Beverly and Tamara: Welcome to SSLY. Thanks so much for joining us today. So first why don’t you tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up in a small town in Missouri. I am a single mom and I work full time. Oh, and I recently realized I kinda like writing books! lol
Tamara: What do you HAVE to have when you are writing?
Music and diet coke…these are my only requirements.
Beverly: When did you start to write?
I started writing in October of last year. I entered a prologue contest on Facebook and that started it all.
Tamara: What do you think are the qualities that make up a “hero”?
Strength, loyalty, and strong character.
Beverly: Can you describe your favorite character? And which of your books is he/she in? How do you come up with your characters?
I have a favorite character in each book I write. My favorite character in Destined to Change is Jaxon Daniels. He’s the leading man and quite swoonworthy. My characters just come to me…not sure how to explain it. I’ve never really created one, so to speak, I just picture the story and there they are.
Tamara: What are the hardest scenes for you to write? Suspense? Sex? Dialogue? And why?
Dialogue! Ugh! I have a really hard time with that. I always feel silly trying to create a conversation…
Beverly: What writer, if any, influenced how you write?
There are so many writers who have influenced me…I really couldn’t narrow it down to one.
Tamara: Who would you choose as your “book boyfriend”? From what book? Author?
I think if I had to pick one I would pick Kellan Kyle from S.C. Stephens Thoughtless series.
Beverly: What is the kinkiest thing you’ve ever done? Or would like to? What? We are all about the love!
Wow! Way to make the new author blush…I think I’ll skip this question. 😉
Tamara: What are your favorite types of heroines? Do you like the damsel in distress who needs saving or the kick-ass variety? Why?
I prefer the kick-ass variety because they remind me of myself; however, I believe a damsel in distress can make for a good story also.
Beverly: What was your worst date ever?
It involved puking, lots of puking. Enough said.
Tamara: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you? (you have food, water, shelter, all the necessities, so nothing mundane) My kindle -so I can read. My
laptop – so I can write. And…hmmm? A hot guy to keep me company.
Beverly: What is your “guilty pleasure”?
Shopping! I love to shop!
Tamara: What dream or goal have you yet to realize?
Being a NYT Best Selling Author – 🙂
Beverly: What was you most embarrassing moment?
OMG! I have so many…most recently was when my aunt read my book and sent me suggestions for the next one. AWKWARD
Tamara: If you were a color what would you be and why?
Purple because even though it can be bright, it can also be deep
Beverly: Who has influenced how you perceive love? Why?
My daughter. Becoming a parent changes the way everyone perceives love – I think. It changes the type of person you are and the type of person you want to be.
Tamara and Beverly: Okay. We are SSLY so I have to ask. Who loves you?
Well, I am currenly single…so I’d have to say my daughter, my family, and a few amazing friends.
Now for some quick fun questions:
Boxers or briefs? Boxers
Coffee or Tea? Neither – Diet Coke
Tall, dark and handsome or Blond and buff? Definitely TDH!
Hairy chest or smooth? Smooth
Chocolate or Vanilla? Vanilla
Kinky or Sweet? Sweet
Fast or slow? Slow
Public or private? Private
Top or bottom? Both
Destiny…it’s really an interesting thought isn’t it…destiny.
Loralei Harper’s destiny was determined before her birth. It was very simple. She was expected to graduate from high school, marry Declan Sharp, and have two kids. She would stay at home with them, while her husband worked on the family farm. But the funny thing about destiny is…it can change in the blink of an eye. Now Loralei has to figure out what to do when everything changes.
Declan Sharp, a sweet country boy, grew up with Loralei. Their parents couldn’t have planned their relationship any better. Loralei was the love of his life and their future was bright, but sometimes life gets in the way of your plans.
Jaxon Daniels, a pierced, tattooed, badass with a gentle soul, just wanted to get out of the city and relax in the country for a little while. The last thing he was looking for was right in front of him. With skeletons in his closet, will he be able to hold on to the woman he loves, when the past comes out to play?
Cade Walker, a cocky cowboy, never gave love a second thought. Sex? Now that was a different story. After a drunken night, all of that changes when he feels something for Loralei…with his heart. This good ole boy learns that alls fair in love and war.
What happens when all of these lives cross paths? Whose destiny will change and who will get their happily ever after?

I grew up in a small town in Missouri. Very similar to the fictional town I wrote about in Destined to Change. I moved to the big city right after I graduated. I work full-time and I am mom to a beautiful little girl.
I started writing in October 2012 when a Facebook group I am in had a prologue contest. I didn’t win the contest, but everyone who read my prologue asked for more of my story. I decided I had to finish it and get these characters that were in my head out on paper. During the writing process it became clear that this was going to be more than one novel. It had to be a series. I have at least two more novels planned in the Destined Series. I also have an idea for a YA novel based on one of the characters in Destined to Change…hint, hint.
I am a really boring person, so this bio is really short. I love music and honestly couldn’t have written this book without my Spotify playlist. I am kinda obsessed with frogs (not real ones) and office supplies are my downfall! I could spend my whole paycheck at the stationery store…boring, didn’t I already say that? Lol
Also, I am slightly addicted to Facebook and Voxer. Please message me on either one…I would love to hear from all of you.
