Beverly and Tamara: Welcome to SSLY. Thanks so much for joining us today. So first why don’t you tell us a little about yourself.
I live in central Pennsylvania with my husband, two dogs and a rabbit. All my children are grown with my youngest still in college.
Tamara: What do you HAVE to have when you are writing?
Lots of coffee and my music.
Beverly: When did you start to write?
I started seriously writing about a year and a half ago when my daughter left for college.
Tamara: What do you think are the qualities that make up a “hero”?
I love a smart hero, someone who has brains as well as brawn. A confident man who stands up for the underdog.
Beverly: Can you describe your favorite character? And which of your books is he/she in? How do you come up with your characters?
My favorite character is Eldridge from my upcoming January release, Eldridge’s Submission. It’s a BDSM story that focuses on friendship and trust. I tend to let my mind wander and daydream and then images of people just pop into my head. The next thing I know I’m writing notes on a particular person. I put it on the back burner until the story comes to me, and then I let loose.
Tamara: What are the hardest scenes for you to write? Suspense? Sex? Dialogue? And why?
I have a hard time writing a lot of dialogue. I always want to describe instead of allowing for the characters to speak. I’m working on this
Beverly: What writer, if any, influenced how you write?
I’m not sure if any one writer has influenced how I write as my taste is wide. My favorite all time author is Leon Uris, historical books, but if we are talking about M/M romance I am a huge fan of RJ Scott, SE Jakes and Gabrielle Evans. Of course I could go on with that list.
Tamara: Who would you choose as your “book boyfriend”? From what book? Author?
Riley from RJ Scott’s Texas series. I love the way he loves, if that makes sense? He’s bold and forward yet shy and reserved. He loves his man with every ounce in his body and had fierceness about him. Everyone deserves to be loved with such gusto as Riley loves Jack.
Beverly: What is the kinkiest thing you’ve ever done? Or would like to? What? We are all about the love!
Kinky? Love kinky…but I think that should remain a mystery, don’t you?
Tamara: What are your favorite types of heroines? Do you like the damsel in distress who needs saving or the kick-ass variety? Why?
I am all about the kick-ass woman. I think that’s a cultural thing. My parents did not raise a wall flower. They raised an independent woman who blazed her own way in the world. Luckily I met a great man along the way and we took the ride together.
Beverly: What was your worst date ever?
I can’t say that I have had a worse date, but I can say the first time I met the man that would marry; it was NOT love at first site. In fact, he made me so mad the first time we met that I threw an ash tray at him. We must have seen something in each other because we have been married for almost 30 years.
Tamara: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you? (you have food, water, shelter, all the necessities, so nothing mundane)
Can I have my Kindle and make it solar power? I have to be able to read. I need my hubby. He’s my best friend and companion. We have fun together and he’s very handy. And since I can’t choose between my three kids, I’ll leave it just the hubby and I.
Beverly: What is your “guilty pleasure”?
Dark chocolate in a cup of coffee. I come home from work and will make a cup and enjoy.
Tamara: What dream or goal have you yet to realize?
I have to say that I am really content in my life. I work at a job that I love to do and I also get to write. My husband and I are in a good place in our lives that we can just go and do, no babies at home except for the pets. I think I am living my dream right now!
Beverly: What was you most embarrassing moment?
Oh Lord, here it is. I came out of the bathroom at work and my skirt was in my tights and guess what was showing? You guessed it, my butt. Not getting too personal but I wear thongs with my tights so it was not pretty. Good thing one of the girls that I work with noticed right away.
Tamara: If you were a color what would you be and why?
Purple…love the color…it can be bright one moment and dark the next, sort of like me. I tend to be pretty easy going with a streak of sarcasm. In fact, if you ask my sister she will tell you I am a “f-ing ray of sunshine”
Beverly: Who has influenced how you perceive love? Why?
I come from a loving and strong Latin family, where my parents were affectionate with each other, my siblings and I, and family and friends. Kissing everyone hello/goodbye even if we met you for the first time is a common practice in my culture.
Tamara and Beverly: Okay. We are SSLY so I have to ask. Who loves you? OF course my hubby! Even with all my flaws.
Now for some quick fun questions:
Boxers or briefs? Boxers…loose and free
Coffee or Tea? Oh hell yeah coffee!
Tall, dark and handsome or Blond and buff? I’m Latina, of course tall, dark, and handsome
Hairy chest or smooth? Smooth
Chocolate or Vanilla? Chocolate
Kinky or Sweet? I like to start at kinky but end sweet
Fast or slow? Fast, but make it count
Public or private? Public
Top or bottom? Top
Evelise is sharing a bit of her latest release with us today
Cyril Eona always had a hard life; born with a deformity and growing up in the system until he meets Devon Haley; the man of his dreams, who becomes the love of his life. But soon, their wonderful world gets turned upside down by an unexpected arrival; a daughter.
Life changes; a couple becomes three and fatherhood looms. Can Cyril get past all his insecurities and allow Devon to show him that although life as two was wonderful, life as daddy can be ultimately fulfilling?
We are Daddy was a short but steamy. This erotic novel about two gay men, Cyril and Devon, who got a letter saying Cyril was a father and the 2 year old’s mother had died. Cyril was born with deformation and was insecure but caring and kind. Devon was definitely the rock in the relationship, he was strong, understanding, considerate, supportive and caring. This was good quick read that sweet as well as Steamy.
