Beverly and Tamara: Welcome to SSLY. Thanks so much for joining us today Kerrianne. So first why don’t you tell us a little about yourself.
Hi. Thank you so much for having me! I am so happy to be here today.
I am a married, mother of two beautiful mini people. I am British and I live in the beautiful rural countryside, surrounded by fields, open space and farms. I adore animals, and am usually surrounded by my cats. I am a big social person, so chatting up a storm is another thing I love.
I have been writing for a few years, though I always wrote little things like poems or small stories, I have been doing it with publication in mind for five. I love writing, it’s my happy place. LOL I started of writing an urban Fantasy book and have never looked back.
Tamara: What do you HAVE to have when you are writing?
Coffee and SILENCE! I am easily distracted, so if there is any noise, I loose concentration. I have always been the same, my school reports always said ‘easily distracted…’ LOL
Beverly: When did you start to write?
I always have written ‘things’ but actually sitting down and writing in mind of publication, probably five years.
Tamara: What do you think are the qualities that make up a “hero”?
He has to be lovable. He has to make you want to fall into his arms, and he most certainly has to make you want to swoon. But I think the best recipe for a successful hero, is when he has a dark side that needs to be tamed.
Beverly: Can you describe your favorite character? And which of your books is he/she in? How do you come up with your characters?
My favorite character is Snow White From the Demon Huntress. She is feisty, hot and easily pissed off. She is lethal, yet gentle in a damaged, i-hate-the-world kind of way. And her hero, Sam, is SMOKING HOT. In fact, I just adore that couple. Together, they are dynamite.
Tamara: What are the hardest scenes for you to write? Suspense? Sex? Dialogue? And why?
I don’t really find any scene ‘hard’ as such. It changes in every book. Sometimes the characters converse really easily, but they are hard to get into the sack. And other times, they are horny little bunnies that I can hardly get to leave the bed. LOL It depends solely on the characters.
Beverly: What writer, if any, influenced how you write?
I don’t know about influenced to write, but I adore Sherrelyn Kenyon and Kresley Cole. I want to be them when I grow up!
Tamara: Who would you choose as your “book boyfriend”? From what book? Author?
I would have Hawke from the Psy/Changeling series by Nalini Singh—YUM!
Beverly: What is the kinkiest thing you’ve ever done? Or would like to? What? We are all about the love!
Moi? Kinky? LOL
Tamara: What are your favorite types of heroines? Do you like the damsel in distress who needs saving or the kick-ass variety? Why?
Both. It depends on the story, but I do like to read about feisty women. I hate when a heroine is feeble…UGH!
Beverly: What was your worst date ever?
I met my hubby when I was sixteen, we were friends, then lovers…I skipped the whole dating thing. And I am very relieved, it sounds like a nightmare.
Tamara: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you? (you have food, water, shelter, all the necessities, so nothing mundane)
UH…Never ending supply of coffee—of course. A kindle that had REALLY good WIfI. And Channing Tatum.
Beverly: What is your “guilty pleasure”?
Wine and chocolate… And actually, they’re not guilty—I am quiet brazen with it. LOL
Tamara: What dream or goal have you yet to realize?
So many! I have so many goals for my writing. I have so many personal ones and SO many for my kids…I like goals, I think they keep you on track and encourage you to strive for more.
Beverly: What was you most embarrassing moment? It can’t be worse than mine… getting caught in the back of an orange Gremlin by the police! (I am such a naughty girl)
HA! Oh, my gosh, so many! I have a habit of embarrassing myself—daily.
Tamara: If you were a color what would you be and why?
Red, because I think it shows love—but the darker side. Pink is happy, cheerful—red is lustful and aggressive.
Beverly: Who has influenced how you perceive love? Why?
My husband. Because he is awesome. I grew up in a broken home. My Dad was a flake, though my mum was a rock for all of us, she never re-married. My hubby showed me that not all men are Dicks, not all men can just walk away.
Beverly: That’s wonderful!
Now for some quick fun questions:
Boxers or briefs? BOXERS!
Coffee or Tea? Both. But if I had to choose, Coffee.
Tall, dark and handsome or Blond and buff? Uhm…red haired and buff. LOL I like to be different. But, really, I have a thing for red heads.
Hairy chest or smooth? HAIRY!
Chocolate or Vanilla? Both!
Kinky or Sweet? KINKY
Fast or slow? HARD! LOL
Public or private? Whenever the mood takes me.
Top or bottom? Bottom.
