Teresa Gallagher did not expect to become an old maid school teacher at the great age of thirty-six, but she does teach and is single. She also didn’t expect a gorgeous stranger to slip into her university writing class. The man claims a historical name as his own and an interest in writing. She has high school students who lie better.
Marcus Aronson specializes in small colleges with problems. His company usually gobbles up the college, lays off people and takes over administration. Jefferson is his latest project. He slips into a classroom to check out if a favorite professor might be the embezzler. What he finds instead is a passionate woman hiding behind a button up exterior. Someone needs to release Teresa from her inhibitions and that someone would be him. There were rules about mixing business and pleasure. Rules he intended to break.

Excerpt:

Marcus decided her expression wasn’t overly welcoming. Had he read the kiss wrong or was the problem that he shouldn’t know where she lived? Only a nosy person or someone with access to personnel records would know that. Still, her cutoff shorts were hot. What did that shirt say? He read the words aloud until she covered it with her hands. “Straight men…” Wait, what did she cover up?
He walked closer until they were nose to nose. The coconut-scented suntan oil teased his nostrils. Visions of tropical nights spent under a full moon, rolling around with Teresa’s long legs wrapped around him filled his mind’s eye. Speaking of legs, he glanced down to the limbs in question. Just as long and as magnificent as he imagined them that made it a double shame to cover them up. Still, he knew teen boys needed little to start erotic fantasies about their teachers. Why give them more fodder?
Her lips held onto the circle of surprise, which made him think of other ways he could shock those delectable lips. The slight hush of the pool filter, children playing in the distance, plus a tinny muffled dog barking registered in a corner of his mind. Two feminine hands held tightly under her breasts owned the majority of his attention. Whatever word she might be trying to hide with her hands did not quite cover the arrow pointing downward to an interesting zone.
“My sister-in-law’s a jokester. The shirt is a souvenir from her San Francisco trip.” She said the words breathlessly, while staring up in his eyes.
Placing his larger hands over hers, he deliberately wrapped his fingers around hers with the intention of lifting her hands off the obvious inappropriate word. What he didn’t count on was her determination to keep the word covered or their precarious perch at the edge of the pool.
“C’mon,” he cajoled when she pressed her hands even tighter to her midriff as she might be attempting CPR on herself.
She shook her head. “Nope, I’d rather be shirtless than have you read my humiliating shirt.”
Shirtless? Oh yes, he could go for that. “Sounds good to me.” His hands dove to the bottom of her shirt to help her remove it. A forceful push sent him wind-milling into the pool, clothes, shoes, sunglasses, and damn it, cell phone, and all.
She stood peering into the pool, her body quivering with suppressed laughter. He fished out his cellphone laid it on the edge of the pool. Her expression told him she couldn’t believe her eyes as he pulled out his wallet, his keys, and a waterlogged package of mints. He reached under the water, pulled off one, then another topsider and flung it onto the cement.
“What are you doing?” She stared at the growing pile.
He smiled at her very interested mien. The woman ate him up with her eyes. Good. He unbuttoned the two buttons on his polo and pulled it over his head. He wrung out his wet shirt, twirled it over his head like a stripper, and pitched in her direction, hitting her with a satisfying smack.
“Looks like someone invited me in for a swim.”
Her mouth opened and closed with no words coming out.
“Unfortunately, I forgot my suit so I have to improvise.” He slipped the belt from his khakis and let it float on top of the water like some mythical serpent. Teresa’s eyes followed as if it were Nessie. To think he took time considering what would be the right thing to wear only to end up drenched. Business casual did not serve him well.
Her eyes stayed glued to him as he reached for his waistband. “I’ll be right back,” she announced as she darted to the patio door. “Don’t go anywhere.”

morgan k wyattAbout the Author

Morgan K Wyatt, raised on a steady diet of superheroes, believed she could fly at a very young age. After using trees, barn lofts, sliding boards, and even a second story window as launch pads, she found her flying skills were limited to fast and downward. By the age of nine, her dreams to be a superhero needed some modifications, which caused her to turn to writing and horseback riding as alternatives to flying.
At the age of twenty, she had another chance at superhero greatness as being one of the few female soldiers trained for combat. The fact that women will be able to serve in combat soon indicates that all the witnesses to the grenade incident have retired. The grenade incident didn’t prevent her two sons or daughter-in-law from enlisting in the service. Having different last names probably helped.
Morgan recently retired from teaching special needs students to write fulltime, instead of in the wee hours of the night. With the help of her helpful husband and loyal hound, she creates characters who often grab plot lines and run with them. As for flying, she prefers the airlines now.

