Review – A Mating Dance – Lia Davis

Senior enforcer, Cameron Nickels has found her perfect mate. Blaine Andrews, leopard Pack Marshal, is strong, dominate, loyal, and passionate. He knows all her strengths and weaknesses–not to mention her pleasure points. Cam’s known Blaine most her life, but she’s always felt like something was missing and her jaguar refuses to fully accept him. Yet, she can’t walk away from him. When architect and sexy mountain lion shifter, Graham Griffin, comes to town to design the new den nursery and school, Cameron finds herself in a mating dance that throws her and her jaguar into flight mode while Blaine must decide if he cannot only share his mate, but welcome another.

After his lover walked out on him a year ago, Graham has no intentions of entering another relationship any time soon. But he realizes that the fates have other plans for him when he meets Blaine and Cameron. When his ex-lover’s children are chased into Ashwood territory by a group of rogues, he discovers the male he shared a life with had died freeing the kids from the Onyx Pack. Graham must work side-by-side with the two enforcers to uncover lies from the past while his heart opens to his true mates.

Warning: Contains one-hot headed leopard, a man who thought he’d lost it all, and a woman who is about to rub up against both in the best possible ways.

Crystal’s Review
I have been wanting to read this book for awhile and I was happy when I finally had the chance to get it and read it. I have read several books by this author and I have really gotten into reading stories that have menages in them.

Cameron Nickels is the senior enforcer in the pack. She knows how to get the job done. She has been in the mating dance with Blaine Andrews who is the leopard pack marshall. Her jaguar still feels like there is still something missing and she can’t seem to commit to him. She is also trying to get over the lose of her baby. She feels like she will never be able to carry a cub to full term. Everything changes when Graham Griffin comes to the pack.

Graham has never been in a relationship with a female and can’t understand what it is about Cam that calls to him. He also wants Blaine and that doesn’t surprise him. He is just here to help out his brother until his ex lovers children are found and he has to find out what happened. Graham seems to have a lot of things going on.

This was a really hot and sexy book. It had a great storyline and to help it out it was about shifters and a threesome. There is nothing better than getting to read a book like this one. I couldn’t put it down and wanted it to keep going. I can’t wait to read the next book to see what happens next. I will warn you that this book contains scenes with M/F/M, M/M, and M/F. It is a great story and the author did a wonderful job working with all three characters.

teaser one-1

Everyone has secrets; secrets meant to be kept—hidden away where nobody can discover the truth.  Adrian O’Donnell (aka: Dre Donley) is no exception.  Dre spins tales and half-truths like it’s his job, keeping the reality of his past buried deep within each lie he fabricates.  On the other hand, Kathryn Howell is the exception to the rule.  She’s a straight-shooter, a tell-it-like-it-is, no filter kind of girl.

Kathryn’s honesty and straightforwardness is the ultimate turn on for a guy like Dre.  He’s never met someone so sincere, so full of truth and innocence.  Their chemistry is unavoidable, their connection, magnetic.  When Dre sets out to make Kathryn fall for him, he doesn’t realize the grave mistake he’s making.  Kathryn’s strength and convictions do not falter, even for an irresistible man like Dre. When his past resurfaces, and the lies come tumbling forth, Kathryn must decide if his deceit and betrayal can be forgiven or if the damage is irreparable. Will the truth ultimately destroy the relationship that neither one of them could deny or even attempt to resist?

This novel is for mature readers only, due to language and sexual content.

Book Trailer for Can’t Go Home

CGH Teaser Excerpt:

“Little late getting back from lunch, eh?” I ask as Kathryn gets out of her car.

“I didn’t realize my stalker was keeping track of the time clock,” she says, uncapping her lip-gloss.

Fuck.  She is not going to put that on in front of me.  Don’t do it.  Don’t.  Don’t. Aww fuck, she is.  The stick thing glides over her bottom lip, layering her lip in a thick, wet shine.  Holy shit.  I can think of quite few other things that I’d want to trail over those sexy lips.

“Hey Dre, cat got your tongue?” Kathryn asks, winking at me.  Well, well, well, what do we have here? Kathryn Howell is flirting with me.  This is a strange turn of events.

