sure the dragon never forgot what their mate went through to share their life.

He probably should have thought it through. In the Weyr there were chains to hold them down as the dragon’s mate went through the metamorphosis. Ari sure hoped his brothers could hold Hope down. None of them had ever seen a change but the chains were there in the chamber, so there must be a reason for it.

Ari suckled Hope’s nipple in time to the pulsing of her passage around him. Ari thrust, the feel of Hope and the heat on his cock enough to keep him hard even as he again coated Hope’s womb with seed. It had to be all part of the magic of the change. Even he, with his dragon stamina would have been done by now.

Instead, his excitement kept building until he felt like he was going to burst.

“Ari what’s happening to me?”

“Hope, love, would you share the rest of your life with me?” Despite the pleasure Ari could see roll through her, Hope rolled her eyes at him.

“Do you think I would have stayed after your brothers scared the heck out of me if I wasn’t planning that?” Ari smiled, the sarcasm of her comment lightening his heart.

“Well, did you want hatchlings?”

Hope moaned, shuddering. Ari crested again on a wave of pleasure with her.

“No. I want babies.” His brothers laughed. Ari could not wait until they met their mates. They would find out there was nothing to laugh about.

“Hatchlings are babies.” Ari felt slightly offended. He had been a hatchling. Hope giggled.

“Fine, hatchlings would be fine.” Hope moaned, “as long as they were yours.”

Ari kissed her, happy with her answer. “Well a human and a dragon have only one way to have hatchlings.”

“Steal someone else’s?” Ari heard Crag snickering at Hope’s answer. He kissed her, grinning down at her.

“NO. The human has to change into a dragon.” Hope stilled, a frown starting to form in her eyes and then she arched in pleasure, panting beneath him.

“So, that’s what is happening to me?” Hope shuddered, squeezing Ari inside her. “No asking, no explaining,” Hope cried out, moaning, “just change me with pleasure?” Ari groaned, the wave of sensation snaking along his backbone.

“Oh, oh, yes, yes.” Ari pumped into Hope going wild at the sensations they were being bombarded with. “Oh god, so much pleasure Hope.” Hope screamed her body taunt underneath him. “I didn’t plan it Hope, I just couldn’t stop it. I didn’t even realize I had started the change but once,” Ari groaned into Hope’s neck as she writhed beneath him, “it had started I couldn’t stop it.”

Sooo…that is where I am picking up at today. Ermm, yes it has changed into something I hadn’t planned, but that, I’m finding, is the fun of #NaNo!