Book Tour ~ Love Resisted ~ Melanie Codina

LOVE RESISTED

Book 2 – Real Love Series
Melanie Codina

Synopsis

For Allie Baxter, love was never
something she had to worry about. She was loved by her friends, her family, her
husband … until the day it was ripped away. Losing love was the deepest pain
Allie had ever endured, and it was an agony she vowed to avoid feeling ever
again. Crippled with guilt over her loss, for five years Allie served her
self-appointed exile from the daily comforts offered by friends and family,
only to return and attempt to fit herself back into their open arms—even if she
knew she didn’t deserve it. Mike Lawson was not something Allie expected; the
love of a man was not something Allie was prepared to want. The spark of desire
that had long ago died inside her suddenly returned, bringing the memories of
her pain with it. She swore she would never allow herself to love again … but
how long could love be resisted?

Melanie is an amazing mother of four, an awesome and tolerant wife to one,
and nurse to many. If you don’t believe her, just ask anyone in her family,
they know what to say. She is also a devoted chauffer, the keeper of missing
socks, a genius according to a six year old, the coolest soccer uniform
coordinator according to a twelve year old, and the best damn
‘mac-n-cheese-with-cut-up-hot-dog maker in the whole world. Well that last
title isn’t really official, but it’s still pretty cool to be called it.

When not being ordered around by any of the kids, you can find her with
her nose in a book or on the sideline of a soccer game cheering on one team or
another. But that’s mostly because she has a thing for the coach. When she is
not doing all of the above, you can find her obsessed with a group of fictional
characters all vying for a spot on the page of whatever she’s working on. It’s
a fun and crazy life to lead, but wouldn’t have it any other way

She can’t deny something is definitely up. Available at Amazon

Cara’s Review:
This is the second of the Gate to Fate series by Ms. Xander, the first book is Woman Beware. I would recommend reading the books in order, so please take a moment to check out Woman Beware first. It’s not absolutely necessary, but you’ll have a much better understanding of what the Fates and Garrick are trying to achieve.

I really enjoy Ms. Xander’s books in general, and this was no disappointment. She weaves wonderful tales full of romance, heroes and heroines, and in this case, alien worlds. The Fates will work throughout this series to bring life mates separated by space, dimensions, or time together, for the betterment of the Universe (not too much pressure on a relationship!). Here, Marteeka (Marti) is rescued from the world of slavery that she was abducted into five years earlier. You’ll laugh at her interaction with Garrick, it’s pretty priceless. Kylar is another Defender, as is Marti’s brother, Artu and his wife, Lena (the main characters in Woman Beware). Kyl and the other Defenders come together to discuss the women who keep turning up missing on their worlds.

The passion is HOT in this book. Definitely five out of five flames for hotness! When you know the Fates are behind a match, you know things are going to click pretty quickly, as they do here. I’m left to wonder which of the Defenders will be stars of the next book, as I am pretty sure the women chosen by the Fates will all by mates to the Defenders.

I would definitely recommend this book to those of you who enjoy reading romance books set in other worlds, with alien species, filled with different cultures. It’s a quick read, but will not disappoint Ms. Xander’s fans, or those readers wanting to try something a little different.

Allyson’s Review
Coyote in Provence was a great read, it kept my on the edge my seat dying to know what would happen next. This was the perfect example of how things are not always black and white and that judgement can’t be made until you have the entire picture.

This story took place in Provence, France. Elena was their to escape bad memories and the death of her husband from California. Cooking was her passion and went to work at local restaurant. My heart went out to her because she really had a hard time. But she was so kind, caring, giving, compassionate and strong.

Jordan came to Provence because he was a detective investigating stolen art, stolen from California. As soon as Elena and Jordan met the chemistry was strong. But Jordan was sexy, fun, caring, loyal, honest, supportive and understanding, making him hard to resist. Elena knew the last person she she be involved with was a cop, especially from California. They quickly learned things aren’t always what them seem and have to make difficult decisions that could change their life.