“No Ma’am, the cat most certainly does not have my tongue.  I can do anything you’d like me to with my tongue…anything,” I say, seeing her sexual innuendo, and doubling and raising anything she may add.

Fanning herself, she says, “It’s getting too hot for my blood; I fold,” she announces, walking to the office door.  “Seriously though, what brings ya back to the Agency?” she asks coyly.

“I wanted to see if a certain literary agent wanted to have dinner tonight,” I admit.

“If she’s an agent, then she’s probably ‘booked’ for the night,” she says, cracking herself up.  I groan at her cheesy joke.  “Ba-dump-ba! I’m here all night, folks.”

Kathryn Howell is adorable.  She’s corny, quirky, and sexy too.  I can’t take my eyes off of her.  Smiling, Kathryn says, “Well, what’s her name?  I’ll ask her when I get inside.”

“Katie something or other.  Just tell her I’ll be out here tonight at 5:30,” I say, starting to walk away.  I stop, turn around, and add, “If she’s not here by 5:45, then I’m hitting up that waitress, ‘Allie with i.’ I hear she’s got crabs, but I’ll take my chances.”

Laughing, she says, “I’ll let her know. Wouldn’t want those all-you-can-eat-crabs spreading all over town.”  Kathryn waves, turns to leave, but stops, and then looks back at me to add, “Oh…and Dre, please don’t call me ‘Katie.’ I hate it.”

“Then you’ll never hear me say it again,” I promise her.  A grin travels all the way across her face; you can even see the smile in her eyes.  I thought she might be a little hard to get, but this was going smoothly—very smoothly.

 20 Fun Facts

Angelisa Denise Stone

1. The first time I kissed a boy with tongue in fifth grade, I bit his lip and drew blood.  No boys would kiss me for two more years after that elementary school debacle.

 2. I auditioned and got a part in a drinking and driving documentary when I was in high school.  I was 14 at the time.  During the filming, the movie production people allowed all the kids to drink to make it “seem real.”  I freaked out, cried, and called my mom to come get me.  She went off “Old School Italian” style on those people.

3. My friend invited me to a DEF LEPPARD concert when I was in 9th grade; her parents had a suite.  I didn’t know who Def Leppard was, but I was certain my outfit was perfect for a concert:  white ruffle skirt, white turtleneck, red cardigan, white bobby socks, and boat shoes.  Needless to say, I did not fit in AT ALL.

4. In 10th grade, a boy I worked with showed up at work and told me that he bought me two tickets to see New Kids on the Block.  I was ecstatic, jumped up and down, freaking out.  I took the tickets and called my best friend to tell her all about how we were going to the concert.  It was months later when another co-worker told me that the guy intended to take me AS A DATE. I had no idea. Instead, I took the tickets and took my friend to the concert.

5. In fifth grade, I almost got suspended for biting a boy’s butt.  In my defense, he pushed me down in the snow and sat on my head.   {Ps.  I have a problem with biting things.}

6. When I was in college, my suitemates and I decided that we were going to “make our mark” on our campus.  They were putting in new concrete outside of one of the buildings.  We dressed all in black and went out in the middle of the night to “stamp” our footprints and initials in the pavement.  We were so excited, counted to three to all do it together, only to discover that it was already dry.  Who the hell knew concrete dried that quickly?

7. When I was in seventh grade, I spent the night at my best friend’s house.  In the middle of the night, I went to the bathroom and realized that I started my period for the very first time.  Since everyone was asleep, I sat there crying, not having any idea what to do, staring at my ruined underwear.  Suddenly, her dad walked in completely NAKED!!!  Mortifying.  I couldn’t go back to her house for at least another year.

8. I was on a skyline that travels the length of an amusement park and one of the cars fell to the ground.  (Not the one I was on.)  We had to jump off to the ground at the lowest point.

9. I love to go water-skiing.  However, I’ve never actually gotten up on skis.  I just love trying.  I can’t keep my legs together.  (“That’s what she said.”)

