Review- Major Attraction – Marie Harte

Tamara’s Review
Major Attraction was a a smokin’ hot read featuring a military hero, Major Kyle Waters and a big beautiful heroine, Olivia Cava. Two of my favorite things in a great genre.
The love scenes were definitely hot, but Major Attraction had a major flaw, in my opinion. Kyle acts like an ass. Yes, I know there are times when all men act like asses, but I expected more from this man. He seemed like such a perfect guy and then BAM out of nowhere, he behaves in a way that I felt was totally opposite to the character of an honorable Marine. I can’t really explain without giving spoilers, and I don’t do that, so… just suffice it to say, Kyle lost a lot of respect in my eyes.
If you overlook the character motivation, on a whole Major Attraction was an enjoyable read. I liked Olivia a lot. She is smart, funny, hard-working and an odd combination of innocent and sensual. Marie, her BFF and sister-in-law was a hoot and her brothers? Oh man, I hope Brad will be appearing in a future story.
If You’re into ripped handsome men with voracious sexual appetites and sex on the kitchen table (and who isn’t) give Major Attraction a read.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review

Review- Dimitiri’s Forbidden Submissive- Ann Mayburn

As the daughter of an outlaw biker, Rya DeLuca is used to living a wild life, but nothing could prepare her for the danger of falling in love with Dimitri Novikov. To Rya he’s a warm, loving, sexy as hell Dom who gives her exactly the kind of bondage and discipline she craves in the bedroom, but to the rest of the world Dimitri is a feared man, a cold blooded, heartless killer who is at the top of the Russian Mafia food chain.
While her hard and Dominant Master is her perfect match in every way that matters, their love can never last longer than a few days at most. Every moment Rya spends with Dimitri puts her life in jeopardy from rival gangs and Dimitri’s own family.
Dimitri will have to decide if he loves Rya enough to walk away from her in order to save her life, or if their love is worth starting a war that could change the world of the Russian mafia forever

Tamara’s Review
I loved the first book in this series, Ivan’s Captive Submissive and I couldn’t wait for Dimitri’s Story. The Russian giant did not disappoint.
Rya was the perfect heroine for Dimitri. I loved the fact that Rya wasn’t a “sweet little innocent” with no idea of what the criminal world was like. It was gratifying to find a heroine who was savvy and tough, yet managed to maintain a heart that was pure an gentle. She was just what Dimitri needed. Able to accept his darkness as what was needed, but still see the good man underneath. Just because someone does bad things, it doesn’t make him a bad man. Rya could see that.
Dimitri. What can I say about this man? Dimitri was a very complicated character. He is uber dominant, yet in truth, feels he is not a worthy person. He struggles daily for his place in life, constantly juggling for position in the Bratva world and fighting his anger with his past. You wouldn’t expect to fell sympathy for a Dom, but that was the emotion Dimitri garnered from me.
The supporting characters were wonderful. The plot was interesting and the sex was beyond hot! My only complaint, it seemed to drag a little bit towards the end. I was waiting and waiting for the big ending. When we got to it, the final scene was well worth the wait, but it took a while to get there. For that reason I am giving Dimitri’s Forbidden Submissive 4 1/2 stars instead of 5.
Still a fabulous read, in a don’t miss series.

Review – Thunder Struck by Viola Grace

thunder struck

Kedna has been consigned to fostering on the empty world of Iskan when her power and her health become dangerous. Being mentored by a planetary Avatar is difficult, but moving the weather for an entire world is second nature.

When she is older and her skills are needed off world, she is paired with her first member of the Sector Guard. He is a pain in the butt and harbours resentments toward her for hogging his ancestral planet. She simply concentrates on the job and earns his respect in the bargain.

Fast forward to her twenty-third birthday and they cross paths again. This time, she knows his measure and he knows hers. Respect turns to fascination and progresses into a flirtation that crosses the stars.

Cara’s Review

A tempest in a teacup…yep, that’ll be one of the main images for you in this book.  This is a fun book, but there is a lot of waiting to be done in it.  Waiting for Kedna to come to terms with her powers, waiting for her to grow up, waiting for the bases to be built, waiting for the time to be right…etc.  However, Thunder Struck is able to tell a nice love story, while setting up a whole new Citadel and Sector Guard base planet.

Kedna (Thunder Stuck) is a strong female lead, and Haedock (Tend) will, eventually, become her HAE.  Halwis-Iskan and she have lofty goals, and I’m pretty sure the paths are firmly into place by the end of the book.  As always, the book is well written, and with small little surprises and side references that you have to be looking out for or you’ll miss!

It’s another fine story to add to the collection of misfits that have created a place for themselves in the Citadel.  Now, the planet Iskan can be home to some very interesting powers, and I can’t wait to see who pops up there next!

The town of Gilford has a Big and Terrible secret hidden in the ground.
Infecting those it touches.
Exploiting their darkness.
Consuming their souls.
It’s hungry. It’s vile. It’s evil.
And it wants out.

Book One: The First Three Rules
Marshal Jon Foster lost his purpose and his sanity the day he saw the image of his dead brother. The distraction saved Jon’s life but cost the lives of innocent people including his best friend and partner. It was a price for survival Jon couldn’t live with and was sure he’d never understand.
Driven by grief and guilt he tried to escape his past by fleeing to a small town in the middle of nowhere. Only instead of peace, the memories festered.
Then the offer of a stick of gum from a stranger changes Jon’s life and puts him on a road out of the nightmare he’s trapped in.

Ellis Harper has lived the past twenty years isolated from the outside world and sole caretaker for his mentally disabled brother, Rudy. While Ellis loves his brother, he longs for a life he’ll never be able to have.
Shut away, his days consist of chores, endless cartoons, and games of Go Fish. A world that seemed to have no end until an innocent misunderstanding turns Ellis and his brother into a target for a town bully.

Book Three: The Final Rule
Ellis and Jon need answers.
What is there to understand?
Why does it have to happen?
And what reason could ever justify losing those you love?

If only there was a simple answer. But the more questions they ask, the farther they must travel into the darkness and the things they see are not human, or even possible.
They are, in fact, Big and Terrible.

The plague is rising in Gilford. To stop it from spreading Ellis will have to embrace his destiny and Jon will have to let him go. Both men must be willing to lose everything in order to save the innocent.

It is, after all, rule number six.

Currently Adrienne lives in Dahlonega, GA where she shares her home with a variety of dogs and one cat. She still spends most of her time, reading, writing, drawing, and digging holes. Although now she calls the reading “research,” the drawing “artwork”, the writing “books,” and the holes “ponds” and “gardens”.
