I loved the first book in this series, Ivan’s Captive Submissive and I couldn’t wait for Dimitri’s Story. The Russian giant did not disappoint.
Rya was the perfect heroine for Dimitri. I loved the fact that Rya wasn’t a “sweet little innocent” with no idea of what the criminal world was like. It was gratifying to find a heroine who was savvy and tough, yet managed to maintain a heart that was pure an gentle. She was just what Dimitri needed. Able to accept his darkness as what was needed, but still see the good man underneath. Just because someone does bad things, it doesn’t make him a bad man. Rya could see that.
Dimitri. What can I say about this man? Dimitri was a very complicated character. He is uber dominant, yet in truth, feels he is not a worthy person. He struggles daily for his place in life, constantly juggling for position in the Bratva world and fighting his anger with his past. You wouldn’t expect to fell sympathy for a Dom, but that was the emotion Dimitri garnered from me.
The supporting characters were wonderful.The plot was interesting and the sex was beyond hot! My only complaint, it seemed to drag a little bit towards the end. I was waiting and waiting for the big ending. When we got to it, the final scene was well worth the wait, but it took a while to get there. For that reason I am giving Dimitri’s Forbidden Submissive 4 1/2 stars instead of 5.
Still a fabulous read, in a don’t miss series.