10. I went snow skiing once and got a concussion and never went again.  My friends convinced me that I didn’t need those silly lessons, so I skipped them.  The first time down the hill, I was heading straight for the ski-lift pole.  I didn’t know how to turn.  I figured it must be like roller-skating and to turn when roller-skating you just cross one leg over the other.  It is NOT like roller-skating and crossing your legs/skis is not a good idea…said the paramedic in the ambulance.

11. I don’t like zoos.  I don’t want to look at anything. They’re so boring.  I want to ride the animals.  Whenever a zoo opens up that lets me ride around in the pouch of a kangaroo or slide down a giraffe’s neck, I am there!

12. I do not understand the hype of the following things:  French fries, pizza, and coffee.  I could live 1000 years without any of them.

13. I don’t understand when to punt and when not to punt in football.

14. I was student council president in high school and won unanimously.  Actually, everyone forgot there was a meeting that day, and only five of my friends and I showed up to the meeting, so I won.

15. The second I step foot in a hospital I find a box of latex gloves and wear a pair the whole time I’m there.  Germs are disgusting.

16. I’m a terrible driver.  I’ve wrecked every side of my car—always my fault—usually hitting a stationery object.

17. I have three tattoos.

18. I’ve had NINE surgeries.

19. I’ve been in TEN weddings—counting my own.   It really doesn’t pay to be everyone’s “best friend.”  Actually, you’re the one who ends up paying—for a lot of damn hideous-looking dresses.

20.  I won a creative writing contest in 1987.  I didn’t pick up writing again until a few years ago.

My uncle raped me.

I was 10 years old when it started.

At 13 he told me I was no longer wanted because I had started to develop.

At 16 I was ready to kill him.

Today, I’m broken.

Today, I only breathe to survive.

My name’s Sergeant Major Ryan Jenkins and today, I’m ready to tell you my story.

“Master would flog me if I did, she won’t be happy when I tell her what happened here.”

Oh, Master.

Yes, Master Cover

“It’s just such a difficult situation.”

“Of course it’s difficult.” She stops talking and taps her fingernails again. My eyes go to where she’s tapping, and then follow up to her face. I try to avoid her abrasive orbs. “You’re overpowered by agony and torment, and it’s slowly claiming you day by day.”

I finally concede and look into Stella’s eyes. Because every word she’s said, and every sentence that she’s breathed out has been so accurate about me.

“Freedom,” she says as I intake a huge gulp of air at that word. “I can promise you freedom if you can promise me you’ll never lie to me.”

I want it. I think I may even deserve my very own happily ever after. Are they real? According to movies and books they’re attainable. But this isn’t a movie, or even a fucking book.

This is my life.

And I’m going to try to get it.

“No lies, ever,” I whisper.

I don’t do ‘normal’.

I’ve found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader.
I take the normal and switch it around.
For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it’s the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I’ve done my job as an author I want to be.
I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different.
My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won’t label myself because I don’t like sticking to one genre.
My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it’s only for a split second.
I’m a go with the flow sort of person and don’t really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don’t usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I’ll be happy to accept.
I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. I really don’t like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don’t believe that’s necessary, I mean life’s hard enough as it is!
I hope you enjoy my books, I’ve had a hoot writing them. There’s more to come…..
Til next time.

New Release ~ The Crimson Bond ~ Tamsin Flowers

Studio shotThe Crimson Bond

I hope you’ve all had wonderful Christmas Days and are now ready to enjoy that peaceful lull until the New Years parties kick off!  And I particularly hope that Santa brought you everything you wanted – world peace, goodwill among men and a brand new e-reader that you can fill up with smut!

And, coincidentally, talking of which, I’ve brought a short excerpt from my latest release, The Crimson Bond. It’s a sizzling, red-hot vampire tale, an eternal triangle of love, lust and passion between three wayward vampires who can’t get enough of each other… In other words, just the ticket if you’ve had enough of seasonal cheer, turkey and pantomimes!

PS And thanks for having me, Beverly and Tamara!

Willow Jackson develops an unhealthy obsession Etienne Corbeau; little does she realise he’s a suave, sophisticated vampire.  After appearing in her dreams, Willow is astounded to find Etienne in her room for real and even more shocked when, in the throes of a passion she can’t resist, he sinks his teeth into her neck and drinks her blood.

