Review – Hurricane Crimes – Chrys Fey

*Hurricane Crimes is a short story.*

After her car breaks down, Beth Kennedy is forced to stay in Florida, the target of Hurricane Sabrina. She stocks up supplies, boards up windows, and hunkers down to wait out the storm, but her plan unravels when she witnesses a car accident. Risking her life, she braves the winds to save the driver. Just when she believes they are safe, she finds out the man she saved could possibly be more dangerous than the severe weather.

Donovan Goldwyn only wanted to hide from the police, but the hurricane shoved his car into a tree. Now he’s trapped with a beautiful woman while the evidence that can prove his innocence to a brutal crime is out there for anyone to find.

As Hurricane Sabrina wreaks havoc, Beth has no other choice but to trust Donovan to stay alive. But will she survive, or will she become another hurricane crime?

Teresa’s Review

This was a sweet little story, it flowed very smoothly from start to finish. The situation along
With the feeling of danger lurking from the storm and the murder kept things on edge and I
Was eager to turn the next page.

The exchange between the characters kept me wondering the entire time did he or did he wondering the entire time did he or did he not, and what would she do if he had. I enjoy books that carry suspense and intrigue along with
loving romance as the characters fall in love even as they fight against it.

This story does have some sadness in it which I do not personally care for in the books I read, however, it was a great little read and I enjoyed it.

Review ~ Santa’s Wayward Elf by Paige Tyler

SantaBook Title: Santa’s Wayward Elf
by Paige Tyler
Publisher: Indie
Reviewer: ReadingRN

NOTE: This book has a guileless elf heroine you can’t help but fall in love with, a hunky hero who knows how to come to a girl’s – er, elf’s – rescue, some serious kissing under the mistletoe and lots of steamy hot romance!

Being one of Santa’s elves isn’t all sugar plums and candy canes.

At least not for Sosie. Taller than the other elves, she’s always had a problem fitting in at the North Pole, so when the transport sled she’s on breaks down in New York City on Christmas Eve, she can’t resist slipping away to explore the world of the “big people.” While she’s having fun, the transport sled takes off, leaving the naïve elf stranded.

Fortunately, handsome police detective Derek Clayton comes to her rescue, offering to let her stay at his apartment. Having heard horror stories about the big people, Sosie is both surprised and relieved to meet such a kind, sweet man. Not to mention one so gorgeous and well-built.

Even though Sosie expects the North Pole to send out a search party any day, she finds herself falling for Derek. She desperately wants to tell him she’s an elf, but knows he’ll never believe her. When the lies and omissions start to pile up, Derek can draw only one conclusion—Sosie is working for the mob boss he’s been after for years.

Just when things seem like they can’t get any worse, the chief of elfin security shows up to drag Sosie back to the North Pole. How is a runaway elf supposed to overcome a determined security elf, dangerous mobsters and a suspicious boyfriend all while keeping her pointed ears a secret?

Cara’s Review:
To one mixing bowl add: A dash of Elf, a pinch of Ever After, a dollop of hot loving, and a sprinkle of mobsters, stir till well blended, add some ice and a tiny umbrella for kicks, sit back and enjoy this sparkling drink of X-mas fun! I finished this book in one sitting, I enjoyed it that much. Sosie is a naïve Elf who happened to wander away while the sleigh was getting fixed- and the lucky girl ran into her very own knight in shining armor.

Derek Clayton is a big teddy bear when it comes to Sosie, but is a devoted detective in all other respects. I love that he is willing to slow down and explore the world alongside Sosie while they go sight-seeing. And, oh boy, the love scenes!!!! The book is rounded out with a cool cast of characters, each of them endearing in their own ways.

So, readers, here you get the full package. A hot detective hero, a naïve but strong heroine elf, the modern world explored by someone who’s never seen it, and some evil mobsters. What more can anyone ask for?

I strongly recommend this book if you are looking for a fast, good read full of holiday cheer!
