My mind is having a hard time going to romance this morning. I sat watching peaceful and violent protests going on around the United States last night. The news covered the worst of humanity, rarely going to the peaceful protests. When people come together for a cause it is a wonderful thing. Our country was founded on that very thing. But even our segregation from the British Empire didn’t come without violence.
It’s just hard to watch when it happens. I lived in Long Beach CA during the Rodney King riots. The same thing happened the last two nights in Minneapolis. The violence was a sad but expected result. From having lived through almost the same thing in the LA area I know how scared those people that weren’t rioting felt.
Every race has good and bad people. It doesn’t matter the color of their skin. It should never matter the color of your skin. We are all people.
It is heartbreaking to see the worst of any group come out. All actions have consequences. Right or wrong, the people that perpetrate them should have to face those consequences. I’m glad to see the police man that kneeled on Mr. Floyd’s neck receiving the consequences of his. Or at least the start of the due process.
Now, on to romance things!
So, appropriately, I’d like to introduce you to a couple of writers that write interracial romance.
Michel Prince – Love doesn’t color inside the lines.