But Etienne is greedy and to save Willow’s life, his wife Elouise forces her to drink vampire blood.  From this moment Willow is herself a vampire, forming an unbreakable bond with Elouise which forces her to choose between the beautiful new vampire and her husband of two centuries.

As Willow learns to tame her bloodlust and vampire sex carries her to new heights of physical pleasure, Elouise is snatched away from her.  The battle lines are drawn: now she and Etienne will fight for possession of the woman they both love…

“Don’t be angry with me, Willow,” he said. “Your effect on me is so strong I can’t control myself when you’re around.”

That much was true and it was a feeling Willow had come to understand.

“Even now? Now I’m a vampire like you?”

Etienne brushed a hand down her jaw with unexpected tenderness.

“More now, Willow.”

His body was close to hers and as he looked down at her face his warm breath tickled her cheeks. She breathed in deeply to catch the scent of him and it didn’t disappoint. Low in her gut, muscles tightened and a shiver ran through her.

“Your bond with Elouise doesn’t stop you…” Her voice was ragged and she didn’t know how to finish what she intended to say.

“A vampire’s bond is mental, rather than physical.” His voice was low, practically a whisper.

She felt his hand on her breast, warm through the thin cotton of her T-shirt. Her knees turned to water and as she slumped against him, he lowered her gently to the ground. She was weak with lust, so overpowering she could hardly breath. But it was different from the bloodlust she felt when she was close to the girls on the ranch. This feeling, burning in her loins and spreading through her body, was a pure, sexual need—the full expression of the mere glimmers she’d experienced when she was still human and she’d lusted after him from afar.

They were both kneeling, facing each other. He pulled at the bottom of her T-shirt and she obligingly lifted her arms as he pulled it up over her head. His every touch felt like a burn on her skin but it was a sensation she couldn’t get enough of. As soon as her arms were free of the shirt, she tore at his, not caring as the buttons flew off and landed in the long grass.

She pressed her body against his, her softness against the firm, rough surface of his chest. She gasped and once again their mouths locked together. He tasted sweet and she felt a compulsion to make herself one with him, her tongue thrusting deep as her body pressed harder still against the length of his. His hands raked through her hair and drew her head back, angling her mouth all the better against his. Then she felt a hand dropping down her back and sliding under the waistband of her jeans. The sensation of his firm hand sliding down her cheek, one finger straying along the crack between her buttocks, elicited a low groan, deep in her throat, and she raked her nails down his back.

With a cry that might have been pain or pleasure or both, Etienne pushed her roughly back onto the grass. His hands scrabbled desperately at the fastening of her jeans and, seconds, later he ripped them down her thighs, scraping them over her knees and off. He buried his face between her legs, taking deep, rasping breaths of her scent, and then she felt his fingers prying their way into her willing sex. Her lips slipped open with a rush of hot juice and Etienne grunted as first his fingers explored her deeply and then his tongue found its way inside her.

Willow writhed beneath his touch but fought the sensations threatening to sweep her away. She longed to feel all of him insider her, so she reached down to his shoulders to pull him up.

He shook off her grasp and lifted his head to look at her.

“You can have both,” he whispered, his fingers still drumming a magical rhythm deep inside her.

“I want everything,” she said, returning his gaze.

“It’s all yours.”

Interviewing Emily A. Lawrence ~ The Guardian of my Soul

Beverly and Tamara: Welcome to SSLY. Thanks so much for joining us today EmilyEmily A. Lawrence. So first why don’t you tell us a little about yourself.

Emily: First of all thank you, ladies, for hosting me today. I live in Transylvania with my family and I’ve been a professional tennis player for twelve years, until an injury pulled me away from the court. Since then I’ve focused on my other hobbies, namely reading, writing, traveling and more recently cooking. I’ve never been a fan of the kitchen, but learning new recipes and spending more time with my mother is always a plus. I enjoy experiencing new cultures, new sceneries, food and meeting new people, watching documentaries, listening to music, doing yoga and working out as much as I can to stay fit. I am a big animal lover and own a nine-year-old German Shepherd whom I adore.

Tamara: What do you HAVE to have when you are writing?

