Master Marshal
by Gray Dixon

Shane Marshal struggles to keep his family’s cattle ranch above financial flood waters. With help from friends, he turns the homestead into a BDSM retreat. He can’t keep his mind on business when a single woman from New York with legs to infinity arrives. To tamp down his lustful thoughts, he goes out of his way to give her grief, but she doesn’t flinch. He needs a new strategy.

Valentina Halston, a high fashion model, changed her name from Sharon Berger to hide her past. After finding her boyfriend in delicato with another model, she books a vacation at a dude ranch with BDSM activities in search of change. Rest and relaxation, fresh air, no phones, no paparazzi, and no cheating boyfriend sounded perfect. Instead, she finds more than she could imagine.

Just as she closed her eyes to imagine the handsome ranch owner running his large hands over her body, a tap on her room door interrupted the fantasy. She bolted upright.
“Sharon? Are you up?” Tanya’s soft voice came from the other side of the door.
“Yes, I’m coming,” she yelled, slipped out of bed and grabbed her robe on the way to the door. Ten minutes more and I would have really been coming. Hard.
Tanya stood at the door wearing jeans, boots, and a plaid shirt.
“You’re not dressed. You better hurry. Breakfast is in a few minutes and then we’re doing the horseback riding thing. You’re coming, right?”
“Uh, I was thinking about staying here and reading. I’ve never been—”
“Nonsense! You’re the only girl who’s about my age. The others are so much older and won’t be any fun. You’ve got to come with us.” Tanya pouted and batted her eyelashes, acting really bratty in Sharon’s opinion. “Puh-lease?”
Sharon let out a hitched breath. “Okay, fine. If I get bucked off some damn horse and break a bone, I’m going to haunt you.”
Tanya snorted. “Yeah right, I think you’re a natural with your perfect posture and long legs. I’ve never been on a horse, either. We should make a great pair.”
“Give me a half hour to take my shower and get ready.”
“You’ve got it. You want me to save you something to eat? The chef is finished setting up the buffet, or he said he can do a made to order omelet.”
She laughed inwardly. Did Shane tell Jimmy what she made? “No, I’m good.” She really wasn’t. Almost on cue, her stomach growled at hearing the word, eat. Why hadn’t she eaten more instead of drooling over Shane?
“You sure? I can get the cutie chef to keep a plate warm.”
“Okay then. See you in thirty.”
With a smile, Sharon closed the door and headed for the small bathroom.
After a lightning fast shower, she stepped out and quickly dried herself off. With the towel wrapped around her head, she stood in front of the fogged mirror. Blurring her image, the haze of her body reflected back. She was twenty-six, and despite all her efforts, the longevity of her career would soon be a ghost of the past. The business was brutal. What do I do when my body betrays me and turns frumpy again?
Sharon had fought her weight problem all her life. Even after she managed to lose the pounds nine years ago, she still had to drop more to maintain the advantage to book the jobs. The younger, prettier stick-like girls coming up behind her in the business would soon get more bookings from go-sees than her. Her fair skin, long legs, and plain, ordinary facial features would only last for so long. She’d been inquiring about going to college and getting a degree. Yeah, in what?
That was the million dollar question. She was smart and always got good grades, but that all took place years ago. She didn’t know if she could pass any entrance exam, let alone decide where to go. Modeling had consumed all her time since graduating from high school, and the business wasn’t exactly a subject one majors in. Her interests weren’t exactly college worthy, either.
Off the table was the idea of finding a man so he could take care of her. The thought pretty much was an impossible one. She’d essentially been on her own, supporting herself long enough to know she didn’t want to be a kept woman. She was independent, intending to be for a long time. Sort of. The Princess Leia slave image flashed in her head, and she just as quickly brushed it aside knowing how silly it was.

About the Author
“What’s to tell?” Gray Dixon asked. The nom de plume of erotica writer of hot, sexy stories for the adult crowd loves walks along the beach at sunset, a glass of wine over a romantic dinner, and a night of love.
On the serious side, she’s married to her Dear Heart for many years, has three children, many grandchildren, a dog, a couple of fish, a big yard with lots of fruit trees, two cars, and a house. Ah, the American Dream as she loves to describe it. She likes a lot of different things, crafts, watching the History Channel, reality shows (not all, but some), travel, and of course writing. She’s worked hard all her life in many interesting fields and enjoyed all of them, but she finally found enough time to relax and enjoy escaping into the worlds she created through her stories. She mainly writes erotica with BDSM elements, and hopes readers will enjoy the tales she weaves.