This was an excellent read, that tugged at numerous emotions. I laughed and cried, but this book was truly touching and heartwarming. I highly recommend this book. I was given an ARC copy of this book by the author in exchange for a honest review, All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Review – Desires- Holly J Gill and Nicki Blaise

Desires—a place where fantasies are made flesh and dreams become real. From BDSM to being a dog, Desires can provide it with bells on, if that’s your kink.

Stacie Clifford’s only desire is to regain her sexual confidence after her recent escape from an abusive marriage. She joins Desires looking for re-education in the joys of her body. There is only one condition; her contract states emotional attraction between tutor and student is forbidden. Stacie is fine with that; her heart is so battered she has no desire to give it to anyone else.

Then she meets her instructor, Dan. Instantly attracted, at first Stacie thinks it will help to make her sexually comfortable with him. But when she realises she is falling in love, she can’t tear herself away, contract or no. Stacie knows that, no matter how kind and caring Dan appears, he’s just doing his job. Can Stacie overcome her own Desires and walk away?

Tamara’s Review
Desires is the first book in the new series by the same name, by Holly J Gill and Nickie Blaise. While you could classify Desires as an erotic romance, because it does center (mostly) on a single couples courtship and does provide a satisfactory Happily Ever After. The abundance of sex scenes and their explicitly puts it in more the erotica category in my opinion.

I was a bit confused when I started reading Desires. When Stacie is “filling out her contract” at the club I was under the impression it was for sex therapy. I expected a licensed sex therapist to help her with her sexual confidence and personal growth. However, once past the initial scene it becomes obvious that Desires is a club just for that… Desires. A place where men and women can go to fulfill their sexual desires, whatever they may be. And where the “client” pays for the privilege of having sex with a “tutor”.

I liked Stacie and Dan, and many of the supporting characters, like Chrissy and Bailey. But, I would have liked to have a seen some of story from Dan’s perspective. I really wanted to know what was going on in his head.

I liked Desires as a whole. But, in all honesty the preponderance of sex scenes got to be a bit redundant for me and I skimmed several of them toward the end, waiting to get back to the story. That’s not to say the sex scenes weren’t well written or interesting, just that I was more interested in Dan and Stacie’s story then their sex life.
I would give Desires a solid 3 to 3 ½ stars. A good premise, LOTS of hot sex, just a little drawn out, in my opinion.

Essenced (The Division Chronicles: Book One) ~ Free until November 6

Custom book cover Connie ebookEssenced
by Connie L. Smith

Blurb:
Years ago, demons were forced out of the earth’s realm by a band of supernatural fighters, banished from the place and its people in the aftermath of a horrific war. It should’ve ended there – would’ve – if not for the final demon’s claw snagging on the open portal. What felt like victory became only a reprieve, the winning warriors understanding that the tear would spread, and the demons eventually would escape exile. It was only a matter of time, and a need for future defense – a question of genetics and essences, magic and power.

Now, centuries later, a new army must bind together – one of teenagers with inhuman potentials and abilities…

AJ went to bed Sunday night an average teenage girl, clumsy and athletically lacking. So when she wakes up Monday morning with super-strength, she does what any rational person would do: She goes into denial. When a smoking hot guy in a suit shows up, rambling about the end of the war and demons spilling through some kind of rift, she refuses to listen, telling herself he’s insane. Except weird things just won’t quit happening, and the guy keeps popping up in her life, trying to explain the changes suddenly happening within her. Is she crazy, or is this guy… not so crazy after all?

Author bio:
Connie L. Smith spends far too much time with her mind wandering in fictional places. She reads too much, likes to bake, and will be forever sad that she doesn’t have fairy wings. And that she can’t swing dance. When she isn’t reading or writing, there’s a good chance she’s goofing off with her amazing, wonderful, incredible, fabulous nieces and nephew, or listening to music that is severely outdated. She has her BA from Northern Kentucky University in Speech Communication and History (she doesn’t totally get the connection either) and likes to snap photos. Oh, and she likes apples a whole big bunch.