Emily: When writing I need peace and quiet, and preferably to be in my writing cave, the only place where I can truly lose myself into the story and express my creativity. I need my laptop where I keep all my notes, character sheets and researched information.

Beverly: When did you start to write?

Emily: I’ve been writing stories since high school for my personal pleasure, but started doing it more seriously about a year ago. Now it’s become such an important part of my life, that I feel like something is missing when I don’t have time to write. I hope I will be doing this for a very long time.

Tamara: What do you think are the qualities that make up a “hero”?

Emily: I like handsome heroes that are smart, strong, loyal, funny, protective, loving, and who know how to handle a woman.

Beverly: Can you describe your favorite character? And which of your books is he/she in? How do you come up with your characters?

Emily: My favorite character is Alec Warner from “The Guardian Of My Soul”. Alec is sexy, charming, strong and determined to get what he wants, but he also has a troubled past and demons he has to face in order to be able to move on and live the life he desires. My characters are the products of my imagination. I’ve never based a character on a person I know or on real life events. I write male characters I’d love to hang out with and strong females who sweep them off their feet.

Tamara: What are the hardest scenes for you to write? Suspense? Sex? Dialogue? And why?

Emily: For me the sex scenes are the hardest to write, because I have to be in a certain mood when I write them, put myself in their shoes and come up with the most exciting scenes I can, that would hopefully make readers fan themselves.

Beverly: What writer, if any, influenced how you write?

Emily: I could name several, but I think E L James has been the most influential. I chose to write New Adult and erotic romance novels after reading her books. Just like her, I’ve also written fan fiction stories for years, and her success has inspired me to try my luck as well and turn some of those stories into novels.

Tamara: Who would you choose as your “book boyfriend”? From what book? Author?

Emily: I would pick Christian Grey, but without his BDSM issues haha. I like the way he is described in the books and everything he’s achieved in spite of his young age.

Beverly: What is the kinkiest thing you’ve ever done?  Or would like to? What?  We are all about the love!

Emily: I am a hopeless romantic and never been too attracted to the kinky side. I am more the make love on a beach under the starts kind of girl, with candles, flowers and heart shaped chocolates around.

Tamara: What are your favorite types of heroines? Do you like the damsel in distress who needs saving or the kick-ass variety? Why?

Emily: I prefer the kick-ass kind of heroines because I’ve always admired strong, independent women who strive on their own. But my characters also have flaws, like any other human being. There is no such thing as perfect.

Beverly: What was your worst date ever?

Emily: Dates…what a nightmare haha! Dating has never been my favorite part of a relationship. My nervousness knows no limits, especially if I really like the guy. But I don’t think I’ve had a date that would make me want to bury my head in the sand at the mere thought of it.

Tamara: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you? (you have food, water, shelter, all the necessities, so nothing mundane).

Emily: My mother, who is my rock, my dog and my laptop.

Beverly: What is your “guilty pleasure”?

Emily: Pizza. Despite doing my best to work out and lead a healthy life, I’d never say no to pizza.

Tamara: What dream or goal have you yet to realize?

Emily: My dream is to one day make the New York Times Best Seller list and to keep writing and be able to do what I enjoy most.

Beverly: What was your most embarrassing moment?

Emily: Hmmm…I hate being the center of attention and I always get cold feet when speaking in front of a large audience. So once, during a conference organized by my University, I was supposed to give a speech on environmental issues and as soon as I stepped in front of the crowd I completely forgot what I was supposed to say. Having all eyes on me didn’t help either, so it took me a moment to recover. To be honest, I still don’t know how I’ve managed to get through it in the end – ha!

Tamara: If you were a color what would you be and why?

Emily: My favorite color is the blue sky on a summer day. I find it peaceful, refreshing and soothing, and wish there could be summer all year long.

Beverly: Who has influenced how you perceive love? Why?

Emily: My parents. I come from a very happy and loving family, and I’ve always wishes for a relationship like theirs.

Tamara and Beverly: Okay. We are SSLY so we have to ask. Who loves you?

Emily: My family, my friends and a special someone I’d rather keep to myself. J

I heard a banging at my door, not a gentle knock but a loud racket which shook the whole door. My eyes sprang open. What in the world? I looked around the room, trying to get my bearings. The hotel room was bathed in warm, bright light and my heart skipped a beat when I realized it was morning.

