I was absolutely hooked on this book! It was a wonderful read, that pulled all kinds of emotions. Anna married Luke, whom after a few years of marriage and two kids both of them finally admits he is gay. I was truly in awe of Anna, she was strong, forgiving, understanding, patient, kind. Her and Luke continued to be best friends throughout. Even after both children were grown.
Luke was perfect ex-husband/ friend/ father, he was kind, caring, supportive, honest, understanding, and loyal. Once the kids were grown, Anna finally let her boyfriend, David move in, after years of being together, she realized he had a drinking problem. Her children noticed as well Luke. David I think was really a good guy and probably had good intentions but alcohol clouded his judgment.
Luke and Anna see Kiran, someone they went to high school with, at a wedding. Kiran has changed dramatically. Kiran was insecure about himself and had been hurt badly, but he was also sexy, kind, charming, supportive, attentive and shy. Even though Anna and David split , Anna still felt the need to help David and David couldn’t let Anna go, which played on Kiran’s insecurities. I was pulling for Anna and Kiran, they made such a great couple. But both had to get past their own past and demons before they could truly be happy. But that was easier said than done.
I loved this book, Shelly Hickman did a wonderful job with. I can’t wait to read more by her. I was given an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review, all thought and opinions are my own.
