Review – Cutting Ties – Danielle Stewart

Cutting Ties, Book 2 of the Piper Anderson Series:

Against all odds, Piper Anderson has managed to pick up the pieces of her life. She’s holding tight to her budding romance with Officer Bobby Wright, anxious to have her moment with him. Now encircled by fiercely loyal friends, she finally feels like she’s standing at the edge of a normal life. That is until reports of a brutal attack at the local college campus turn her dream of happily ever after into a nightmare. The unmistakably familiar details of the attack are an instant reminder of the chains tying her to people and places she so badly wants to escape.

With her life and friends in danger, Piper must confront her past in order to fight for her future. To make matters worse, Piper and Bobby once again find their moral compasses pointing them in opposite directions. But what Piper doesn’t know is that Bobby has secrets of his own. How can their love survive when their pasts have shaped them so differently? Piper’s choices could bring her the freedom she yearns for, but will cutting ties with the past sever her relationship with Bobby?

Allyson’s Review

I thought I was completely hooked in Chasing Justice but I couldn’t put this book down. I highly recommend reading Chasing Justice first because you the have the same main characters but completely new mystery. Bobby, Piper, Michael, Jules and Betty are all back. In Cutting Ties we finally find out Bobby’ s Story as to why he likes to play by the rules. Piper whose story you find out in Chasing Justice to her everything has a grey area and she colors outside of the box. Given she was raised by abusive, drug addicts and her father is a serial killer that tried to kill her after he killed her mother, I completely understand that. I was truly pulling for Bobby and Piper to work out their differences and find a middle ground. They complimented each so well.
I loved Betty in both books, she was definitely the mother hen. Betty was really Jules’ mother and like a surrogate mother to Bobby but knew Piper needed someone, so almost adopted her to. When Michael started helping Bobby and Piper she opened her home and heart to him as well.
Piper’ s Dad comes back to finish what he started years ago. The action and suspense kept you on the edge of your seat, turning page after page! Cutting Ties was heartwarming at parts as well as touching, there were several places that broke my heart and had me in tears. I can’t wait for more by Danielle Stewart! I highly recommend this book!hearts 51Flames 2

Review – Chasing Justice – Danielle Stewart

Piper Anderson has been given a fresh start in the picturesque town of Edenville, North Carolina. But her plans of settling into a normal life are derailed when she witnesses a prominent judge in her community committing a violent assault. Running from her own past and fueled by a passion to make the judge answer for his crimes, Piper is forced to decide if she’ll play by the rules or achieve justice in her own way.

Complicating things further, Piper finds herself fighting a powerful attraction to rookie cop, Bobby Wright. Although she’s increasingly enamored with Bobby, his staunch belief in the justice system is in stark contrast to her own. She may not share his opinions about the effectiveness of the law, but she certainly can’t deny how safe she feels when she’s in his arms or how every kiss leaves her desperate for more.

For Piper, the idea of finally living an ordinary life with a man to love is tempting. However, fate keeps placing the judge, quite literally, in her path. Will she decide the only way to win is to be as wicked as the judge, but with righteous intentions? And more importantly, will Bobby choose to let her go, or follow her as she crosses the line and takes justice into her own hands?

Allyson’s Review
I absolutely loved this book! Chasing Justice had me completely enthralled from page one. You could tell from the very beginning that Piper seemed troubled, lost maybe even a little broken but she was amazingly strong. With what she had been through she had every reason to be completely broken but she never give up, was almost fearless.
I really liked Bobby he had the white knight personality. Bobby was a cop and good one just played strictly by the rules. Chasing Justice took twists and and turns I never saw coming. This was a wonderful book filled with suspense, action and two people who complemented each other so well but needed to work through difficult issues. Danielle Stewart did an excellent job with this book! I highly recommended it!

Expected Publication Date- July 22nd, 2013
Genre: Contemporary Romance

How can you ever love again when tragedy has crushed your heart?

Kathleen used to love life. She had plans, dreams, and faith in life; but that was before the accident that took it all away from her in an instant. Now that her beloved brother is dead and she’s confined to a wheelchair, her future is but a dark cloud hovering above her head. How can she ever find the will to move on and keep living without him? Even the cares of the happy-go-lucky American physiotherapist who’s helping her with her rehab therapies are all in vain. Life seems to have lost its meaning, until one night she receives an unexpected celestial visit…

Colin has been working as a physiotherapist in Dublin for almost five years, but he’s never bonded so much with a patient like he is bonding with Kathleen; there’s something about those sad blue eyes that makes him want to help her, to take away the pain that reminds him so much of his own. Having lost both his parents in a plane crash when he was only sixteen, Colin knows how it feels to have someone you love taken so abruptly away from you, and he makes it his mission to help Kathleen find her faith in life again. But something changes along the way…

Sometimes love can work miracles. If you believe.

Can you share your idea of the perfect soundtrack to ‘Hugged by an Angel’ with us?

I have a soundtrack for Kathleen and one for Colin, because I found that some songs were perfect for one or the other (because of the lyrics), so I created two separate soundtracks. Feel free to publish both or to mix them into one.

Kathleen’s (they’re mostly about her brother):

Angel – Sarah McLachlan
Could it be any harder – The Calling
When I look to the sky – Train
There you’ll be – Faith Hill
Never gone – Backstreet Boys
One sweet day – Mariah Carey
Our farewell – Within Temptation (I imagined Declan singing this to Kathleen)
Falling into you – Celine Dion (for Colin)
Thank God I found you – Mariah Carey (for Colin)
Feels like home – Chantal Kreviazuk (for Colin)

Galway girl – Steve Earle
I love the way you love me – Boyzone
I’m a believer – Smash Mouth
Turning page – Sleeping At Last
Never knew I needed – Ne-Yo
Feel – Darren Hayes
Lost in You – Westlife
Close your eyes – Michael Bublè
Rush over me – Backstreet Boys
I knew I loved you – Savage Garden

Roberta CapizziAbout the Author:

An avid reader since her childhood years and being an only child, Roberta always enjoyed the company of her fictional friends from the children’s books she loved reading, while she dreamed of writing her own stories one day.

It was when she discovered novels by authors Rosamunde Pilcher and Maeve Binchy in her teenage years that she realized it was time she put down in words the stories she had kept well hidden in her mind until then.

What started as a hobby, soon turned into a real passion and a way of life, until she could no longer keep the stories to herself, and decided to get over her fears and share them with the world.

Roberta lives in Italy, but her dream is to move out of her country and live either in a thatched cottage in the Irish countryside or in a country house with a swing on the back porch, somewhere in the United States, where she would love to spend her days writing novels as a full-time job, and maybe one day even get as far as writing a screenplay for a movie.