“Oh, Kristeeen?” Alec’s grumpy voice sounded over the loud banging.

Fred jumped off the bed and rushed to the door wagging his tail, visibly excited to hear him.

“Fred, how can you fraternize with the enemy?” I grumped, heading to the door. As soon as I opened it my traitor of a dog jumped into Alec’s arms and licked him as if he were his favorite person in the world, making him chuckle.

“Finally, the princess decides to greet the day,” he said and grinned at me once he was done petting the dog. Suddenly, his eyes dropped and his smile slowly faded away.

I blinked perplexed. Is he staring at my breasts? My God, he’s staring at my breasts! The realization elicited tremors all over my body, causing my nipples to strain against the fabric of my nightgown. Holy crap! My nightgown! I tensed when I remembered the transparent lace across my chest.

“Give him to me!” I snatched Fred out of his arms and used him to hide my aroused state. “What’s wrong with you, hammering at my door like a crazy man?” I fussed.

He cleared his throat as if to regain his voice before he answered me. “I’ve been standing here for more than five minutes calling you and nothing. What was I supposed to do? You said eight sharp and it’s almost eight thirty.”

“Damn it!” I hurried back inside the room and put Fred on the bed, then quickly looked for something comfortable to change into. I took out a pair of denim shorts and a white shirt from my suitcase, then tugged at my nightgown to pull it off over my head. I stopped halfway when I noticed him sitting on the bed, casually assessing me. “Alec!” I shuddered, gaping at him in shock. “What are you doing in here? Can’t you see I’m trying to change clothes?” I stammered in bewilderment. I couldn’t believe he’d gotten a glimpse of my equally transparent panties.

“I’m just waiting to take your luggage.” He smiled innocently, clearly not finding anything wrong with his actions.

“Wait outside, you peeping tom!” I was amazed by how brazen he turned out to be.

“My bad,” he said dryly and left the room.

It took me a moment to recover from the shock and register the warm wetness between my legs. I sighed, once more feeling betrayed by my own body. “I can’t believe him! And I refuse to be turned on, no matter how he makes me feel!” I grumbled.

When I finally exited the room, I found him waiting in the hallway and I marched up to him. “I can’t believe you saw me in my underwear! I am furious with you.” I walked on, eager to put some distance between us.

“Hey!” He grabbed my arm and pulled me abruptly, my chest slamming against his hard torso. “You’re right. What I did was inappropriate and I’m sorry. I just found myself absentmindedly walking in. I didn’t mean to be rude.” He excused himself.

“You expect me to believe that?” I murmured flush against him, taken aback by his sudden change in attitude.

“Yes, I do.”

“You were checking me out.”

“Was not,” he retorted calmly, his face merely a few inches away from mine. Then I caught the smile in his eyes. He was lying like a dog.

“Let go of me,” I whispered, feeling my heart pounding heavily and my chest heaving in agitation.

Being this close to him was doing funny things to me. I couldn’t think. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t breathe. Everything in me wanted to move closer, to lean in, to touch, but I stubbornly resisted the unwelcome temptation.

What are you doing to me? I cried out in my mind.

He leaned toward me slowly and I panicked, my breath catching in my throat. With a sudden jerk I managed to free myself from his grip and rushed to the elevator, never looking back. He followed me in silence, hauling my luggage after him. We travelled down together and I was so aware of him, my whole body reacted as if he were a powerful magnet. I was drawn to him, hanging on to the rail just to stay upright. His eyes held mine with an intensity which made me feel lightheaded and I gasped for air as the space around us suddenly appeared to be too small.

