People are always asking me “Who are your favorite authors?” That is such a hard question to answer, because frankly I love you all! But today I’m going to highlight just a FEW of my favorites. If you’re not on the list, please don’t be mad at me, There is no way I can list everyone!
So where to start? How about by genre?
In contemporary Romance here are a few of my favorites:
Lori Foster never disappoints.
Jill Shalvis is funny and heartwarming.
Hell Yeah, I love Sable Hunter! She is not as well known, but I just love the Hell Yeah series.
Kay Springsteen is one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. She writes sweet romance that will make you laugh and cry. Heartsight was amazing! A blind war hero and the mother of a Downes syndrome child fall in love. Bring on the tissues!
Romantic Suspense:
Have you read Lora Leigh’s Breed series? Well she writes suspense too! And it is edge of your seat, plus hot, hot, hot!
Maya Banks KGI series is on my autobuy list
The Ash Trilogy by Shiloh Walker will have you biting your nails and looking under the bed for the boogey man!
Military Men:
Yes this probably fits into suspense or contemporary, but for me Men in Uniform get a category all their own.
Heather Long writes the fabulous Always a Marine series. The next book in the series is titled Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. I love it!
Catherine Mann is a military wife and get her heroes “just right”
Pamela Clare put an “I” in team and makes it work
And now for the hardest category. Paranormal Romance. This is the genre I love the most, so I have so many “favorites”, I’ll divide them into two categories. Funny Paranormal and the darker side.
If you want a good laugh and a good story check out
Eve Langlais. How can you not love a series called FUC’d!
A saber tooth werebunny and a werebear. Miranda cracked me up in this one. Eve also write a cyborg series, purple aliens, werewolves, and feline shifters. I have yet to read anything she wrote that I didn’t love.
Dana Marie Bell writes Cynful shifter crack!
Is he not sex on a stick? Dana’s heroines are quirky and funny, and her heroes… well you have to read them to believe them. One of my favorite scenes from this series is where Bear shifter Alexander “Bunny” Bunsun lies in bed playing with his toes, because “bears do that”.
Shelly Laurenston/ GA Aiken: need I say more? If you haven’t read her you are missing out on great fun!
Now for the dark side. I’m sure you are all familiar with the icons of the industry like Sherrelyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, Kerrelyn Sparks, Lynsay Sands, so I am going to share a few you might not know
My good friend Carrie Ann Ryan is exploding on the scene with 3 series out so far: The Redwood Pack, Dante’s Circle, and Holiday Montana, all are paranormal, and all different. All wonderful (IMHO)
A new to me author who just blew my socks off, Mina Carter
Jennifer Ashley’s Shifters Unbound series made me a fan with the first book
And then there were… authors who write in muti-genres and rock it!
The fabulous Laura Kaye! Heroes, heatbreakers, God’s, and vampires. Her new “Inked series” has me salivating for some tattooed hotness.
Katie Reus, werewolves, jaguars and military tough guys, Oh my!
Joya Fields first caught my attention when I reviewed her first book, Beneath the Surface. I was her first review and she tells me she still has it posted on her refrigerator! Her characters are complex and will draw you in like a fly to honey.
This is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to authors I love. I hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorite authors. Who do you love? Leave me a comment and let’s see if I can find some new “favorites”!