Merry Christmas from Smile Somebody Love You

From My house to yours, I’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. For those who celebrate other holidays I hope however you celebrate you have a wonderful and joyous holiday.
Christmas is a time for family and friends. A time to remember those in your life that you love. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all fro supporting Smile Somebody Love You and Beverly and I. We appreciate you stopping by, leaving comments and participating in our blog.
We truly do love books! And all of you.
Christmas at the Hoffa house starts on Thanksgiving! We put up the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving night and everyone helps. We collect new ornaments every year, so decorating the tree is a walk down memory lane. Every ornament we unwrap has a story and a memory. This year, my two grandsons were old enough to help and we had a ball!
Then the cookie baking starts! I love to cook and everyone loves cookies, right? My favorites are Mexican Wedding Cookies, I put a Hershey’s Kiss inside. My daughter’s favorite are the chocolate sugar cookies. Every family member has a favorite and I make them all! One year I made 52 dozen cookies! (Not this year as the DH is on a diet, lol)
Tristan, my 5 year old grandson loves to help Nana cook and Aiden (3) tries to help too. A kitchen full of flour and sugar is often the result, but that’s Okay, messes clean up, but memories last FOREVER!
Our family has always celebrated the family Christmas on Christmas Eve. We make finger foods and watch Christmas movies and then the present opening extravaganza begins! Only Santa presents wait for Christmas morning. Last year Aiden was more interested in the boxes then the actual presents. I can’t wait to see what this year brings. Tristan is getting a Nobby from Santa (yes we are starting the book obsession early!) He sings along with the commercial every time it comes on TV! “Good morning, Redbird… Awkward!” Cracks his Nana up!
Christmas morning brings the stockings and presents from Santa. Bagels, Lox and cream cheese (I know not exactly gentile fare, but we love it!) And a whole day of lounging on the couch and watching all the movies we got for Christmas!
Leave a comment with one of your holiday traditions and one lucky commenter will get a Christmas gift from me!
My new book Chasing Love releases today! So I’ll share a little love for Christmas!

From Beverly’s non decorated 🙂 Thank Goodness it’s almost over house!

Bah Humbug!

Merry Christmas!

Tamara told me NO Bah, Humbug! I couldn’t just let that go!

Maybe Tennessee doesn’t look like Wisconsin right now.  It is snowing for the third day in a row.snow1222  This is day two.  I hadn’t made it to the gym so I shoveled the side walk. I only did it because I had to clean off my car.  I got a phone call from my daughter that started “Mommy you don’t want me to die do you?”  Okay, someone wanted to use my car. Guess who? 🙂

It’s a way to get to see your neighbors during the hibernation period in Wisconsin! We shout up and down the street while shoveling. Everyone knows your business in winter! lol!  The next best place is to meet up at a bar. You have to warm up after shoveling!

I did have some fun. I made a snow angel.snowangel My husband asked if I fell and just said ‘what the hell-why not? I’m already down there.’  No, I decided to make a snow angel because the mood struck! Okay, I’m 50. And let me tell you 50 is NOT the new 15. I had a hell of a time getting back up! And NOT because I didn’t want to destroy my angel! Any longer and I’m sure the local search and rescue team (ie. the neighbors) would have found me and plied me with whiskey to revive me.

Well, my kids are grown. I’ll Skype with my son in Kuwait. My daughter is heading out with her fiancé to visit his mom’s family on Christmas Eve and his dad’s family on Christmas Day. They’ll stop by on Christmas Eve and they might even go to the Candlelight Service with me this year. My husband and I work on Christmas Eve and he also works Christmas Day. Did I mention I work for the Post Office? I don’t have to bake cookies as I’m getting fat from all the food our wonderful customers are bringing in!

I don’t have pictures of a tree to show as in true Bah Humbug fashion, my tree is still in the box!!! LOL! I don’t know if I’ll take it out or not.

DSCN0036Okay, so as you can see I took out the Christmas tree and we fluffed out the branches, found an extension cord and plugged it in. It went up about ten minutes before our daughter and her fiancé and his mother arrived to celebrate Christmas with us. They tore through their loot and went home.

No Candlelight Service tonight. None of us were willing to brave the cold of seven below zero on this night. Bedtime is coming soon and I’ll wake up to a quiet house, just me and my dragons.

I’m truly looking forward to a nice QUIET Christmas day!

Hope your Christmas is all that you wish it to be.

And don’t forget to check out Tamara’s book.  Giving Chase is really really good!

(Yes I’ve read it!)

To add to our mix of the giveaway, I’m tossing in two SSLY winter key chains and assorted SWAG.  We’ll announce the winners on here and on our facebook page.

So don’t forget to comment!
